"You're probably still beating me in that area of knowledge then, as I haven't been to any house," I said with an answering wink. "I'll just let you go through them all first and then get an honest opinion before I start looking into any of them myself."

Chuckling I turned the corner completely. "Thats why I suggested that we go together." I smiled wryly. "I wouldn't take you to anything too stressing, Camellia is nice."

Laughing, I let her lead me. "You and I must have different ideas of what 'stressing' is- being around perfect people would drive me almost mad, since I am not perfect myself as you are, near-cousin. Nothing turns a man meek more than a partner that would normally be out of his league, and meekness is not something I'm very good at expressing."

"Then perhaps Jasmine or Heliotrope are more your style." I said as we continued to walk. "Pleasure is their only vice." I winked wryly.

"Maybe, but who knows? I guess I'll just have to wait and find out," I said with a grin. "I suppose I'll know the right house when I need to, instincts are good for that sort of thing. I think it would be the adept that made the most difference, not the house they were from."

I nodded. "Thats true, love, passion, caring, lust; they come in many forms. Its more important to be open to it once it does come."

"I agree," I said amicably, "Though I believe trust and honesty should be included in those- no relationship, be it love, lust, caring, or even friendship, can last for long without those two things."

"True, trust and honesty are very important." I pointed to a statue as we walked. "Do you know that one?" I asked as we got closer.

Looking sideways up the statue, I looked puzzled. "No, I don't think I do- what is it?"

I smiled and walked over to it.
"What, no family resemblence?" I joked standing next to it. "Many don't know until they read the plaque." I said moving back to him. "The first Courcel." I said raising my brow. "Its so old that you can barely make out what he looks like." It was indeed an ancestor, the first Courcel King, Claudius de la Courcel.

I could just make out attractive features, the Courcel neck, though the statue was indeed worn and faded. "Well, I'm not as good at seeing similarities in features like some people, but the neck is distinct," I said as I read the plaque.

I nodded. "I think it's the only think I recieved from House Courcel as far as bloodlines go; the slender Courcel neck."

"Having never seen another Courcel except your brother and this old statue I wouldn't be able to tell," I said lightly, "Though I do think blood hides in us sometimes, not coming out until it has the right reason to."

Smiling I turned to him. "Thats a lovely thought," I sighed and looked up at the worn relic. "I hope you're right."

Quietly I heard myself say, "It will- it's the way those things work."
Shaking myself back to reality I grinned, saying "Well, are you ready to go?"

I smiled looking up at him and nodded linking my arm in his once more. "What do you think so far?"

"It's wonderful," I said, looking around and taking in all of the sights. "Have I asked you what your favorite place here is? I have a very short attention span, and therefore a very poor memory," I added in a wry tone.

I shrugged. "Possibly." I said smiling. "I think I'm the same way." chuckling I thought for a moment.
"I'm not sure to be honest, I do enjoy the shopping."

"I don't think I've been city-shopping in a long time," I said with an echoing chuckle. "And I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who doesn't have a perfect memory."

"To be honest, I don't spend a lot of time in the City itself. I only come to Nights Doorstep when really need; new gown, furniture, things like that."

"That's more than I do- I try to avoid shopping as much as possible. It always seems like there's too many people doing too many things; I'd rather be out in the solitude and quiet," I said with a grin.

Nodding I pointed towards one of my favourite stores. "The sell excellent gifts there." I said as we passed. "All sorts of things, I recomend it especially if you're buying something for some one special." I raised a brow and smiled wickedly.

"Well, if I ever meet someone special, I'll have to remember that," I said lightly. "And whatever is that dastardly grin for? Are you thinking evil thoughts?" I teased.

"Perhaps," I said still smiling. "More then nothing I was thinking of the lucky woman you would choose to bestow gifts apon."

"If I ever have a woman I should bestow trinkets on she will probably be disappointed, as my poor memory will cause me to forget every occasion in which that is expected, so she wouldn't be so lucky," I said with a chuckle. "Besides, women are not all I have been known to have a taste for."

I raised a brow. "You like the taste of men?" I asked curiously.

A little bit disbelieving- after all, I thought I'd mentioned it before, but there went that short-term memory again- I nodded. "Yes, I have been known to on occasion. I'm not picky, I choose from both sides of the gender line," I said with a chuckle. "Why, does that suprise you?"

I shook my head. "No, of course not. Just interesting knowledge." I said smiling wrly. "My grand mother always said; All knowledge is worth having.."

Nodding, I grinned. "I've heard she said that and was told it enough as a child as well- after all, I am Siovalese. My mother always countered with 'Knowledge is most valuable when you know what to do with it'- an Azzallese sentiment."

I smiled. "My mother's mother was Siovalese." I said wondering if he knew that I was just of Kushiel's and Elua's line. "Mother always loved Phedre's sayings, its why they named my brother Delaunay after Phedre's mentor Anafiel." I looked back up at him. "You mother was from Azzalle?"
