I saw a glimpse of something in Deluanay's eye and was unsure of how to interpret it. I would have to sit down ans speak with him when we where alone.
"I hope you do enjoy it here," I said looking back to Medousa and smiling. "Yes my brother be kind enough to ask you to the Midwinter masque...or at least longest night?" I teased making a wry smile.

"We hadn't spoken of any plans beyond today and this evening, and that is all right my me. I'm just trying to take everything in slowly. Tell me, what is this Longest Night?" I could feel tension radiating from Delaunay at my side and prayed it wasn't as awful as I thought.

I shrugged. "Nothing interesting, its a celebration of a new year on our calender. Just another excuse to carouse." I said leaning back and looking to Delaunay then back to Landis. "Have you been to one?" I asked smiling.

Smiling back I shook my head. "I'm afraid not; the wilds of Siovale aren't really the most exciting place, especially during the winter. Still, being in the City for it promises to be interesting."

I nodded. "This will be Delaunay and mine's first in what, five, six seasons?" I looked to Delaunay and he nodded silently. "We too have been locked way in the country side."

"I haven't been in the city since I was eleven years old- my parents didn't want to return after my younger brother died," I explained. "I don't think they ever quite recovered from his loss."

Smiling, I said, "How could I be in the City and not go? I may be a bit of a recluse sometimes, but seeing all of the beautiful ladies turned out in their finest is not something I can refuse."

I looked to Medousa. "I think so," I smiled. "I know I'm hungry." It was funny because the moment I said that the server appeared. "Will you please bring us...." I thought for a moment and looked to Medousa. "Stew, is that alright?"

"It sounds wonderful. And I'm sure stew isn't that much different from country to country. The culinary perils of traveling abroad were told to me in great detail by the captain of our ship. Frankly I think he was exaggerating but one never knows." I smiled graciously and settled more comfortably in my chair.
"Tell me, Lady Phreya, what do you do when in the country?"

I smiled and nodded to the server asking for a bottle of wine as well then turned back to the table once he had left.

I shrugged. "Landis and I were just discussing the same thing." I smiled. "Theres not much to do, in the country you mostly sit around and drink. Especially in the winter, the summers are better. There are often races, and dueling matches, honestly the City is better then the country when looking for entertainmen. I mean theres fine shopping, dining and..." I jolted right up.
"Delaunay, remeber that old theatre that mother and father took us too. They're still open, I remember hearing somthing about a play in honor of Ambrose's corontion..." I trailed off. "Which means they're still in business." I turned back to Medousa and smiled releasing that I had gotten a bit away from myself.

"A theater? How interesting! I've seen very few non Hellene plays, and I know the style of them is much different from the plays of other countries. It would be most enlightening to watch one. And a orchestra, no, that was not the therm. A symphony I think it was. My mother entertains the D'Angeline Ambassador frequently and he made mention of them. Music tells so much about a culture I've found." Phreya seemed a bit... abstracted. But she was lovely to speak with and Delaunay's family.
It still rattled me a little, how all of this was playing out. I hadn't really considered much beyond finding the man in my vision and bedding him. Delaunay was surprising, and meeting his family was nice, but unsettling at the same instant. What was I doing here, with him beyond my goal? It was something I'd have to devote some meditation to and think on.
Something told me spending time with him would be no hardship and that leaving would be harder than I thought.

I smiled and nodded. "Yes, I think once the summer comes there will be more. Especially once things have calmed down in the city." I smiled softly.

I chuckled, Phreya seemed so excited. I use to hope that mother and father would have more children, Phreya was always lonly no matter how much time I spent with her and she always seem more interested with other females. It was always painful to watch growing up, the other girls always ignored her and gossiped behind her back. It was how we ended up so close in the first place.
"I'll take you to something once the spring arrives. The theatre district always has new plays debuting in the spring." I smiled to Medousa but startled as our stews and wine arrived, I was surprisingly hungry now.

The stew smelled good, a combination of spices and herbs I was familiar with, but had never thought to use all together. The wine was delightful, a hint of melon and an oak flavor I was beginning to associate with most of the Terre d'Ange wines. Wonderful stuff. I'd have to convince the Archon to let us import more.
"I think that would be wonderful. Lady Phreya, you must accompany us if we go."

I smiled. "I'd love to, thank you for the invitation." I turned to Landis. "What about you, I suppose the theatre is much too boring for some one like you." I teased with a wide grin.

I'd listened to the banter between Phreya and her brother, my other near-cousin Delaunay, for awhile and was a little taken off-guard when a question was directed at me again. Still, I managed to collect myself well enough to respond without looking like a complete idiot. Teasing back, I said, "Yes, that's me- the rough mountain man with no class and no patience. Actually," I said to her with a wink, "I think plays are interesting- I am still Siovalese, after all. The exciting ones just happen to pique my interests more."

I chuckled softly. "Then you should come, we should all go." I said looking back to the others. "I'm sure there will be something manly and rugged by way of plays Landis." I teased. "They're not all about stuffy nobles." I winked back.

"I'll take your word for it, though if I am bored you'll have to deal with a little bit of a pouting session," I said, wrinkling my nose in distaste at the idea of being bored.

I ate my stew and sipped wine, watching the two flirt and tease one another. He teased like an older sibling, not a lover, most curious.
"Well, I'm glad it's settled. And even if the play is not entertaining, the company will be."

I finished my stew while listening to the polite chatter but once finished I grew impatient, I looked over to Medousa. "Well, if you're ready my lady," I said turning to Medousa and reaching into my purse for some coins. "We have appointments to make." I smiled and tossed the coin on the table.

I delicately wiped by mouth and pushed aside the remains of my meal. "Of course, erastis. Lady Phreya, Lord Verreuil, it was a pleasure meeting you. I look forward to seeing you again, and our venture into the playhouses." I placed my hand on Delaunay's and bowed courteously to the two at the table. A bright smile lit my face as I touched him.

Nodding respectfully to Medousa I smiled warmly to the happy couple. "It was very nice meeting you as well, Lady Asterius, and near-cousin. I hope you two have fun," I said with just a hair of wryness to my grin. Really, they looked great together; I hoped they realized I was only teasing and didn't take things personally.

Raising a brow at Phreya, I asked, "Why is that? Afraid that you'll lose your brother to some romance and you'll have to play around the manor by yourself?" I teased lightly, afraid for a moment that I had hit too close to the mark with that comment.

I shook my head a flush rising to my cheeks. "No," I said in a hard tone at being teased. "That would be jealous, I'm envious because he looks happy. I'd like to find that." I shrugged. "Silly I suppose."
