Smiling, I said, "Yes she was- with all of the pride that entails, though she tempered it with a good deal of compassion and common sense."

I smiled. "Tell me about your parents."

"There isn't much to tell that I haven't already said," I replied with a grin. "But you haven't spoken of your mother at all. What was she like?"

"Kind," I said thinking on her. "And caring, with an encredible mind for conversation and wit. My father and she met when they were only fifteen and the moment they met they hated each other." I chuckled thinking on the stories they used to tell us.

Teasingly I responded, "Ah yes, love sprung from hate- well, at least the feelings were strong from the beginning. My parents just always got along and then fell in love and married, nothing so interesting as your parents."

I shook my head. "But its still interesting because it is your parent's story." Smiling I looked over through the crowds and watched a group of children fighting over a wooden solider toy. "What about you're brothers, what were they like...if thats not to much of a painful topic."

Smiling a little sadly I said, "No, it's a alright. Tybalt was two years older than me and the charmer of the family; everything came easily to him amd he was very good-natured with it. Louis was three years younger and a very sweet child, overflowing with kindness but a little shy at times. And they both died entirely too young."

I hummed a sound of understanding. "I'm sorry, I can't imagine what thats like." I squeezed his arm slightly.

Her sympathy was reassuring and my smile cheered up slightly. "It always gets easier with time, though I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy."

I nodded in understanding. "I can see that." I said softly and looked around realizing how far we had come and changed the subject. "Well, what would you like to do now?" I chuckled softly. "We seem to have come so far and I haven't really shown you anything."

"Oh, I've seen a lot by walking around with you," I reassured her while smiling warmly. "Plus, I've gotten a feel of the City that I was lacking before, for which I am grateful, near-cousin."

"Good," I said happily. "When would you like to do dinner?" I asked remembering I said he should come over some time. "We can do it tomorrow night if you wish."

"That sounds like a plan," I said with a happy grin. "Unless you decided that I am much too irritating to sit through a meal with since we last discussed this topic."

I laughed shaking my head. "Of course not." I said raising a brow. "Unless that's how you feel about me."

Smiling up at him I chuckled almost more to hide my embarassment. "Well then." I said matter of factly. "You should return me to my carriage before my footman sends out for the royal guards."

"Oh yes, that would be a pity," I said wryly, rolling my eyes and offering her my arm. "Though that would make for an exciting event for the day."
Slowly I led her back through the streets, remembering the landmarks I had seen along the way. "It always seems so much faster to get back than leave, doesn't it?" I asked curiously. "I wonder why that is."

I furrowed my brows and thought. "You know, I could never figure that out either." Shrugging I sighed. "Not like we can fixt that though right."

"That's true," I said agreeably, noticing that the place we had started from was in sight. "See- that was almost quicker than half of the walk we took to get out into the City."

I saw the cafe and sighed. "Yes, agreed, disapointing." I shook my head but it was a slight tease.

Smiling teasingly back, I said, "Oh, don't fret- I'll see you tomorrow night for dinner and try to keep you amused with my antics some more. Maybe this time you'll even regale me with some tales of your own."

I laughed seeing the carriage within a short distance. "Well, that should be entertaining then." I said raising both my brows and chuckling softly.

Seeing her carriage I began to lead her over to it, "Well, one can only hope," I said teasingly as we approached and I helped her in. "I'll see about finding you some little trinket as a bribe for a story," I added with a wink.

I stepped into the carriage and straightned myself making sure that I didn't crush the soft petals of my flowers and smiled.
"Thank you near cousin for a lovely day." I said as I let him close the door behind me. "I look forward to tomorrow then."

"Until then," I said pleasantly with a good-natured grin on my face as I closed the door and watched her carriage pull away from across the street. It had been, all in all, a good day, if a strange one, and I looked forward to dinner at Phreya's home and the chance to speak with her some more.

I carriage pulled forward and we began our way back to my town house, I inhaled the sweet smell of the bouquet and smiled thinking of my next meeting with Landis.
