"Really," I said, a devious grin coming to my mouth. "You know, I do happen to know a few women who are looking for a dashing, handsome man..."

I chuckled. "Like whom?" I asked curiously.

I grinned at him. "Are you going to let me set you up?" I asked, returning his question with a question playfully.

I eyed her for a moment. What a challenge.
"Could be interesting," I said after a moment then took a bite of fritter. "Alright, if you think you can find a worthy woman." I nodded. "What are your terms?"

"Only that you treat her as a courtier should, but I know you will," I said, smiling at him and trying to keep it on this side of devious. "I'll note you in a few days with a girls name... We'll have a dinner party at my townhome, if you'd like. I'll see if August can come."

I smiled though when August's name came up I cringed inwardly.
"Alright, I agree. And I always treat a lady like a courtier should." I teased.

I smiled at him, my expression softening slightly. "I know. And because of that, I'll try to pick less annoying a date for you."

I laughed and leaned over spontaneously, kissing his cheek. "She'll be warm and beautiful, I promise," I said, smiling softly at him before eating my fritter again, gaze wandering over the lake. The sun shone down on it, making the lapping waves sparke as they washed against the shoreline.

I smiled watching her return to her seat. The warmth of her lips made my cheek come alive, but it was fleeting and I was sadened with the warmth had left me. "Do I get to know they're names first or shall that be a surprise too."

"Well," I mused after swallowing the last bite of the fritter. "There's the Comte d'Paliers daughter Sylvia, and the Vicomtess Relouche's daughter Petrais. Both very pretty," I assured him. I looked over at him, wondering if he knew either.

I stared back at her listening to the names she had mentioned. "I can tell you already I don't like them." I teased, though my face was straight and untelling.

"Really?" I asked, surprised, before frowning a little in thought, my lower lip bitten softly between my teeth. "Jouliet de Amarne?" I asked, looking back at him.

"Hate her." I said flatly discarding my fritter for some more meat.

I looked at him a little curiously, wondering if he really didn't like any of them or he wasn't interested in the idea. "Ah, well, I'm out then," I said, waving my hand a little as if to dismiss the matter. "The rest simply wouldn't suit a man of your charms and wit."

I laughed. "I was jesting Mirielle," I said smiling as I swolled some cheese. "I'm sure whom ever you pick will suit a man of my charms fine."

I relaxed a little an narrowed my eye at him. "After that, I think I might dip into the dredges," I teased back, smiling as I sipped at my wine.

A smile that was by far too sweet crossed my mouth, and I laid down finally, staring at the fluffy clouds as they floated by. "If that's the case, then I really will," I said innocently, fighting the grin that was trying to come out.

I watched her giving a wide smile as she laid down on the ground. "Curiousity," I said softly glancing to the serene lake. "What kind of women do you see for me?"

I looked at him, watching him for a long moment before speaking. "Someone who is proud, but also gentle. I can't see you with a harsh woman, nor someone who is meek, though if I had to choose between the two I'd go with the latter." I smiled. "I can see you coddling her. Can you see yourself married, Damien?"

I listened, still, as Mirielle spoke. My eyes focused on the lake and shrugged at Mirielle's question. "Once." I said softly. "Once I saw myself married." I looked to Mirielle and then looked away. "There was this girl, when I was younger. But she ended up with a very nice man and she's happy with him." I chuckled and looked to Mirielle. "I think I lost hope after that."

My face softened as I listened to him speak, and I reached over, covering his hand with mine. "There are many women out there... Don't lose hope Damien."
I gave him as supporting a smile as I could, my inner thoughts going to August and how I loved him. My fingers squeezed Damiens hand gently, and I looked back to the water to give him privacy if he wished it.

Her touch was bittersweet. It was bliss, to have her skin touch me so. But it burned like the fires of hell, reminding me that she belonged to another. "Thanks." I said softly, wanting instead to leaning over and press my lips firmly to hers. I looked to the lake trying hard not to feel as though my heart was breaking, taking a deep breath to steady myself.
"I think I'm going to go for a swim." I said looking to Mirielle with a smile. I stood then, pulling off my shirt and then began to pull off my boots.

I sat up some and nodded as he began to strip himself. Blush covered my cheeks and I looked away, scanning down the beach where a pair of seagulls flopped lazily on the shoreline. "Have fun," I said, hoping he could hear the smile in my voice since my head was angled away from him.

I unlaced my breeches and pushed them off so that I was naked. I looked to her turned away head and grined. I had no shame and I wasn't worried if she saw or not. She was taken, she would have no interest in me if she loved him truly.
"Coming?" I asked balling up my breechs and tossed them to the blanket.

When fabric hit the sheet next to me I jumped and was instantly mortified that I did, my cheeks blushing a brighter color. Stubbornly I looked at him, refusing to let my gaze drop to his nether region, even as curious of it as I was.
And that just made me color more.
"No, thank you - I didn't bring anything to swim in," I said, giving my best attempt at a smile before rising to stand. "I think I'm going to gather some wildflowers, actually. I haven't had a chance to do that since coming to the City."
I smiled softer at him, brushing the crumbs from my dress as I spoke.

I chuckled looking at her, the blush in her cheeks making her supremely gorgeous. I couldn't help but grin unabashed at her.
"Prude." I teased raising a brow to her still smiling. "I'm not going to look." I chuckled again.

His name calling met with me wrinkling my nose at him, a teasing gesture. "Are you telling me that if I were to stand nude before you, you wouldn't look?"
I turned my nose up a little and bent, picking my first flower as it grew next to the blanket, though a grin was on my mouth even as I turned from him.

"Oh I'd look," I said with an exagerated grin. "But I wouldn't do anything." I said softly. "You're taken, it wouldn't be appropriate." There was a defeatest feeling in my body but I smiled softly either way. I noticed that she hadn't made a glance to my phallus and grined again. "And you're welcome to look yourself by the way." I raised a brow and chuckled.
