For a short moment, I found myself staring at the floor, then noticing how large my feet were, hiding them under my stool for a short moment, and contemplating my mead again.
I am not used to having so much female attention. While I'd found a fellow healer in Joie, Alean was outrageously flirtatious, and I wasn't quite sure how to respond to it.
Throwing a light punch into Caine's arm, strong enough that he would feel manly but light enough not to hurt him, I encouraged him "Take a risk, Caine. Receiving a kiss from Alean or giving her one would certainly be no pain," I added with a wink.
Besides, I didn't want to be in the spotlight so long, and I was hoping the shy adept would appreciate some of it.

I felt my cheeks burn under Joie's light friendly kiss. I hope that no one else noticed my blush.
I smiled as Caine seemed to ponder my question. I was a little saddened when he said he didn't know. I smiled as Siegfried gave him an encouraging thump on the arm, but I also noticed that he had not made an attempt to guess himself. No matter, he seemed more interested in Joie any way. I wondered what they had found to discuss.
"Say, what all were you guys talking about while I was in the lady's chamber?"

I smiled at Siegfried and rubbed my arm, though more out of an unconcious instinct than pain, since it didn't truly hurt. I looked at Aelan again closely and thought about my studies as an adept and the other adepts I knew who where not completely d'Angeline. There was one boy who vaugly resembled her. Taking a wild guess based on his apparence I said, "Eiren?"

I grinned from ear to ear and blushed slightly. I picked up my mead and raised it to Caine and took a large sip. "Aye my lad. You are a smart one. Now you shall claim your prize." I leaned over and kissed Caine softly on the cheek. My hair slid around my shoulders and brushed lightly on his face. I sat back in my chair and watched him for a moment. I couldn't help but grin.
"So what my dear gave me away?" I asked as I took a second long sip of my mead.

I smiled happily when Caine got a kiss from the girl, happy for him. He was a sweet lad, and I would have hoped he would find some pleasure in the attention.
I winked at Alean apologettically. I was hoping she would understand I wanted Caine to share in on the fun, and that my dodge had been in no way a reflection on her seductive abilities. She was a typical Irish beauty, there was no doubt to had there.

I smiled as Siegfried winked at me. He seemed to be enjoying himself. I noticed the empty bowl in front of him and assumed that he had been eating soup. It had not occurred to me until now that I was famished. I leaned over and asked Siegfried, "What type of soup was that? Was it any good?" I sat back in my seat and glanced over to Caine and Joie. "Would the two of you care for a bite to eat? We have been sitting here for quite a while. It would be my treat."

"It was just a simple tomato soup, but rather tasty. If you are famished, you might find it a bit light though," I observed. "They make lovely pork roast here, if you have a taste for it."

Smiling apologetically, I shook my head to Aelan. "I probably shouldn't," I said, toying quietly with the handle of my mug. "I had a late breakfast, and should likely be getting home soon. Besides," I added, my smile broadening, "I have a book at home on Yeshuite bone-mendings that I've been itching to finish."
Not very lady-like or interesting to those not involved with healing, but it was my passion, and I indulged myself in it as often as I could.

"Yeshuite bone-mending?" I arched an eyebrow in interest. "It seems we have a gathering of all cultures here at the White Hart," I added in a movement to include our Irish beauty and the lovely D'Angeline adept. "I would love to borrow your book where you are finished with it, if it is of no inconvenience".

"Not so many as you would think," I said, smiling fairly brightly at Siegfried. "I'm D'Angeline, though my roots lay partially in Eiran, as does Aelans here." Glancing to the fiery red-head, I transferred my smile, then looked back to the large man of unknown-origin. "You're more than welcome to read the book; I'm fairly well done with it as it's the second time I've read it. I'll bring it by in the morning, if it is an oppertune time for you."

I laughed at the misunderstanding. "I didn't think you were Yeshuite, I only find it interesting that their culture made it to the table as well, albeit through a D'Angeline messenger." Looking alternatively between Joie and Alean, I smiled, "True that your hair color bears a semblance to each others." I looked over to Alean's curly mane, reflecting, "though textures are very different one from the other."
Laughing, I added, "You're welcome to drop by the clinic anytime, but if I'm not in, do ask them to fetch me. I would prefer to receive your book myself rather then have it left with my assistant. She has been flaky these past days," I added with my brow a bit furrowed in recollection of the last appointment she'd forgotten to tell me about.

"I shall," I said, leaning slightly toward him with a twinkle in my eye, "though if you take overlong in appearing, I may start mending those who wait for you myself."
Truly I never would do such a thing, though I thought that perhaps he was intuitive enough to understand my personality by now. Testing it with a joke could prove to be a poor idea, though I hoped fervently that it was not.

I chuckled and replied, "It may prove a welcome thing if the clinic is overly busy, but I can't promise Deleuze will accept to change the clinic's name to include yours just yet."

I laughed, shaking my head. "If he did, he would be the fool for it as I know him not." Happiness and mirth mixed in me readily as it generally did, and I found myself relaxed well in the presence of Sieg, Caine and Aelan. "You're a joy, Sieg," I said, smiling.

"Coming from Joie, that is an uncanny compliment," I laughed at the poor pleasantry. "I am happy to have met you all. I rarely have a chance to enjoy companionship of this quality." The compliment was extended to the trio, really. Their different qualities made for a pleasant chemistry, and an uncanny idea started to grow in my mind.

Giving Caine and Aelan a smile each, I looked to Seig, watching an idea form behind his eyes. Still, we all were still fresh-met, and as such I took a drink of my tea before speaking.
"You're brewing something," I said, smiling.

"Be careful you don't injure yourself with straining," I jested, lifting a slender brow at him. "I may be strong," I said, fibbing obviously through my teeth in the joke, "but you are by far the largest man I've ever had the pleasure to meet, and I think I'd have to drag you away by your ears should you harm yourself."

The thought of light, slender Joie dragging me by the ears was a rather funny one, and I bellowed in laughter.
A good minute later, I took in a deep breath and steadied it. "You are quite a character, Joie de Mornay." It was touching that one be so caring. Strangely, she was reminding me of the Baronne, in an offbeat kind of way.

Giving Siegfried a joyful smile, I inclined my head slightly. "As are you, Siegfried de Strsbourg, and thankfully so." Truly, he was, and I was thankful I'd come to the White Hart earlier this day.

Ah, there was the idea in his head. "I would love to," I said.
Smiling, I dug into my purse and handed a few coins to the barmaid working, asking quietly to give Aelan, Cain an Seigfried a refill should they choose it; the rest was hers to keep. Stepping gingerly down from my chair, I gave a small sigh. "I'm afraid I must go," I said, a touch ruefully. "I'm glad to have met you, and will be seeing you all next week in any hopes."
Moving to Aelan, I leaned over and gave her the kiss of farewell. "Good luck with your dreams," I whispered, laying my cool fingers upon her cheek as I spoke.
A smile, and I was to Caine, forgoing the kiss as we didn't speak as much. "Here's hoping you are able to fool your Dowayne." My eye twinkled as I touched his hand, then stepped over to Seig.
"And you," I said, standing back and appraising his seated form. "I'll see you tomorrow, and lighten your waiting room should you fail to meet me." My teeth showed as I smiled, and I leaned up on my toes to give him the kiss of farewell too.

"What a lovely character," I said after Joie had left. Turning to Aelan and Caine, I reiterated my invitation, "so, what say you? Will you accept my invitation?"
I thought that the two adepts were very pleasing, and I was hoping they would agree to it. If need be, I would contract them, though having been very little in the Court of Night Blooming Flowers, I wasn't quite sure it was a requirement.

While Joie and Siegfried conversed I ordered a bowl of tomato soup and bread. I asked the barkeep to add a touch of salt to the soup. I laughed, amused at Joie and Siegfried's humor. I did not have the head for healing or mending bones. The barkeep returned with my soup and bread, and I ate hardily. I inclined my head as Joie departed. I excepted her kiss of farewell and gave it in return. I was sad to see her depart. After she had gone, and I had finished my soup, I turned my attention to Siegfried's offer.
"Well, I have no other commitments. What do you say Caine? It'll be fun won't it?"

I tried to hold in a blush as Aelan kissed me, I at least hoped that the group was to busy in the round about chat to notice my cheeks. At least I was in the Manor and not outside in the sun where my pale skin shows my every thought.
I said a farwell to Joie and laughed at her comment. I then smiled at both Aelan and Siegfried, "I would be honored to have dinner at your place in a week."

I was happy that Alean and Caine accepted, and thought that Yann would probably take well to both of them. "Well, it's settled then. Is there anything you would like to see prepared ?" I asked.

"Anywhere you like, though there seems to be little space." I replied joyfully. It was Aaliyah's day, and I truely wanted to celebrate our reunion. I glanced around the room and chuckled. Leaning into my friend, I said "Well that is one large character," pointing with a nod to a lanky blond man who was engrossed in a conversation with two adepts, one a redhead who seemed to take great pleasure in a red soup, the other a delicate and adorable looking adolescent.

My eyes went wide at the invitation to have something specific prepared. I thought longingly about the shepherd's pie my mother would make. "Your cook wouldn't happen to know how to make shepherd's pie?" I tried to make my eyes look as wishful as possible.
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed two women enter the bar. They seemed to be approaching our direction.

"Don't worry about it, my petulant friend. Sheperd's pie it is." I said as I made a mental note to visit Aramis to get details if possible. "How about you, Caine, is there anything you would enjoy?"
