I had the flowers and food planned out, the gown was being sketched probably as I spoke over at the Masion de Fournié. But I still needed decorations, and for that I enlisted the help of Alora. Well, I didn't really know how much help she'd be. But I wanted to play nice with Jareth's family.
"So I was thinking red and silver," I told her as we entered the first little shop.

I thought about it. The two colors would be good together, especially for decorations. "Those would work. How does red napkins with silver lining sound? Or even with yours and Uncle's initials in the middle in silver, forgoing the lining?" As much as I wasn't like other young women, planning aspects of my own wedding, I was willing to lend my time and hand to Ana to plan for hers.

"Embroidery is a wonderful idea, but it's a little labour intensive. Perhaps silver napkin rings against the red?" I said, thinking aloud as we moved further into the store. Different linens spread out around us. "Silver plates, crystal wine glasses - though we need to find ones that sparkle properly. I want it opulent enough for the Queen to show up, but not so silly that your uncle rolls his eyes too much."

I nodded, agreeing with the napkin rings against the red. "What sort of wine do you plan on having there? If we're staying to the silver and red, I'd suggest the red wine. To set with the silver plates." I held back a chuckle at the thought of my Uncle rolling his eyes at the possible opulence of the wedding that could result in having the Queen showing up.

"Jareth wants to have steak, so definitely red wine," I reached out to feel the weight of a red linen. "Perhaps white table linen with silver runners? I don't want to overdo the red and have people thinking of blood."

"Of course." I looked at the red linen that Ana was weighing. "Just enough to offset the silver and white, right?" I didn't want to assume that much, but it seemed reasonable.

I decided that the fabric wasn't quite right, too coarse, and dropped it to move on. "Exactly. I was thinking of doing the curtains in the front room in red, but those would be the boldest pieces. Let me know if you see anything interesting," I added as I moved down the aisle of fabrics.

I turned down an aisle, looking red fabrics that Ana might like. Spotting one, I touched it to get the feel of it. "Ana, come and see if you like this red." I wasn't sure if she'd want this for the napkins or for the curtains, but I hoped she'd like it.

The fabric was a cherry red, and light enough for napkins. "Perfect," I decided with a nod, then smiled to her. "Now we just need to find something a little richer for the curtains." I called the shopkeeper over to make sure he had enough of the material for what I needed. Soon enough we had settled on a price, and I had a sample piece of the fabric. "Shall we move on to the next shop? Unless you've seen something else, I don't think they have anything else we need."

I returned the smile, grateful that she liked it. Not bad for a first choice. "I didn't see anything. Though I can always come back on my own and look."

"Oh, you don't have to do that," I said with a smile. We left the store and started up the street to the next one. "Thank you for coming with me to help out."

"Are you sure? I wouldn't mind." I matched her stride. "It's no problem, Anacrazia. You're going to be family. Besides, I kinda wanted to make up for when we first met. Remember?"

I grinned a little. "I remember. It's fine, you're young. I'm just so glad that Jareth's family is so accepting of me. I'm cynical, so I was expecting a battle to win you over," I said with a little laugh.

"You were?" I was sure I had a shocked expression to match my voice. "Why would you expect that?"

I raised an amused brow. "Because that's what I would expect from my family," I replied.

"You were honestly expecting to fight a battle to win me over?" I looked down at the street. "Too bad I haven't met any guys like that. Willing to fight a battle to win me over."

I chuckled. "Give it time. Look at me, I found your uncle. Maybe I had to wait longer than I might have liked, but I've never been happier," I said as we walked up to the door of our next stop.

I looked up to see where I was going and smiled a bit at Ana's comment. "Being happy's probably one of the best things you can look for, I guess."

"Being happy with someone that is appropriate," I amended with a smile, opening the door for her.

"Thank you." I walked through the opened door into the next shop. "Yes, being happy with one's that's appropriate is a good thing to look for."

I followed her into the store, and began to scan for things that were appropriate. Alora had already picked out a perfect red for the napkins, but there was still so much more to find.

"What are we looking for here?"

"Anything, everything. Well, except the napkins," I said with a wry smile. I went over to the fabrics, taking out the sample from the other store to try to find a match for the curtains.

"Of course, not the napkins." I smiled and went in search for cloth that could be used for either curtains or table covers. Of course I didn't have a sample of the red that we had gotten to attempt to match up the two fabrics. I stopped and looked at a white fabric that looked more eggshell than "pure white". It might work for curtains or table covers. "Ana, mind coming and looking at this one?"

I looked up when she called my name, going over to where she was looking at whites. "I was thinking something... brighter. More snow white," I described.

I nodded and went in search for a brighter white. I wasn't sure if there was a snow white fabric here, but it didn't hurt to look.

The ribbons were on a table nearby, and so I went searching through them. "Perfect," I murmured, finding a wide ribbon of white shot through with silver.

I glanced at the white fabrics, looking and hoping to find a snow white fabric. I saw all sorts of white fabric, but it looked like this store had all but snow white. Until I stopped and dug into some of the fabric and saw a white fabric that looked to be it. "Ana."

I looked up when she called my name, and went over to where Alora stood. "That's more the idea," I said. I held my ribbon against the white fabric she had found, then fished out the red fabric and held that next to the other two material. "What do you think?"

I took a moment to look at the three fabrics, trying to imagine seeing them all over at the reception. Not too showy, while adding just the right amount. "It looks great."
