“I have, and you’re right it’s both unique and beautiful. I’ve only herd examples a couple times, but I loved both of them,” I answered.

I nodded. "Me too. Where would you say hs the most exotic sounding music?" I asked.

"Ch'in," I answered. "They only use a five note scale.'

I opened my eyes wide. "I have not heard anything from there as yet, but that sounds rather interesting," I said with a grin as the waiter brought about our dessert. I smiled as he set them down with a 'bon appetit' and made his way off.
"Do you know how to play anything in their style?" I asked before picking up my fork.

“No,” I answered, shaking my head a little as I picked up my fork. “I’ve only heard a couple examples, it was very different.”

I nodded in understanding before cutting into the dessert. Bu, before I took any up on my fork, I looked to him. "You first," I said with a smile, "I am dying to know if I have chosen wisely."

Smiling, I gathered a bit on my fork and tasted. The cinnamon was well used but not overpowering, letting the flavors of the berries and vanilla cream play a wonderful harmony.
"It's delicious," I said, smiling wider. "Excellent choice."

I could have squealed with delight, but instead smiled wider and nodded. "Excellent," I said with a soft laugh before taking the bit I had on my fork, between my lips, and let the flavours play over my tongue as I chewed. I let out asmall contented sound. "Lovely. I guess this means that I win," I said with a raised brow before taking another bite.

“I guess it does,” I agreed, with a chuckle before I took another bite.

I smiled when he chuckled and took another bite as well. "I am excited to be able to listen to your art," I said with an earnest smile.

“Such pressure, what if I disappoint?” I asked with a grin.

I smiled in kind before resting my chin in my hand. "Well, though I sincerely doubt you would disappoint," I said with a raised brow, "I am sure if you do, you will find a way to make it up to me. Like lunch or tea," I said innocently, though my words really had other connotations.

“Perhaps I’ll just try hard to make sure I don’t disappoint,” I said, chuckling.

"Well," I said with a smile, "all anyone can give is their best. But, really, no pressure," I teased with a soft laugh before taking what looked to be one of my final bites.

“Oh good, as long as there’s no pressure,” I said with another chuckle after I’d taken my last bite.

I took my final bite, chewed and swallowed, then smiled. "Oh of course, none at all. Though something tells me you would still perform perfectly well under pressure," I said wtih a not-so-innocent smile. "So it is back to the palace then?" I asked, remembering that he had to get his instrument before we could see how well he would... perform, afterall.

“Indeed,” I said with a smile. “Unless you’ve changed your mind and want to put off the payment until a later time.”

"Oh I am terribly anxious to hear you perform, but, maybe I should give you more time to prepare instead of springing it on you, in all fairness," I said thoughtfully. "Which would be the best for your performance? I understand that art cannot be rushed, and that sometimes one needs to be in a certain frame of mind for it," I said with a warm smile.

“Oh no, now is a fine time,” I said, smiling. I called for the check and paid. “Shall we?” I asked.

"Thank you," I said witha smile as he paid the cheque. I rose to my feet, a genuinely content smile on my face. The prospect of good music always made my mood light and airy. "And yes, we shall!" I said with a soft but merry laugh.

I took his arm with a warm smile and grace, looking into his eyes before we headed towards the restaurant's doors. "Have you an idea of what you might play?" I asked, intrigued.

“I do in fact,” I said, giving her a grin as we exited the restaurant and I helped her up into my carriage.
