The carriage stopped and i stepped out, offering her my hand to help her down.

I took his hand with a gentle grasp and a light smile as I followed him out of the carriage and we stood outside of the restaurant.

Taking her arm, i led her inside and we were led to a table by a window.
"You said you've been here before?" I asked as I held her chair for her.

I took his arm and we entered the restaurant. We were shown to a table and Eduardo held out my chair. I took it with a nod in thanks. "Yes," I answered with a smile, "a few times. I think the fare is rather good, and their portions are decent," I said with a smile.

“Both good things in a restaurant,” I said, chuckling as I took my seat. The host melted away to be replaced by a server asking what we’d like to drink.
“Wine?” I asked Michaiah.

"Yes, please," I said with a smile as the server placed the menus before us.

I ordered a fine red wine for both of us and then picked up my menu.
"I guess I don't really have to look at this," I said, chuckling.

I laughed softly and shook my head. "Well you could always look ahead at desserts," I said as I opened the menu and looked for something that he would enjoy, as well as something for my palate as well. For him, I looked straight to the seafood section. Most restuarants in this district knew how to prepare something well, so at least if I started in an area I knew he liked, maybe the prospect of failure would be less possible. I looked over the top of my menu and smiled. "I know this may sound out of place or terribly random, but you have very striking eyes," I said before letting my gaze fall back to the menu.

It was random enough that it surprised me. “Thank you,” I said, unsure how else to respond.

"You are rather welcome," I said with a smile as I looked up and then back down to the menu. There didn't seem anything out of the ordinary in the seafood section, nothing that stood out, so I kept a few potentials in mind and moved to the pastas. There, I saw what would have suited, I thought, perfectly. Twas a Serenissiman inspired dish, penne pasta in a rose cream and parmesan sauce with shrimp and spiced pancetta. I smiled as I saw it and looked to him. "I think I know what we are having," I thought to myself, rather intrigued by it myself. "Unless there are certain foods that do not settle rightly with you. If so, speak now or forever hold your peace!" I said with a smile.

I folded up my menu and laid it in front of me. "The Carbonera pasta," I said with a smile. "I think that you might like it. I know that it strikes my intrigue. I have not actually had this dish yet, so it will be a first time for the both of us," I proclaimed.

“Unless of course I’ve had pasta Carbonera before but just not here,” I teased, smiling.

I raised my brows and laughed softly. "Now that is true..." I leaned forward, teasingly in a conspiratory manner, "have you?"

“I have not,” I said, chuckling. “It will be new for me as well.”
The waiter returned with our wine and asked for our orders. I shook my head with a smile and indicated he should ask her.

After the waiter placed our drinks and Eduardo motioned to me for the orders, I cleared my throat softly and with a smile. "We will... both of us.... be having the Carbonera," I said as I looked to the waiter, then to Eduardo, and back to the waiter as he nodded, bowed, removed the menues and took his leave.
"Well then only time will tell how the choice fairs," I said with a smile, lifting my glass. "Might I propose a toast?" I asked.

I smiled back before taking a dainty sip from my glass. "Are you partial to dessert?" I asked. Some men preferred not the sweeter things, while some had a sweet tooth.

“Yes and no. it more depends on the dessert itself and how full I am from the main meal,” I answered, smiling as I set my glass down. “What about yourself?”

"I tend to like desserts with fruit in them. I particularly enjoy an Aragonian dessert of pears and wine," I said.

"Hmm," I said thoughtfully, "that sounds like it might be nice. I enjoy pears, and wine, so the combination of both could be rather nice." I thought to myself for a second. "I know that they have a rather nice dessert, a tart, with berries and custard."

"I think so as well, though it may be best to make it through the main course first before I start setting my sights on dessert, though it has never been a problem for me," I said with a soft laugh before taking another sip from my drink.

I laughed softly and shook my head, "not well, unfortunately. It is something I should probably learn to do but have not. Have you dabbled in culinary arts?" I asked with a smile.

I laughed softly. "You and I both then. I had attempted on occassion to try something myself and well... let me just say that it is a good thing I did not set the entire house on fire," I said with a laugh though I felt my cheeks heat. I knew that some other cultures would find it a disgraceful thing for a woman not to know how to cook, but having grown up with servants and other house help, there was never any need for me to learn.
