“I’ve found Elliot isn’t all that picky about his food,” I said, chuckling. “Though you may have to forgive us if he steals me away in the middle of me enjoying my own food so much.”

I laughed. "No offense, but I'd rather not think about that. Elliot is a bit like a brother in that respect."

“I’ll try to keep that in mind,” I said, grinning.

I looked down at my plate, surprised with how much dessert I had consumed. "How is it that this piece is disappearing just as quickly as the last?"

I looked at my own plate and realized my piece was nearly gone. "I'm not sure," I said, laughing.

"Must be sorcery," I said with a laugh of my own before enthusiastically taking another bite.

“I agree, it must be,” I said, before taking another bite and grinning.

"We should check for magical potions in the kitchen." I grinned.

“Oh no, because then I would have concerns about having one delivered to the house every day and that would be a tragedy,” I said, laughing.

I chuckled. "Perhaps I'll have them cater my next dinner party. And then I can enchant my guests with torte."

“Just make sure you only invite people worthy of this torte,” I said, chuckling and then finishing off the last bite.

I chuckled. "I promise," I replied, before sliding the last of the delicious dessert into my mouth.

I took a drink of water and then sighed softly. “Alright, now I’m so full I don’t know if I’ll be able to waddle out of here,” I said with a chuckle.

"Shall I find a wheelbarrow," I replied with an impish grin.

“You’re so kind,” I replied, laughing even as I signaled for the waiter. “Would you like anything else before we go?”

The server came over and I handed him enough coin to cover our meal and add a generous tip. Then I told him who I was and asked him to arrange to have one of the tortes delivered to the house the next day, and paid for that as well. He bowed and hurried off, I heard him calling out something to the people in the kitchen.
“Well, now that’s all arranged we can go whenever you’re ready,” I said, smiling.

I had finished the last of my tea while she spoke to the server, and before I could pull out my coin purse, the meal was paid for. "I'm ready, thank you so much for lunch," I said with a smile.

“My pleasure, it’s the least I could do for you coming with me and encouraging me to give in to my cravings,” I said with a smile.
Then, slowly, I pushed myself up to my feet.
