“Then I think we deserve lunch after this, what about you?” I suggested, smiling.

"I like the way you think," I replied with a smile of my own. It was easy to smile with Caraf, she was a very good friend.

“Thank you,” I said with a grin. I took the blanket from her and then went to the counter to arrange for the purchase and delivery of everything.

I finished up with the clerk and then returned to Juliette and took her arm. “So, where shall we lunch?” I asked.

"I'm not sure, I'm afraid that I don't know this area very well. What about you?" I asked, happy to link arms with her.

I thought for a moment. “How about Porte du Paradis?” I suggested.

“I’m open to other suggestions,” I said as we exited the store. “I’ve only heard of this place, I’ve never been there.”

“I love your sense of adventure,” I told her, grinning as I headed us in the direction I thought I remembered the restaurant was supposed to be located.

"My father always said it would keep me young," I said with a smile as we headed down the street.

“Well, it’s obviously worked,” I said with a smile. Then my breath caught as the baby kicked hard against my stomach.

"Are you alright?" I asked, my brow furrowing at the distress that passed across her face.

“Yes,” I said with a chuckle. “I think the baby’s hungry.”
I took her hand and held it to my belly where the baby was still kicking. “It still takes me by surprise sometimes.”

A look of marvel came across my face as I felt the thumps. "Looks like your babe will be strong and inquisitive," I said with a smile.

I chuckled with her, realizing that we had stopped dead in the street. "Of course. Food would be good for all three of us."

“Yes it would,” I agreed with a grin. I caught sight of our destination and angled us that way.
