I smiled softly unable to say anything else.

Smiling softly I noticed that the conversation had lapsed again. "Please tell me a story about your travelling," I asked with a wider grin.

I smiled and thought for a moment. "I'm not sure I have any interesting stories." I said looking away for a moment then back at her.
"I'm afraid most of my time was either spent with my nose in a book or working at hospices." I gave a sadden smile. "All my stories include a lot of medical terms and friendly hijinks in the late hours of the night."

Smiling shyly, I said, "It doesn't really matter what story you tell me, I just like hearing the sound of your voice- it's steadying and calming. Soothing, like the waves against the sand. Besides, I've never had any hijinks."

I smiled and thought for another minute. "This one time, for my natal, a few of us went to a local tavern for celebration. Well, turns out I have no constitution for ale and I began singing at the top of my lungs and stood on the table." I chuckled softly. "Well, a few missteps and it toppled with me with it. Broke my arm in three places."

Gracefully I put a hand over my mouth to keep from laughing. "I would say that was funny, if I couldn't imagine how painful that must have been," I said with a grin once I'd put my hand down. "I've never had ale, so I don't know if I have the constitution for it or not."

Smiling, I nodded. "That would be fun, and I promise I'll try not to look too silly. I've heard from many people that ale does that," I said, lightly teasing. "But it will be fun anyway, I know that."

I nodded. "It can, I'll make sure to stay sober so that you can get drunk and I can take care of you in your intoxication." I raised a brow wryly to her then looked away and looked around.
"I think I'm lost." I said looking back at her. "Do you know where we are?"

Giving him a little bit of a soft smile, I said, "I don't want you to have to look after me- that doesn't sound like it would be much fun for you. If you want to though I would like that."
Looking around, I tried to place myself; I couldn't exactly pinpoint where we were, but I knew how we got here. "I have no idea, but I know how to get back," I said with a grin. "I have a very good memory."

I smiled looked around.
"Question is do you want to go back?" I asked turning to her and smiled teasingly. "Would you like to continue or go back?"

"Continue," I said with a matching grin. "After all, it's the journey that matters, not the destination." With that, I took another small step forward.

I smiled and followed, she was so lovely and I couldn't help but feel desire as I walked next to her. Sighing I nodded.
"I agree." I said softly.

There was a different note in that last sigh and I wondered at it, though I kept my face in the same expression as before. Every sound he made seemed preternaturally loud in my ears. "Another apt quote would be 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'." I teased as I pushed my hair behind my ear. "Though never having really been on a journey, I wouldn't know."

Flushing a little, I said, "A couple, but all women- my friends at home, most of which are from other places. I think that's mostly out of suprise, that someone like myself hasn't travelled, but by the time I was old enough my mother was ill and I took over her side of many of the affairs of state. Still, I think travelling with you would be interesting."

I nodded in understanding.
"Then I have the honor of being the first." It was more a coment to myself. "I can't disapoint know." I said looking back at her and smiling. "Hellas first?" I raised a brow teasingly.

"That sounds like a good idea," I said with a wide smile and my blood racing a little. "In fact, it sounds perfect." Willing myself to do it before I lost my nerve, I leaned over and brushed my lips across his cheek.

I stopped, my heart racing and cleared my throat.
"May...may I have another kiss my lady?" I said making a slight bow. "You may refuse." I said softly.

"I won't refuse," I said quietly, looking at him. I was really being more forward that usual today. "Of course you may." I could trust him, I knew that. How could I not, when he was even shyer than I was?

I leaned in carefuly, slowly, this time I pressed my lips gently to hers, my hands moving to cup her face. So much desire rose in me and I had to pull away or risk doing something obscene here in public.

Unconsciously my hand reached up and traced the line of his face, images of things I'd seen and learned only in books flashing in my head as my lips pressed to his- and then he he pulled away. I realized that I had almost instinctively stepped back toward him, but I was halted by the look in his eyes, both desiring and somehow fearful, as though the edge of control were visible as line on the ground and I stood on the other side of it. Smiling faintly, I ran my hand down his face to rest on his arm, feeling the skin beneath the fabric of his clothing and wondered what came next.

I stepped forward and began to guide us forward for, a moment of silence between us.
"I'm afraid that...I am very unwise in the ways of courting." I said softly. "My career and schooling has taken up my life and...I haven't really spent any time around women." I narrowed my brows a bit hoping she would get what I meant. It was strange for a man at my age to be a virgin.

He was trying to communicate something to me with his narrowed eyes and emphasis, but it took me a moment to grasp his meaning. When I did I kept my suprise from my gaze and instead affected a look of understanding. "Everything I know about such things comes from books, not personal experience," I said, catching his eye and trying to communicate the same message.

Pushing my hair behind my hear again I turned to look up at him slightly. "Where and how would you like them to go? When one doesn't know the rules of a situation, they should always follow their instincts, I think."

Shyly I looked at him from beneath my lashes. "I would like that as well," I replied with a smile. Reaching my other hand up smoothly, I ran it down the arm I held, mostly out of understanding but also because I was curious to see if I could still feel the heat of his skin.

I sighed and inhaled deeply against the pleasure of her hand on my arm.
"Good." I said softly. "Then perhaps dinner tomorrow night is in definate order." Raising a brow I smiled trying to still my feelings.

Raising a brow of my own I matched his grin eagerly, though a slight flush still rose to my cheeks. "That sounds like a lovely idea." Noticing his reaction to my touch I was caught between the desire to elicit another reaction and my shyness, so I simply left my hand where it was and waited for him to give me the details on dinner.
