"That's not a new question," I pointed out, grinning.

"but one I'm curious to know," I said, eyes meeting his. "If not now, than later."

"Your confidence and self-assured nature," I told her. "I may not agree with you about everything, but I like the way you stand up for what you believe. You are beautiful and graceful in a way that can never be taught, it must be born with. You are smart and a great conversationalist."
I took a sip of juice.
"Now you get to come up with a new question."

Thinking about what he'd said, I asked, "What do you believe makes up intelligence?"

I had to think for a moment about her question.
"I have never really thought about it," I admitted. "Knowing the way that intelligence can run in, or away from, certain bloodlines I would say that is part of it. Also though, I think it's a willingness to learn and to listen to others. But then I have to wonder if intelligence is the same as wit, for someone can be quick-witted and sly, but not too smart."
I shook my head slightly.
"Not much of an answer, was it?"

"it was and wasn't," I admitted with a smile. "But I'll let it go. Was that your question, to ask if it wasn't an answer you gave me? Sneaky of you. Either way, I have a question ready."

"Then you go, for I am without a question at the moment," I told her, smiling.

"When is the moment you have felt the most passion?" I asked, head cocked sideways.

"Physical passion, it was last night with you. Mental passion…," I had to think for a moment. "That one's harder. Helping Dawn set up this place certainly ranks up there, for truthfully I think this is what Bryony should be about, helping those who need it."
"What are you most passionate about, and it can't be something that has to do with your House?"

"Being strong-willed, I suppose," I replied, not understanding quite what he meant. "And how can one be mentally passionate? It's an emotional response, I thought."

"Mental and emotional are so much the same, I was just making a distinction between physical passion and other passion, since you didn't specify," I explained. I hadn't meant what was she most proud of, but what did she have a driving desire to do, but I didn't think it worth going in to.

He was displeased with my answer- but language was a faulty thing. I thought he had meant what in life made me feel the most passion, but I was no person of books. "My apologies, I will be more specific in the future," I replied as I sipped my juice.

Nodding in understanding I replied, "It is your turn for a question, I believe."

"hmm," I mused, trying to think of something completely frivolous. "If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?"

"That's a hard one," I said after a moment. "I think I have good taste in food, but only one? I suppose it would be lemon scones, or ginger snaps with lemonade."

"The smell of sea air, and the scent of lemons," I answered. "And you, I like the way you smell."
I was saved from having to think of another question by the arrival of Dawn. "I hope you are enjoying yourselves," she said. "Are you done with your plates? Can I bring you your berries?"
I nodded, indicating I was done and she looked to Allisande.

"Yes, thank you," I replied, scooting the plate closer to her to aid her retrieval of it. "It was all wonderful."

"I'm glad you enjoyed," Dawn said, skillfully gathering or plates. "I will be right back."
When she was gone, I looked at Allisande. "I am glad you are enjoying it too," I said, smiling.

"It's been my pleasure, truly," I told her.
Dawn returned and set a bowl filled with berries and cream before each of us before disappearing again.

"Dessert for a breakfast- this is luxury," I replied in a jesting tone. "And fattening. But with any luck it won't matter to my figure in the face of other things."

"So I noticed," I told her, chuckling. I took a bite of the berries and cream, enjoying the tart and creamy mix.

Laughing lightly I also took a bite, though more berries than cream. "I hear there are good things in regard to that," I said with a raised brow.
