"Good," I said, squeezing her hand gently. I glanced down at my plate, realizing that my hungers no longer had anything to do with food.
"I'm ready to move somewhere more private whenever you are."

"Very well," I replied, still stroking his hand lightly and grinning a bit. "The Potatoes Allisande were named after me, you know. I did some taste-testing for Lord d'Noriturre a few months ago."

"You did a wonderful job, for they are divine," I said, smiling. "Did you help with anything else?"

"I tasted a few other things, but the potatoes were my favorite," I confessed. "We did talk about his idea for the adept lunches, though. I should find a time to visit him; he was very nice, and something of a friend."

"From what I've heard, the lunches have been a great success. I know quite a few adepts who have refused assignations just so they could come to Désir for the Adept Lunches," I said, smiling wide. "I've only met the owner a few times briefly, but he did seem nice when I did and he is without a doubt a genius at what he does."

"I've only met him twice, so I'm sure you know a great deal more of him than I do," I replied with a grin. "But even after that short a time I can tell he's brilliant."

"He asked for your help, that in itself proves he's brilliant," I told her, grinning. It was an obvious ploy of flattery, but there were times when obvious flattery was fun.

"I could say the same for the fact her knows you," I replied, voice filled with a sweet, teasing charm. "After all, he only happened on me by chance, and likely met you on purpose."

"Actually, I sought him out a few times as an intermediary for patrons, and also to compliment him on his work. I would be honored if he sought me out to help him with a business situation." I smiled and gestured around the restaurant. "He seems to be doing very well without me though."

"If he does this well without you, imagine how well he could do with you," I teased, then leaned forward slightly to stroke his cheek. "Can we be done bickering now? I'll let you win."

Chuckling, I leaned into her caress. "As long as that is the worst bickering we ever do from now on," I said, smiling.

"I'll do my best to see to it," I assured him, shifting to stroke the lines of his neck. "Usually, I am good at such things."

"You're good at a lot of things from what I've observed," I told her, sighing with contentment at her touches. "Are you ready to go?"

"Whenever you are, my dear Ryan," I assured him, then pressed a light kiss to his cheek and rose.

Standing, I left enough money for the meal and a generous tip before offering Allisande my arm.
"Where shall we adjourn to?"

"WE could go to Dahlia," I suggested, taking his arm lightly. "Or anywhere else you'd prefer."

"Dahlia or Bryony, either is fine with me," I said, leading her out of the restaurant. "Whichever you would prefer."

"I think Dahlia, in that case," I answered with surety and a smile. "If I went to Bryony I may undermine you somehow- after all, we Dahlias are pretentious and indifferent to anything outside ourselves."

I laughed. "If we went to Bryony I'd never get you out of my bathtub, that's what I think is the truth," I told her with a smile.
My carriage was just outside and I held the door for her, offering her my other hand.

"Or your bed- it's so comfortable," I agreed with another laugh as I took his hand and stepped in gracefully. At least that hadn't abandoned me yet.

"I can think of worse things that might happen," I said as I settled in the carriage next to her and we began to move towards Dahlia.

"Oh, I'm sure there's something." Smiling softly I leaned lightly against his shoulder and waited to arrive.

"But I rather like thinking of you stuck in my bed," I said smiling. I slipped my arm around her and gently held her to me as we passed the sort distance.
