"Ah, but I know you better than most other people I think," I said with a grin.
The waiter arrived and began setting out our food.

"that is true," I agreed, the smells of the food wafting over me and drawing a happy sigh. "I would say I know you as well."

"And I would agree," I told her with a smile. The food smelled delicious. "You know me better than nearly anyone in truth."

"Is that good or bad?" I asked, artfully spreading my napkin out over my lap and noticing the way my stomach made it lay a bit differently before looking back up. "I think it's good that at least I know you so well, but it seems almost unfortunate that not many others see how charming and sweet you can be."

"Shh, you'll ruin my reputation," I said teasingly as I too settled my napkin into place.

Gracefully I picked up my fork. "I'd hate to do that and inadvertently cause your demotion," I jested in reply, picking up a bite of potatoes.

"Were that to happen, I'd have to leave my House in disgrace and move in with you," I replied, grinning and then beginning to sample my meal as well.

"I'm sure Sabrie would love that," I replied, rolling my eyes and laughing, then taking the bite from my fork delicately. For a moment I savored as I chewed, then swallowed. "It's as good as I remember when I first tasted it."

"It is delicious," I agreed. "As for me moving to Dahlia, what possible reason could your Dowayne have for refusing that?" I grinned at her.

"General premise- everyone would go out and bring a Bryony adept home," I teased, but with an air of sincerity. "And I think it would hold you back from your dreams."

"Who knows, living with you…I might get different dreams," I said, giving her a tender smile before returning to my meal.

For a moment I simply watched him unobtrusively, then smiled and let my hunger lead me for a few minutes. My bites were politely small, elegantly eaten, but so natural it seemed as if I'd been born to inbibe food in such a way.

Halfway through my meal, I set my fork down and leaned back slightly.
"Is your appetite still as it was or are you having any of the odd cravings I've heard about?" I asked her curiously.

"Not so much for odd things, just more of what I usually eat," I admitted. "But I always kept to a pretty balanced diet, and the Balm adepts I've spoken to say that's the most important thing. It could also be hereditary; my mother mentioned she didn't have many strange cravings when carrying me either."

"That's good, I suppose. Though I did have a flash of undertaking a quest to find you something terribly exotic," I said with a grin.

"I do eat some things people would consider exotic," I offered with a playful helpfulness. "Like dates, or lychee fruit. Perhaps one day I will call on you to fetch some of those things, or cherries from the east, and reward you with a favor or my esteem on your return."

My mind raced as she named of items, immediately placing contacts where I could find them with her favorites.
"Well, should you get the urge, you have but to call," I replied with a grin.

His mind was working rapidly, and I smiled in amazement to see the flashes of thought that crossed his eyes. "Thank you," I replied with a nod. "I used to have contacts for such things with patrons, but now that I'm not able to take assignations a good deal of them will fade, I'm sure."

"I will be more than happy to make up for any contacts you find yourself lacking," I replied, smiling. "You know me, always looking to be useful."

Grinning, I told her, "I rather like the way that sounds when you say it."

"I will have to keep that in mind, my lord," I said in an almost-demure tone as I nodded my head, a whimsically wry smile on my face. "Are there any other titles you prefer as well? I know of a few good times to use them, I think."

I coughed slightly as a wave of desire hit me with storm driven force.
"No," I managed after I took a sip. "That's it, though now I can think of nothing else."

At his reaction I lightly bit my lip for a moment, then laughed softly. "My apologies for turning your mind in that direction if it's so distracting," I said in a completely unapologetic tone. "Perhaps I should bring up another subject instead."

"That depends on if you're wanting to stay for dessert or if you want me sweeping you off to somewhere private and ravishing you," I told her, grinning.

"I thought the fact we'd be each other's dessert was implied," I said simply, tone soft. "Though if you crave something sweeter, I would understand." At that I gave a rare wink, then smiled widely.

"There is nothing sweeter than you on the menu here or anywhere else," I said with a smile, returning her wink. "I made no assumptions on how you would feel about anything other than lunch."

"You doubt my affection or my ability?" I teased in return, enjoying the banter. "Or perhaps my attractiveness now that my stomach begins to distend?"

"I doubt none of those, especially your attractiveness," I replied, smiling. "I just know that now there is another influence on your moods and what you feel up to, so I was making no assumptions."
I reached over and stroked the back of her hand with my fingers. "I will not lie and say I didn't have hopes for how dessert would take shape though."

"At least you had hopes," I replied with a smile, turning my hand slightly to stroke the inside of his wrist. "At this point the child doesn't really make many demands, save on my appetite, but when it does I promise I won't push myself."
