I raised my brows slightly. "That sounds interesting- until I came to the City I never left Eisande, but I got to see many different people while staying in Marsilikos, with all of the ships coming in and such."

"That makes sense, you've probably met more people then I have." I smiled. "Did you get a chance to visit the stands and shop for wares at the docks?"

Smiling in memory, I said, "My father took me a few times to go look around, but I was too busy being beweildered to do anything but stare. I must have only been ten years old at the time."

I chuckled.
"That can happen." I said as the server returned.
"Are you ready to order?" He asked looking at the both of us.
"Duchesse?" I said gesturing for her to order first if she was ready.

Nodding politely, I looked up at the server with an air of self-assurance. "The special today sounds lovely, thank you," I said politely, then looking to Simon and waiting for him to order before returning to the conversations.

I nodded. "I'll have the same." I said smiling and turning back to Lessa.
"You have a brother yes." I was most positive she did.

"Yes I do, he's five years old and currently staying with my father," I said with a grin- I was very attatched to my sibling, who had come along so late in my life. "In fact, he'll be having his sixth natal soon, I should find him a present at some point in time. he's young enough yet that gift shopping for him is still fun."

I chuckled. "That sounds like fun." I knew that when I asked the thoughts of Riva would appear and I forced myself to not think of the bad times, the missing times I had with her.

He seemed to become reserved, almost sad. I wasn't sure if I should ask what was wrong or change the subject, so I took a sip of wine while I tried to think.

"Has your brother ever been to the City?" Stupid, of course he hasn't! I was reaching for things.

"Not yet, but I think I may try to convince my father to bring him and come to visit for my natal," I said with a comforting smile. Finally, I decided to ask anyway. "Are you alright? You seem upset about something."

I widened my eyes. "No," I shook my head. "I'm afraid my conversing abilities are poor. Forgive me."

Looking down, I bit at my loweer lip slightly and then said, "I don't think there's anything to forgive, unless it's your forgiving me for being so rude as to pry. Sometimes I forger myself." Already I was stumbling conversationally- Mother would be wringing her hands in despair to see me doing so poorly. Castiny my gaze back up at him, I said a little shyly, "Maybe we could start over again with the discussion? I promise I'll do better next time."

I laughed. "I guess I'm not the only one that is rusty on their schooling." I smiled and raised a brow. "I not used to speaking with some one of your status....not that that matters." I shook my head. "Boy, I seem to just be putting my foot in my mouth." I said teasingly.

Hearing the teasing note in his voice I held back a girlish giggle and instead laughed lightly. "Well, I think I've put my foot in my mouth so many times today it may take up permanent residence there. I have to admit, I've never had many conversations with a gentleman as handsome as yourself." The last bit was said with a ladylike blush on my cheeks, but it was sincere.

If I had been drinking wine I'm sure I would have spit it ut all over her. "Handsome?" Did I say that out loud?
"I...I don't know about that." I said honestly. "Frankly I'm surprised you are not surrounded day in and day out by handsome suitors with far more status then I." I chuckled nervously.

"I've only been in the City a short time," I replied rationally, trying not to show my youth, as I knew I shouldn't. "Besides, I don't think there has ever been a Lady of Marsilikos who cared much about status- after all, we have plenty of our own." Still, a slight flush stayed on my cheeks.

I smiled softly, she was so beautiful, such an air of grace, it was hard to remember that she was so young. "Then I am honored by your humble nature." I hoped she would interperate it the way I had intented.

"Thank you," I said, eyes cast slightly down in modesty. "My parents tried very hard to ensure that I was so, therefore I can't claim much credit on it myself, I guess."

It semed this slight flush would never leave my cheeks- he was just so charming now that he was more comfortable around me. It almost made me forget some of the sorrows that had been going on lately and I think I was becoming a little flirtatious. "I'm glad you were," I said with a slight smile, taking another sip of my wine.

"Tell me what you like to do for fun?"

Thinking for a moment, I said, "I like to read, to paint, and to play music. Sometimes I like to do puzzles as well, but that's less frequent for me as I have little time to devote to them. What do you like to do?"

I shrugged. "I don't really know, its been a long time since I did anything I really wanted to. I suppose I like to read...thats about it."

"You could always try to find something else you enjoy," I said with my head cocked slightly to one side. "Still, reading by itself is a wonderful thing. The only reason I do other things is because I like to work with sounds and colors, seeing them in new ways."

I chuckled. "I have no talent for painting at all, I'm afraid my sister was the only artistic one. And even then she always complained when our parents made her practice." I chuckled again thinking of what a brat she was...was.
"I'm sure you are a beautiful painter, well I know you are a beautiful painter but what I meant was that I'm sure you have much talent."
