Ah, spring, I loved spring. Spring was a time for renewal, a time for growing things, and a time for new ales and new whores. So it was with a full purse and hot blood that my friends and I headed down to Le Poulet Gauche. Once there, we ordered a round of their finest new piss, and it looked like it was going to be another night well spent blacked out and happy.

I'd been trying to be as good as I could after arriving back in the City, but after a fete and a nice time or two there wasn't much else that I could find to amuse myself with. Yes, there was shopping, and restaurants, and even the Night Court if I wanted to chance another scolding letter from my parents, but who wanted the hassle at this point? There were other ways to keep myself amused, and ones that my parents were less likely to find out about because fewer of the people they associated with would be around to see them. Time to go, then, to Mont Nuit.
After being in the country it was almost nice to see a dirty, run-down, disreputable bar like the one I found myself in front of- after all, everything there was so damn quaint it could make you sick. My dress was a good one of velvet but not my finest, and the cut was certainly more fine than the ones the wenches wore with the way it clung just so to my hips, and I knew how to use it to my advantage. A smile and slight sway had me in the door and by the bar, and I sat down and took the first mug of something that was offered to me. There was no way I was going to ruin my palate with whatever rotten grape juice this place called 'wine'.
There was the sound of a loud party to one side and I looked sideways to glance at the men involved, giving them a somewhat sly smile before I raised my mug again and turned back around to face the bar. What did you know, others were out slumming it to. That was always a fun combination.

Blaise had just got through telling a bawdy joke and we are all laughing uproariously when out of the corner of my eye I saw the pretty young blonde thing at the bar raise her mug to us and turn away. Well if that wasn't the oldest trick in the book I didn't know what was. Luckily, none of the other fellows noticed, and I was a sucker for a cheap trick. Standing up, I made my way over to her and sat down next to her at the bar. "Whatever you're drinking, it's on me, Mademoiselle," I said gallantly.

Luckily the same tricks kept working over and over, which meant that I had a lot less to worry about learning in the long run. That was the nice thing about good looks- when you had them, you got away with a lot more, and from this man's face I could tell he was used to the same. True, he could have just been some handsome cabby or servant, but there was something off about that assement, and in the end it really didn't matter because he was just that attractive. Call me simple, but what's the point of saying no to a handsome face.
"Anything but wine tonight, that's my choice," I replied with a smile as I turned toward him a little more, my voice pleasant and with just a hint of playfulness in my eyes. "I didn't mean to call you away from your fun, but the joke caught my attention, and then you did. I hope that's not a problem." The last bit had a teasing note in it and I gave him one exaggerated bat of my lashes before my smile turned more wry. He probably knew it was cheesy, but that didn't mean it wouldn't catch his attention.

The little demoness, she knew exactly what she was up to, getting me over here to pay for her drink and then batting those pretty eyes at me to make sure I'd keep serving them up. Not that I minded even the slightest. "My friends will understand," I said, as I saw wenches approach my little group. "They know I can't resist a pretty lady."

"Why, thank you," I replied with a smile, taking another drink from the mug in my hand. I didn't even really know what it was, but it was somewhat spicy and strong, and it felt warm going down my throat. "But if I can be so bold I think my taste is quite as good as yours in picking you out of your group of friends, or even the women they're currently getting acquainted with." With the hand that wasn't occupied keeping my tankard up I pushed my hair back from my shoulders, exposing the line of my neck and shoulders. "Should I ask what you're celebrating or take a guess?"

"Well thank you," I said, trying not to preen. My eyes followed her hands as she pushed back her hair, and I wet my lips with the tip of my tongue at the sight of her smooth white skin. "Well, as to what we're celebrating.," I leaned in, "I'll tell you, but you have to give me something in return."

This was turning out to be as fun as I'd hoped and I wasn't even having to pour beer over someone's head for pawing at me without making small-talk first. I always knew I had better luck in the City. And even though I wasn't being immediately grabbed I could almost feel his attention on me like delightfully caressing fingers, and I arched my neck just a little bit sideways to improve his view. This was becoming something of a charming game and I liked to play. "But if I guess right," I said with a slight smile, looking at him from beneath my lashes and feeling some of the drink already warming my blood. Strong stuff, this, but I was used to worse. "Will you give me something in return?" A jest, a tease, but all in good fun. Hopefully he was the playful type.

"Well, now, there's an idea," I said, stroking my chin thoughtfully and cocking my head as though I were deep in thought. "What should I give you if you guess correctly?"

"Some people would say it was unfair if I helped you along with that answer," I told the man next to me with a smirk and a knowing glance. "Since I could influence you one way or the other. But I'd say that you should at least offer me the same thing you'd want if I lost." Another drink from the mug, this one a little longer, then set my cup down and arched my back a bit to get comfortable against the bar- which also had the benefit of showing my assets a little more fully.

I watched her drink and preen, taking in all of the features that she was showing off. I already knew I would get to see what was underneath her pretty dress, now it was just a matter of waiting. I tapped the bar thoughtfully. "A kiss," I said. "Wherever I want it."

So he was starting slowly. I could appreciate patience so long as it didn't cause me to be tormented for too long. Patience was not a virtue I possessed much past necessity. "And if I win I get to claim the same. It sounds like a fair enough proposition," I mused for a moment. I could tell that I was probably coming off as a bit too easy for his usual tastes, but he also wasn't turning me down either. "And maybe a name. We'll see how that goes."
Glancing over at the group he'd come with I watched them debauch for a moment, a slow smile of knowing coming over my face before I looked back up at him from beneath my lashes. "I think you're celebrating life," I replied easily, then took another sip from the mug. "In all of its pleasures and indulgences."

I made a small sound of assent when she said she might ask my name. At least now I had another "bargaining chip". When she gave her answer, I chuckled. "Partially right," I said. "Claim your kiss, then, but for my name we'll need to play another game."

"You drive a hard bargain, my lord, but I suppose I will have to take the gamble if I want to win the prize," I said in response to his statement regarding another game, a winsome smile crossing my face. "But I do at least get a kiss, wherever I want it, right? That has some possibilities." My voice was somewhat low as I met and held his gaze, leaning a bit closer to him and my eyes flashing with my teasing. "But I think a person should be well-grounded in the classics, so maybe something simple to start." With that I brought my mouth to his lightly, my tongue snaking out to run subtly across his lower lip in a fashion it was unlikely anyone but him would even notice.

I smiled when she kissed me, a smile that grew broader at the touch of her tongue. When she pulled away, I said, "Well-grounded, you certainly are." I drummed my fingers on the bar thoughtfully. "Another game, then? This one of my devising."

"That sounds like it would be the most fair way," I agreed as I pulled away and took another drink, my hands cradling the mug and a finger running along the handle lightly. "And will you name your stakes, or should I just hope to win my own without any kind of distraction?" My smile was still pleasant enough, but with the flash in my eyes of playfulness no doubt it would be a bit more enticing.

"I think you certainly could win, though I think, in the name of fairness of course, that you ought to name any other stakes once you hear what I have in mind," I said. I pointed to the bar wench who was flitting about the bar, serving drinks and collecting empty cups. "See her? Get her to kiss you, and you'll win my name."

The challenge he posed was quite an easy one for me- I had no difference in preference between women and men- but if I let him know that the game would only be made more difficult. "My further stakes?" I repeated to myself as though considering, peeking up at him from beneath my lashes. "I think a reciprocating kiss would be nice, if that suits you. Do you agree?"

"Why thank you, good sir," I replied with a smile, setting my mug down and stepping down from the stool before I smoothed my skirts and walked over to where the barmaid was working with a sweet and almost tentative smile. There was a little bit of conversation and flirting, then some touches, and then I had her lips pressed to mine for a particularly searing kiss, which I returned for a good few moments before I took my leave of her. Well, if things didn't work out with him at least I knew I'd have something else to look forward to.
Licking my lips slightly I sat back on my barstool and picked up my mug again, giving the man an expectant look.

I clapped lightly, duly impressed. "Well done," I said. "I believe I owe you a name and a kiss. Which would you like first?"

"I like to know who I'm kissing, so unless you object I think starting with a name would be a good thing," I told him with something of a smirk before taking another drink. "After all, silly, innocent girl that I am I gave you mine for free."

"You'll have to think of the next game, so I may win your name, then," I said. "As for me, I an Antoine de Silvain." With that, I leaned in to kiss her. She tasted of herself, her drink, and the other woman. The combination was intoxicating.

The kiss was a pleasant enough one and I smirked beneath his lips as I returned it, my free hand coming up to caress along his arm before I pulled away just slightly. "Well met, Lord Silvain," I replied with a slight purr. The name sounded familiar but I wasn't really of the mind to try and trace it down with all of the noise and the fun so far. "And for my name- a game? Perhaps we should see how easily you win a kiss from the same bar maid as I did earlier."

"Challenge accepted," I said, sliding off my barstool and making a beeline for the barmaid, who was bending over a table. I stood behind her and when she turned around, I grasped her about the waist and planted a big wet one on her lips. Pulling away, I saw stars as she slapped me hard across the face. "My apologies," I gasped. "I thought you were someone else." Still grinning, though, I made my way back to the bar. "Does it count if she hit me?" I asked my young companion.

You learned something about a person by how they accepted challenges and saw them through. Unless I missed my guess this man was spontaneous, a bit impulsive and very, very sure of himself. "For the sake of sheer amusement I'd say it was," I replied with a light laugh. "I'm Liselle d'Aiglemort-Montblanc, at your service I'm sure. Though I do have to say there was probably a less painful approach." Reaching up to his cheek I ran a finger across the red spot faintly.

"Mlle. Liselle, you surely have noticed that I'm a very direct man," I said. "If my direct approach gets me a palm to the cheek, then so be it." I caught the hand that touched my cheek. "Won't you kiss it and make it better?"

So he fancied himself somewhat honest in his directness- fair enough, I supposed. My own methods tended to be a trifle more subtle, if only because being a girl I could get away with it with almost no chance of failure. "If you'd like," I teased in a low tone, then leaned closer to brush a light kiss across the pinker skin that was still warm from the impact of the girl's palm.

"Just Liselle is fine, really," I told him with a playful smile. "And you must be lucky if pain disappears from something so small as that, my lord. Shall we drink some more, or are you beginning to bore with only my attention." Another tease, and another bat of my lashes as I pushed some hair back behind my ear and leaned back against the bar slightly, arching my back just slightly. "What other kind of games do you favor? I fear if I suggest more you may put yourself at risk again."
