It was a somewhat reputable hour in the evening when I finally was motivated enough to find someone to spend some time with- and very quickly Keegan came to mind. He was certainly fun, had as much penchant for trouble, besides having some talents that I very much appreciated.
Seeing as it was indeed a decent hour I decided to make my entrance through the front door, looking around and thinking of the directions he'd given me before. Likely he wouldn't be in his room, but it would at least give me a general direction to begin in. That in mind I began my way up the stairs to the second floor.

I had just finished tending to a few things after dinner and was on my way down to spend some time in the garden. I was avoiding a certain housemate who hadn't taken kindly to the jam on his pillow, and knowing he hated the gardens, I was spend a good bit of time there lately.
Turning the corner to the top of the stairs, I stopped in my tracks, a wide smile coming to my lips.
"Well hello," I said to Bayard.

"Hello to you as well," I replied, smiling to match his and eyes flashing. "Running away from someone again? I should think you'd be safe in your own home of all places. What is this world coming to?"

"In this House, home is one of the least safe places," I said with a chuckle, going down the steps that separated us. "I was heading to the gardens, care to join me?"

"Sounds good, as I was coming here to find something to do," I replied as I waited for him but shifted slightly to put my foot on the stair below me. I was tempted to tease him mercilessly, but we were still in his House and the Dowaynes were known to talk. Still, I could- just a little. A little more if I were subtle. More yet if I didn't care. I was somewhere between the latter two.
"So, did you miss me?" I joked as I shifted my hips just slightly as I began the trek back down the stairs.

"I did as a matter of fact," I replied, grinning. I let my hand smack lightly against his rear as I went past him on the stairs. "Did you miss me?"

"Would I be here if I didn't?" I countered with a more satisfied grin at feeling his hand on me, then returning the favor as I 'accidentally' bumped into him. "been getting into any trouble that I'd like to hear about?"

"Just House pranks," I said, bumping into him harder and laughing. "What about you?"

"Oh, wouldn't you love to know?" I taunted as I reached the bottom of the steps and waited to see which garden he was headed for. "If there's not something terribly fun going on I must be ill."

"Aww, poor boy," I said with unconvincing sympathy as I led him out to the back gardens. "How ever do you manage?"

"very carefully," I told him with a jesting gravity as I felt the ground under my feet change to soft grass and almost contemplated takiing my boots off. "So, what in the garden has you so interested?"

"It's not what's in the garden, but what isn't. Durnin hates the gardens, they make him sneeze, thus he will not come here looking for me," I answered as we wound our way towards the back.

" I fear to ask what you've done to this poor soul, but my curiousity cares nothign for such things," I told him smiling widely at his comment and wondering exactly where we were going.

"It was nothing really, he was acting uppity so I put a layer of berry jam between his pillow and the cover," I explained as we neared our destination. "How was I to know that instead of just giving him a sticky face that he'd end up with hives?"
We came to the opening in the back corner of the gardens where there was an abundance of mossy grass, a fish pond, and shade tress. I threw myself down on the grass and sighed happily.

Smiling, I adopted a similar pose, relaxing on my side where I could face him. "Nice little alcove you've got here," I admitted. "And that's not so bad. At least it was only hives and not rats eating his clothing or something similar. Do you think he'll get over it?"
Reaching out absently I picked up a blade of grass and blew a whistling tune through it.

"He will, as soon as the itching stops," I said, chuckling.
I kicked my boots off and wiggled my toes in the grass.
"Jules and I used to come play back here when we were growing up. We'd put on elaborate fictions, pretending to be all sorts of people. It was one of the few places we could wrestle and not end up breaking ourselves or something else."

"Right," I teased gently, not knowing how sensitive he'd be on such a subject but having a feeling not very much. "That well hidden from prying eyes?"
WEll, his shoes were coming off, and so were mine, in a very quick fashion as I then put my feet deep unto the grass. "it would be a very soft landing," I agreed, going into a backward bridge and finishing on my feet.

I laughed at his comment. It wasn't the first time someone had implied Jules and I were more than just friends, and it always made the two of us laugh.
"Very nice," I commented on his maneuver. "Are you trying to tempt me?"

"I'm always trying to tempt everyone," I teased as I straightened. "But I also just like to use my art when possible." Raising a brow, I finished with a charmingly sweet smile, "Why, do you find yourself tempted?"

"I'm always tempted," I said, laughing.
Rolling over a couple times, I made my way to the edge of the fish pond. Retrieving some bread from my pocket, I crumbled it into crumbs and sprinkled them on the water, smiling as the fish gathered to partake.

Smiling slightly to watch him- such things had never interested me overmuch, as I'd had my art to concentrate on. "If I wanted to tempt you with skill, I'd show off with something like this," I told him, then went into a springing backflip, twisting in the air to land facing the same direction I had been when I'd started. "Or at least it should work, except no one knows how difficult it is. I'd like to see you try."

I slipped into Orchis after a quick smile and a conspiratorial wink to a fosterling. I found Keegan's room, entering after a quiet knock that went unanswered. I left the gift, note attached. Thinking of you. See you at the fete. ~N
I was just closing the door to his room quietly when a girl saw me. She laughed. "Looking for Keegan? He's hiding in the garden."
I thanked her and headed in that direction, leaving the gift. He could find it later, note and all. Entering the garden, I thought I heard his faint voice, and followed it. Coming around a tree, I spotted him with another adept.

The sounds of another person drew my attention. Since there's been no cry of triumph or attack, that meant it was neither Durrin nor Jules.
Who it turned out to be was even more surprising.
"Well, isn't this the day for surprises?" I said, smiling. "Bayard no' Eglantine, I'd like you to meet Nyx no' Cereus. Unless you two have already met, then I'd like to introduce you again."

Brushing my hair back I took in the new arrival- a pretty little thing, surely, but pretty quiet for the moment. "No, not introduced yet, so thank you," I told Keegan with a smile.

I smiled at Keegan, before directing my attention to his friend. "Very nice to meet you Bayard. I hope I'm not interupting anything?"

"Can't I just pop in?" I asked, just a touch too innocently. I moved to join them, taking in Bayard's lean form with hidden appreciation. "The whole House seems to know you're in hiding. Who did you annoy this time?" My grin was small but teasing.

"Not a soul, I swear," I said, just as innocently.
I looked at Bayard. "I told Bayard the whole story and he agreed it wasn't my fault, isn't that so?" I asked him.

"that's right," I agreed, smiling widely at the pair. "It was a small prank- and it's not his fault the guy's allergic to berries. Luckily, he's also allergic to flowers- and probably everything else too."
I'd always been a font of energy and it was hard for me to hold still, so I sat cross-legged and ran my hands through the grass, hoping to find something to fidget with. "I'm sure it will only be a little while until he annoys someone else though."
