I blushed at that, ducking my head a little before looking back to her. "A bit of both I suppose. I mean I've gotten into my fair share of antics when I was at home, but they were mostly harmless, things that any young boy would manage to get into." I explained. "I'm trying to be on my best behaviour so my father lets me stay as long as I want, but I haven't really come up with a reason to get into trouble, or a person to get into trouble with."

"Well, look no more." I said, grinning over at him. "I am an expert at getting into trouble and at getting out of it. 'Never a dull moment', that's my motto." I was already wondering how he would get along at the Gauche, but then it might be awkward if we ran into Gadleon. Or fun, depending... Pulling my mind out of the gutter, I smiled. "Or, if you like, you can show me how to behave."

I laughed. "What about a trade." I suggested with a bright grin. "You show me some fun antics, and I'll show you how be a proper court lady." I teased. I pressed my heal to my horse's flank and made him yield, making it so that our horses walked side by side. I reached over and offered my hand as if making a bet.

I laughed, taking his hand and shaking it. "All right, but I warn you, you have your work cut out for you!" It was true - although I wasn't without manners, I certainly had never spent time at court nor with many above my station. And I had a penchant for saying things that were likely to shock people, which was fun for me, but less so for others.
"I think I have the better end of this deal." I added, chuckling.

My face went serious as I looked at her. "Oh I would have disagree." I said as I looked at her, her eyes, her hair, beautiful I was the lucky one that got to spend time with her. She had no idea how appealing this was for me, for me to be able to see her and get to know her. She said she was bad, not worthy, I guess I would decide that for myself. With that I broke the serious look on my face and let spread a wide grin before turning my gaze forward.

His serious gaze was a bit disconcerting - it wasn't the way men usually looked at me. I was relieved when his grin returned, and I let loose a breath that I hadn't been aware I was holding in. As we continued on toward the place where we would have to part, I pondered what sort of trouble I might get Maric into. Drinking and gambling in Night's Doorstep? Perhaps a little old-fashioned debauchery? The possibilities were endless, and it was a few minutes before I broke the easy silence.
"I shall have to think long and hard on the right sort of antics for us to get into." I said, flashing him a grin.

"Think long and hard." I suggested with a bit of a teasing squint. "I'll expect nothing but the best." I added and as I puffed out my chest and then chuckled.

I laughed, thinking that he did seem to be the type that was accustomed to the best. "I shall endeavor to do my best." I said, as Chretienne pulled forward a bit. He wanted to run, I could tell, but it certainly wouldn't do to have a mad gallop through town, so I kept him under tight control and he responded, though I could feel his disappointment. I patted his head and smiled to Maric. "Perhaps we can take the horses out to exercise one day."

"Of course." I said grinning at her. "I thought we already agreed that we would." I chuckled as I looked at her.

"I just don't want you changing your mind." I said with a laugh. "And Chretienne was just reminding me."

I laughed, loud and gleeful as I looked at her. "Oh, you don't have to worry about that." I said grinning. "I want to test the mettle of your mount to mine."

I laughed, patting Chretienne's head. "Well, he might not be the best mount in the world, but he's all mine, and that's what counts." I felt a little self-conscious, so I looked over at him and said, "You probably think it's silly, but Chretienne is my closest friend."

I knitted my brows gently, the knowledge both did and did not surprise me. But I simply smiled. "I don't think its silly at all." I said softly. "Friends come in all forms." I observed.

I relaxed at his words, wondering what had even possessed me to make that confession. Not having any friends of the human variety, I wasn't accustomed to sharing my feelings with anyone. "Well, Chretienne might not be the best conversationalist, but he is quite the good listener." I looked over at him and grinned as I spoke.

I chuckled gently, but smiled at her, letting my face betray kind honesty. "You know, there are probably people out there that are good listeners. But you probably need to cultivate a relationship that takes place outside the bedroom." I teased with a wink.

I laughed at that, then shook my head. "I don't know about that - most of the people I've ever spent time with out of the bedroom has been rather tiresome." I saw as I spoke that we were nearing the place where the streets would diverge into our respective boroughs. Chretienne was trying to pick up the pace, knowing the promise of a good grooming and treats were on the horizon, and I had to rein him in gently. "Someone is rather eager to get home." I said with a soft chuckle.

I raised a brow, suddenly serious for a moment, most of the people I've ever spent time with out of the bedroom has been rather tiresome. What did that say about me? "I'm glad you think so highly of me." I murmured more to myself then anything else. I sighed and looked away and then back to her. "See you around Ate." I said looking back to her and shook my head and winked, a brief smile touching my lips and then booted my mount, driving him into a gallop as I headed toward the West Borough.

I flushed when I realized how that sounded; I hadn't meant him, of course, I was thinking more about people like my 'friends' from home, but before I could apologize to him, he was ready off, galloping down the street as if Kushiel himself were at his heels. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. Way to go, Naia. I thought. Well, if he meant it about seeing me again, I would apologize then, though his wink and smile gave me hope that he knew I hadn't been referring to him.
With that, I followed suit, letting Chretienne run the way he obviously wanted to, heading for home.
