"Would he now?" I said, smiling softly, trying to keep the blush off of my cheeks. I tried to think of a better response, but nothing leapt to mind. We walked on in some silence, and I was beginning to wonder how far it was to Elua's Square. I decided it wouldn't hurt just to ask him, so I said, "How much further?"

I laughed. "Tsk tsk," I murmured, waggling my finger on my free hand, "aren't we rather anxious. A few more minutes, I promise, then we will be there. Are you bored already, Sophine?" I questioned, furrowing my brows and pursing my lips in mock sadness.

I laughed, then. "No, no, not at all. I was merely curious." I squeezed his hand reassuringly. "I am still trying to learn my way around." We had to stop suddenly then, as a group of children ran across our path, laughing breathlessly. I smiled at them, watching them go. They reminded me of my niece and nephew, who I already loved dearly. "Aren't they cute?" I said, looking up at Luc.

I squeezed her hand back gently, looking down at her, and nearly plowing into a throng of children running across our path had I not noticed Sophine stopped. I watched after them with a smile, and chuckled at their innocent folly. "They are," I replied returning my gaze to hers. "Like that little niece of yours. So absolutely adorable." I smiled, remembering how she confronted me about Sophine earlier that day. "Have you spoiled her rotten yet?" I asked with a soft laugh, continuing on. I could hear the gurgle of the fountain faintly in the distance. We were almost there.
