"Perhaps." I agreed, taking another small sip. "We can cross needlepoint, really any sewing at all if I'm being honest, painting, drawing, singing, and dancing off of the list." I gave a short, self-mocking laugh. "Really, what's left?" I raised a brow. "Can shopping be considered an art form?"

“I suppose it could be,” I said, laughing.

"Well, there, we found something I'm good at." I chuckled. "What about you, do you have anything you do that you would consider an art form?"

“Well, my needlepoint and embroidery is good,” I said, thinking. “Anything else would likely have to do with olives. My family grows olives and makes products from them.”

"Oh that's interesting." I said, leaning forward. "What sorts of things do you make?" I really did find it interesting, as I did most subjects I didn't know much about.

“Oils, preserved olives, and even some breads and meats with olives in them sometimes,” I answered, smiling. “It’s more fun that it probably sounds, I love helping.”

"It sounds lovely. And delicious, I might add." I thought my stomach might rumble, but I was saved from that humiliation and it stayed quiet. "Bread with olives in it sounds really good, actually."

“I have some loaves at my house, I can have a couple sent to your house if you’d like,” I told her.

"Oh, I would love that, if it's not too much trouble. I love trying new foods." I stretched a bit languidly. "I think all of this wine is making me tired." I laughed softly, "Speaking of food, perhaps I shouldn't be drinking on an empty stomach. Are you hungry?"

“No, I’m fine, but go ahead if you’re hungry,” I said. “And it’s not a problem at all to send a couple loaves over to you.”

"Well, thank you, I'm sure my family and I will enjoy them." I gestured toward the server and ordered a light salad. "Sorry, I didn't eat this morning and I'm famished."
While we were waiting, another performer had begun a juggling act, and I pointed it out to Raegan. "Look there!" I smiled as I watched. "Well, you definitely see some interesting things here."

“That you do,” I said, my smile growing as the juggler performed. I loved watching juggling and tumbling, I thought the performers were so talented.

I was fascinated by the juggling, and barely noticed when my salad arrived. "That is really amazing." I said to Raegan, finally seeing my food and taking a bite. "I imagine that if I were to try such a thing, someone might end up unconscious."

“The same would happen if I was to try,” I said with a laugh. “Plus a whole lot of broken items.”

I laughed with her, "We should try it sometime; if only for comic relief!" I took another bite of my salad. "The food here is pretty good too. I wonder if my sister has been here, I'd love to bring my family here to eat." I took a sip of my wine and smiled.

“This does seem like a fun place to bring a family,” I agreed. Then I applauded at the juggler finished with a flamboyant twirl.
“Oh, that was wonderful!”

I joined her in applauding the performance. "It really was. I think I have found my new favorite place to eat." My original favorite place was the kitchen at the du Verais residence, but I didn't mention that. People must get sick of hearing about my homesickness at some point! "We should definitely come back."

"Exactly." I finished off my salad and leaned back. "Well, that was perfect." I looked to Raegan and grinned. "Now what?"

I glanced out the window to judge the time. “Now I think I should be getting home so that I can be there when my packages arrive,” I said, smiling and looking back at her. “I need to find places for all my new things.”

I nodded, rising and counting out some coin for our fare. "You're probably right, though I could stay here forever." I smiled. "My sister will probably be looking for me by now anyway." I rolled my eyes to show what a pain I thought Dyan was. "Would you like to walk back together?"

“Yes, I’d like that,” I said, rising. Laying down coin for my wine and then gathering my things.

"Well," I said, as we gathered our things and left the Laughing Parrot, "thank you so much for shopping with me and showing me some sights. I've really been enjoying the afternoon." It was beautiful outside, a fine summer day and I was glad to walk home. "Do you live nearby?" I asked, wondering even as I said it if I lived close by.

“Yes, I’m close but I still brought a carriage to carry some of my purchases,” I said. “Where do you think your sister is?”

"I have no idea." I confessed, looking up and down the street. I was suddenly realized that my sister was likely to be quite put out with me for disappearing once again. "The last time I saw her was where we first met. I suppose the thing to do is head home; I'm sure she'll turn up there eventually." I said, as if Dyan were the one who was lost.

I glanced at Sophine, wondering if she was going to get into trouble. “I’m sorry if I’ve ended up causing you an issue with your sister,” I said.

"Oh, don't worry," I said, waving my hand negligently, "it's no fault of yours. I just prefer to see the city without my sister breathing down my neck. I make it a habit to wander off whenever possible." I laughed, then made a face. "I'm a terrible trial to my sister." I confessed. "I just can't seem to help it!"

“I’m sure you’re not that bad,” I said, laughing. I stopped as we’d arrived at my carriage. “Do you need a ride?”

"That would be lovely, thank you." I smiled. "You've been quite a huge help today. I hope I can repay you somehow." I liked the idea of riding home in a carriage, as I was pleasantly full of wine and lunch.

My footman held the door open for us and i stepped in. "No need to repay me," I said, smiling. "That's what friends are for. Where do you live?"
