"Are you thinking traditional, or a little unique?" I asked, thinking about different names.

"Probably a bit unique, but we have tossed around a lot of both," I answered.

"Hmm," I said thoughtfully. "Well there is Aislinn, or Portia for a girl."

"Portia," I said, trying out the name. "Portia L"Envers....that might work."

"She's also a very clever heroin of a play I just read," I said with a chuckle. "And then for a boy.... Paris, or maybe Raoul. Or Jax."

I mulled over the names. “Paris isn’t bad. If it’s a boy I’d like to give him a variation of Elliot’s name, but he doesn’t seem thrilled with that,” I said.

"That would be nice, if he didn't mind. What sort of variation were you thinking of?" I asked interestedly.

“I like Eli,” I told her. “We could even name him Elliot and call him Eli.” I smiled softly. “I almost get the feeling Elliot is hoping for a girl, he seems more interested in girl names.”

"Well, if it's a boy, you could always call him Barquiel. We haven't had another one come along yet," I said with a smile. "What about you? What are you hoping for?"

“Either one…” I started, giving the answer that was expected but I stopped, unable to lie to Juliette. “A son, I want to give Elliot a son.” My hands softly stroked my stomach. “We have plans for a large family, but who knows what the gods have planned for us. I want to give him a son first so that no matter what happens in the future I’ve done that much.”

I nodded in understanding. "I don't blame you, the future is always uncertain," I told her with a soft smile.

“That’s horrible of me, isn’t it? I shouldn’t have a preference,” I said, looking down at the swell of my belly.

"Is it horrible for Elliot to want a girl?" I asked. "Caraf, I know you, and you're going to love that babe to pieces no matter what its gender is."

Her words brought tears to my eyes and I wiped at them. “Thank you,” I said softly.

I reached over and squeezed her hand gently. "It's just the truth," I told her with a smile. "You're going to be a marvelous mother."

“Thank you,” I said again, turning my hand up so I could squeeze her hand. “Sometimes I wonder if I am going to have any idea what to do.”

"Of course you will. You taught in Heliotrope didn't you?" I said. "That's more than what I have."

I had to chuckle at her logic. “Yes, I taught and I adored it. It was one of my favorite parts of the day,” I said, smiling. I squeezed her hand again. “Thank you so much Juliette, you are such a good friend.”

"I forgot if I asked this - have you decided on a number?" I asked with a smile, wondering how many baby cousins I might have.

“Not exactly,” I said, chuckling. “The total gets vague after four or five. I think Elliot would like a nice dozen or so.”

"A dozen? You'd be pregnant for the rest of your life," I said with a laugh. "Unless he's planning on getting twins off of you."
