I'd been about to walk in the same direction as Darien suddenly the acolyte was among us, chattering with the Princessa in a rather friendly fashion.
Kjezan? I gave her an informal bow before straightening; in my homeland, she wouldn't have received it, but I was not one to snub the religions of another country. Especially not the county where my brother would marry the Queen of and live in. Besides, I didn't condone rudeness.
"Lady Murain," I said in recognized greet as I straightened, unsure of how else to address her. I didn't bother correcting her pronunciation of my title; she seemed as if she were leaving, and I was sure I butchered enough d'Angeline words to make my old language professor weep.

The stall closest was offering dried meats and I glanced up to make a comment to the Ruskovian prince, but realized he was still speaking with the women. So I focused my attention back on the meat and judging its quality.

I was a bit surprised when the taller man, who's name I had not quiet figured out becuase I wasn't sure if it were a title or formality, acknowledged me. He scarce seemed interested in what I had to say. I was returning from my bow to see if any responded. To find it was him surprised me. It had starteled me and when I met his gaze as he bowed I tried to read his expression. Nothing. It was quiet perpelxing and because I could read nothing of his I found him absoulutely intoxicating. "You as well" I tried to hold as chalanging a gaze as he as I spoke, "if you ever would like to see the Temple please feel free to visit, though I may be more in need of a lesson. I'm afraid I know nothing of Ruskovia. A disadvantage I'd be gratful to address." I didn't smile or nod. Instead I tried to mimic his impassive and formal tone. Surely these Ruskovian's must be a hard folk. I wondered.

I blinked trying to figure out what had happened, she looked a fright like she would run away. I felt a twinge of hurt as I understood the feeling she must be going through, I had felt the same before, the sting of embarassment. I smiled to her though, wanting to make sure she knew she wasn't alone.
"Yes my lord," I said softly. "I think I could use a lesson or two as well." I smiled to Astrede. "I confess that I'm not aware of Ruskovia's customs and standing. Is it your...brother...who is to wed the Queen?"

I looked at the young acolyte as she spoke to me, my thoughts turning from dismissive to a little more curious. She wasn't flaunting her body at me or anyone else, and the interest she showed at learning seemed something more than just conversation. Still, I wasn't sure.
When the Princessa spoke I turned my gaze to her, more respectful due to her title and position in her own country, though in good truth both women befuddled me. The one who seemed sure of herself was the younger acolyte while the Princessa was pleasant and sweet, but seemed as if she were innocent in ways that confused me. Women.
A smile broke over my mouth as I nodded, including both women in my response. The acolyte... I was unsure of her, now. "Yes, Princessa. My older brother, Alexei Romanov; he is..." Is... Damnit, what was the word... "...engaged to marry Terra d'Ange's Queen." I paused, wondering how much they knew, how much the even wanted to. From what I could gather given what both had said to me, neither knew very much at all about Ruskovia. What they didn't say said as much as what they did. "Our father is the Tsar of Ruskovia; King, in d'Angeline terms."

"Ah, you are a Prince then. I'm sorry I didn't recognize the title." I could feel my cheeks flush a bit in embarassment. "I hope you don't think it crass of me, but I would like to hear what Ruskovia is like? It would be important to know as our country's will be in strong ties with each other." I was beginning to get warm. I looked up and noticed how high the sun was getting. I doubted I would get as much information I would like when it's strength began to beat down on us.

I paused, looking at her. "You want to know what Ruskovia is like?" I said, for once not really minding the thick accent that laid heavy on my tongue. "It is harsh and wild, but beyond beautiful. When the sun rises in the winter, its clear rays are reflected a thousand times over off the snow, the hills, the mountains. The people are strong and proud, loving and gentle. The animals are sturdy, able to take temperatures that would freeze the bottoms of your ears off in a matter of minutes." I reached up and touched my own for emphasis, my eyes still on hers. "It is a strong land, but the people and the animals stronger."
I smiled at her, kindly and not at all mocking, as I began to feel I understood her a little more. "Does that clarify, even a little, Lady Murain?" I asked quietly.

I gave him a very broad smile. Some of it was hard to understand though his accent. I followed well enough. "It does thank you. Though it's hard to imagin. Such a great amount of snow is not known to me. I admit freezing my ears off doesn't sound to appealling." I giggled a little and looked down as I hoped my comment didn't offend him. "I must say a land of such strong, willful people sounds beautiful though. Something I admire." I paused for a moment wondering if I should continue with what I was considering saying... I did. judging by the passion he used in discribing his land, I guessed him to be someone who would appreciate a bit of boldness. "I had always been a willful child, it sounds as if Ruskovia is the type of bold country I would enjoy."

"Could traveling be permitted in Naamahs service?" The word, Naamah - it felt so very strange on my tongue that I was sure I mispronounced it even though I knew how to say it correctly. I looked at her, then glanced at the Princessa, wondering what she thought. She was very pretty as well, if talkative one moment and quiet the next.

I glanced back to Darien for a moment smiling at him as he continued to shop giving him a wink before I looked to the others. I was gaining a great deal of information here and was thinking on it when Sergei's eyes came to mine and I blushed without thinking. My head ducked down a little and my face felt warm before I looked up at him with a smile.

"Travelling permitted..." I smiled at the irony of it. "How truely ironic you ask, why I guess you would say it's mandatory." I was glad for the oppertunity to talk about it.
"It just so happens I'm in the marekte today preparing for the greatest trip of my life. You see, an acolyte must complete a year in Naamah's Service. During this time they wander Terre d'Ange and are forbidden to refuse anyone who seeks them out of true longing. This is to help them to better understand the sacrifice Naamah made in sleeping with the King of Persis and in the market of Bohdistan. In return Naamah blesses them with desire for each patron. After this year of service they are a preist or priestess."
I looked first at the Pricessa and Sergi while I explained myself, then to Darien. I knew he would understand and perhaps offer any helpful comment. I wasn't sure it would all come together so well.
I looked briefly back at them and lifted my flowers for a casual inspection. "It may sound complicated, but it can be difficult to summorize." I offered in closing.

My shopping had carried me to another stall and I glanced back at the group. They seemed to be getting on well, at least that was how it looked from here. I had been enjoying Lola’s company and had been looking forward to speaking more with the Ruskovian prince, but there was apparently more interest in an acolyte of Naamah.
I focused on the goods offered at the stall again, jars of preserves and sacks of biscuits. After this maybe I would head home.

And there it was again, a reminder of who she was, what she did. She was proud of it - as she should be, I supposed, given it was one of her gods that she should be, but it was not something I was used to.
An easy smile on my face, I nodded, then issued a small, short bow. "And I wish you well with it, Acolyte. I fear I must continue with my shopping now; there is something I must purchase. If you will excuse me..."
I turned to the Princessa and bowed again, deeper, and gave her a small grin after I straightened. "Princessa," I said, drawing the title out a little more before turning and making my way down the street. Darien wasn't too far away and I paused at the vendor he was at, glancing sideways at him. "How did you manage to escape so easily?" I asked, flashing him an amused grin.

“Escape?” I asked, confused. “I was just finishing my shopping.” I held up my bag to show him my purchases.

As he wished, at least he was polite. Though it was unfortunate to see him go. He was such a stricking figure. Not the only near me though. His departure allowed me to focus on the princessa again. "So Princessa Lola, what do you think of my invitation to see the Sancuary of Naamah? The Temple district is lovely. I would be hoonred to show you around. IN fact we evenhave a fine Aragonian resteraunt there."

I nodded and looked over the wares, deciding I really wasn't that interested in what they had to sell here. "Do you know where they might sell decorated pins?" I asked, touching my breast to indicate the sort I wanted, where I would like to wear it at.

“I do, though none that are open at the moment. Once the plague is cleared and the stores open again I know a place with lovely items and an honest owner,” I said, smiling as I paid for the last of my items and tucked them in my bag.

I couldn't help blush more as the foreign Prince bowed and gave me a deep grin. Oh mardre, I felt a blustery warmth through my body and hoped I'd meet up with him again some time. He walked back to Darien and I smiled before turning to Astrede. It appears I'm only finding foreigners attractive.
"How interesting." I said smiling to her. "Well then, I should certainly think about calling on you then."

"Well please do if you can." I bowed again in parting. "Beg my pardon but it is getting late and I have finished my purchasing for the day. I'm afraid I must ask to take leave and return to the Temple District. It's been a great pleasure to met you Princessa."

"It was a pleasure to meet you too Astrede." I said curtsying to her. "I hope to see you soon then." I turned and began to walk toward the two gentlemen.
"What did you find my lord Marquist?" I said smiling as I curtsied again, as is always custom when taking the audience of gentlemen. "You're hearts content I hope." I gave him a pleasent smile and hoped I hadn't been interupting.

"I shall have to garner the name from you another time, then," I said, noticing the Princessa approaching just as I finished speaking. I fell silent and let them speak, my posture and smile easy.

I smiled softly to them. "I imagine this doesn't happen much." I said indicating the plague but realizing I might have to elaborate. "The sickness I mean." I added with a heavy blush as I glanced to either men, both handsome in their own way.

I shook my head slightly; I had no idea what d'Angelines were used to with sicknesses, but it seemed as if our arrival was timed very poorly if this was the first in Dariens lifetime. I cleared my throat slightly, looking down the lane. "I see a few stands I should like to visit," I said, bowing slightly at the hips, indicating I meant to walk on but leaving it open for company if either or both would like to join me.

I looked up into the sky and curtsied deeply. "I would love to join you my lords, but I should be going myself." I said softly. I wanted to stay longer and chat more but I knew I had things to take care of.
"It was a pleasure meeting both of you, I hoped to see you again. Darien, Prince Sergei." I said smiling with another curtsy. I turned from them and headed back in the direction of the palace.

Lola left before I could give her my farewell and I shook my head slightly. I looked at Sergei.
“I should get my purchases home. I’ll see you about that sitting soon?” I asked, hoping he hadn’t changed his mind.
