And as we made our way my humor improved. I spent a little time watching Juliette and wondering how she was always so knowledgeable on such mundane things. Probably the fact she worked right along side the servants and laborers. Something I never understood. They had their jobs and we nobles had ours and each really should fill their place. I was born more high and thus by birth it was my duty to rule them. It was the way Elua and the others gods planned things and I would not dispute them.

I nodded with a smile. We stopped to pick up the watercress, and then I led them through the maze to the spice stall. I smiled to the wizened old man that owned the stall, and picked out a smaller ginger root. We spoke for a few minutes, he had a new order of saffron that had just come in, and was impressed with the quality. I took him at his word, knowing Chef would be pleased with the purchase. I put the ginger and the small packet of saffron in Mathieu's basket. "I think we're all done." I told them.

I peered in the basket as Juliette announced the end to the vegetable shopping, looking over the selections with a curious eye. It all looked wonderfully good, and I was smiling as I glanced to the two of them. "Back to the townhome, then?" I asked, not directing to either in particular.

I smiled as a few thoughts sifted through my mind "Looks like it. We can take the carriage back and then meet you there for the evening meal, what do you think Juliette?"

I agreed, not wanting to impose on their time together. There was obviously quite a fondness springing up between the two. "Of course. Just try not to take forever, we have to have the food at the house to start cooking." I teased them, trying very hard not to think about what they might be doing that would delay their arrival. "Until then."

I watched Juliette go and then turned to lead Aurianne back toward the carriage. Maybe my sister and I could work it out, but then again there still was a bit of chaffing between us.
