We headed out from Alyssum, taking in the brilliantly cold sunlight. I was bundled up fairly well as we headed for the clothiers' section. I didn't know anyone there in particular who made masques, butboth LaValle and I needed inspiration.

Walking between the stalls, I kept pace with Adin to the best of my ability and clanced up from time to time, to see if I could spot anything interesting for either one of us. There were quite a few stalls featuring masques, but none really that had a lot of rabbits. "There's some over there," I said quietly, pointing off to the left.

I followed his finger and nodded. We made our way over through the moderate bustle. There were enough people around to make me feel a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn't as busy as some days I had visited. We moved to a quieter corner to look at the stall's offerings.
LaValle had been correct, there was a fair selection of rabbit masques. I looked them over, but couldn't find one that I liked. I glanced at LaValle, seeing if something had caught his eye.

Looking though the rabbit masques, I saw a couple I could choose if I had to, but nothing quite right. Looking at Adin, I shook my head slightly. I'd picked this stall, so he got to pick the next.

I looked around for a few seconds, finding another promising-looking stall. I gestured and we headed over through the sounds of a Tsiangi group singing. This kiosk had a larger selection, and I looked through the rabbit masques. I found a grey one that would match my suit and held it up for inspection. "This one?"

Stepping closer to Adin I gently took the mask from his grasp and held it up before me; it had an expression of softness, almost as though it were about to fall asleep, and long floppy ears that ran along its face. Smiling, I said, "It's perfect," and then held it before my face. "What do you think?"

Lost in thought of ideas for my outfit for the masque, I wandered into the City and found myself in the clothiers district. One shop caught my eye and I entered looking around too see if there was anything I could use. As I searched I saw a pair of youn men trying on masques. One held up a masque od a rabbit and I deduced that they were from Alyssum. Walking over I smiled.
"I think it's marvoulous." I said to the one holding the masque to his face.

Startled into action almost like the rabbit I was holding would have been I almost dropped the mask and just managed to keep it in my grasp. Flushing slightly I let my hair fall in front of my face and glanced up at the young man between the blonde-brown strands. "Thank you," I said quietly as I glanced back down, a light flush coming to my cheeks.

I smiled and extented my hand.
"Xavier no Balm." I said introducing myself.

Swinging the mask into one hand I smiled more widely and took his hand. "LaValle no' Alyssum," I said quietly as I shook. Once the handshake was over I pushed my hair back slightly though, as usual, it fell right back in front of my face as long as my eyes were downcast. "How are you?"

I nodded. "I'm well, thank you." I smiled looking to his companion. "Trying to find a masque same as you I'd gather."

The new arrival took me by surprise, and I responded a beat later than I should have. "Adin nó Alyssum." I said quietly, holding my hand out. "What is the theme for Balm?"

I shook the hand of Adin and smiled.
"Frog." I said raising a brow and smiling.

I smiled softly. "We get to go as rabbits. I never thought I would dress up like a bunny."

I smiled back at Adin.
"Yes, I've heard all of the themes for the house." I said smiling wryly and giving him and longing look at his body.
"I'm sure you'll make a lovey bunny." I said teasingly.

I smiled softly again. "Well thank you. Might I inquire if you've seen any good rabbit masques? My companion seems to have lucked out, leaving me behind in the dust."

I shook my head. "I'm afraid not friend." I said looking over the walls and shelves for something.
"What type of rabbit would you go as? A loppy bunny, or perhaps a springy hare?" I teased again as I looked for a masque.

I kept my manner easy, if not inviting. "I really don't know. I was hoping to find some inspiration in the market."

I nodded finding a rabbit mask of black.
"What about this one?" I asked bringing it back to him, it was modest in size and price but I found the black was haunting and even more striking against his features.

I looked at it, noting the richness of the colour. Turning away, I slipped it over my head and then returned to my original position. "What do you think?"

I smiled.
"Very nice." I said reaching out and touching the masque softly. "I think it suits, then again who am I?" I jested.

Smiling shyly, I nodded. "I agree, it looks very nice," I said softly, watching the interaction between the two of them. Xavier was obviously flirting with Adin and it made me uncomfortable to be around- I was too shy for such things. Still, I tried to pay attention to the conversation but not the innuendos.

Poor LaValle. There was no one who more fit the canon of Alyssum, and even as one who had similar qualities, I often forgot. I smiled comfortingly at him and then turned to pay for the masque. The price was modest, which was a bonus considering how much I hated haggling, and I returned in a few moments. "Now all I need is a ruffled shirt. I have the rest of my costume at home."

"Its not as complete as it could be." I said after a moment of thought. "I think tails are in order for both of us."

"I' look forward to seeing them." I said smiling to Adin and LaValle. "Did you need help finding tails?" I asked looking to both of them.

I spoke before LaValle could react, knowing that he would only turn a horrible shade of red. Smiling, I replied, "We could always use more company."

I smiled wryly at the two of them.
"Perhaps you could repay me for helping you with your costume by helping me with mine." I said wearing a large grin.

I turned to LaValle, wanting to make him feel included. I also didn't want to be left alone in the face of Xavier's roving eyes. "What do you think for him?"
