"Your words are poetry. I wish I could speak good enough to do that," I said. Oh Laima, how did I want to lean in and steal a kiss from those lush lips...

"You speak very well," I assured him with a smile, continuing to stroke his cheek and a bit into the hair over his ear. "But I think I could understand you with no words at all, if you wished to communicate that way.
I could read something of desire in his eyes, though not what toward, and for a moment I wondered if he were nearly as innocent as I. Still, the thought didn't keep me from tentatively leaning forward and touching his lips with my own, faint as a breath. Eisheth have mercy on me if that was wrong, but I couldn't help myself.

Her words confused me, right up until she leaned forward and pressed her lips to mine. Then they became crystal clear. I kissed her back gently, my hand coming up to cup her head beneath her ear. She tasted like I remembered, achingly sweet.

His lips were warm and soft and I moaned softly in pleasure, prickles of sensation running wonderfully over my skin as I leaned closer against him. I was half-worried that at any motion to deepen the kiss he'd pull back and refuse me, but I couldn't help myself from opening my mouth slightly in gentle invitation.

I rubbed my thumb along her cheekbone as her lips parted to allow me a greater taste. Gods, I felt like I was drowning in her kiss. Finally I drew back slightly, breaking the kiss to draw in a shuddering breath. "Perkunas, Tabiti and Laima," I murmured the prayer for strength. "You are a wed'ma. A wonderful, precious sorceress."

As his lips left mine I drew a deep breath, dazed a bit by pleasure and desire. I'd felt him teetering on the edge, that he enjoyed and wanted more, but unyielding to it- and as much as I similarly wanted to see him in that state I couldn't push him to it. It would be cruel, and make him withdraw even further. "Thank you," I instead whispered, hand still on his face. "Sometimes I wish I truly was. I'd-" At what I'd been about to say I flushed brightly.

"You are. With your smile you could command the world. I am rather glad you do not though," I told her with a crooked smile. "If you did, you would never have time to see me." Oh how I wanted to close that distance and kiss her again. But I was so afraid of pushing her, us to fast. I did not want to mess this up.

"If that were true I'd command you to kiss me again, though I worry it would be an unwilling obedience," I said softly, flushing a bit. "I have no desire to order anything else at the moment."

“I am not unwilling,” I said, still smiling that crooked smile. The temptation was too great. I leaned in and again kissed those lips that were as soft as I always imagined a cloud would feel.

Smiling a bit less hesitantly myself I returned his kiss even as I gave in to it, allowing him as much or as little as he desired, my hand shifting back to caress the hair at the back of his head. I enjoyed the feel and taste of his mouth a great deal; whether or not I ever received more of him than this, I could be content in what he'd given me.

How I wanted nothing more than to fall into her arms. To kiss her until the sun set and rose once more. To feast fully on her taste.
I kissed her far longer than I probably should have, getting drunk off her mouth, my arm snaking around so I could lightly trace the lines of her back. Finally I pulled away, my breathing uneven and my eyes clenched shut as I struggled to regain control.

Gasping in pleasure and biting back an involuntary sound of dismay that almost left my throat I tried to catch my breath, dizzy with sensation and willing myself to not follow him. He wouldn't have pulled away if he didn't want space. "What is it?" I asked softly, noting his expression.

I opened my eyes at her question, and was stuck once more by her angelic face. "You are... so beautiful," I murmured, my thumb tracing the line of her cheekbone. I paused, struggling for words to explain what I was going through. "Lessa... I wish for things with you that I can not have. Not right now." I said the words, knowing it might drive her away. But I felt compelled to answer her question.

"I don't understand," I said softly, though probably with different meaning than he thought I would have. "Why can't you have them?"

"We are not married," I replied, feeling strange explaining it. It was so odd to me that I would have to put the thought to words. I knew it was different here in Terre d'Ange, but I could not put aside my beliefs in this matter. An honourable man did not take the virtue of a gently reared lady. The only women who had ended up in my bed had been commoners, and even then they received the greatest of respect from me.

"Oh," I replied, flushing brightly. "I understand. My apologies- I didn't mean to offend you. I know that it is different for you than it likely is for me and I will try to remember in the future. Sometimes I just seem to forget myself. It isn't easy for me to deny what I feel and desire."

Oh gods, I had made her feel guilty. I instantly felt terrible. "Oh no Lessa, do not feel bad," I said, my hand going to hers. "It is not easy for me too. I want to kiss you and... and... I always want more with you. More time, more kisses..." More everything.
I stroked the hand I held. "But it is my duty to you that I have needs to think about." I looked into her eyes, praying she understood.

"I know something of duty myself," I told him with a smile, leaning into his touch a bit though I was careful to restrain any actions that could be too easily taken further. "We d'Angelines are simply lucky in that often the two are never a detriment to each other. I wish it could also be so for you, so that you wouldn't suffer so."

Smiling more softly I nodded in understanding. "And what else makes you happy?" I asked curiously, thinking that perhaps a change of subject to something less sensational would make the longing, even if it was slight on his part, easier to bear. "Did you ever manage to find a massage during your stay?"

I blinked, wondering if I had missed something, or had said or done something wrong. The change of topic seemed rather abrupt. But I rallied and replied, not sure what else I could do. "No I did not. Many businesses were closed. But I hope I will have one soon."

He'd mentioned that I made him happy- but now my curiosity was aroused and I wondered what else made him so. The idea of a massage had intrigued him and I wondered if he'd tell me about his enjoying himself, but he seemed confused. I was always so tongue-tied around him. "There's always Balm, I hear they're very good," I offered. "And I remember you said you wanted to experience such a thing. Forgive me if I'm prying- but I only wanted to hear about what you'd been doing most recently."

And now it seemed we were both a little flustered. "I do not know what prying means. But I am happy to tell you anything," I told her with a smile, trying to even the waters between us. "Recently, I was walking the garden we have at the townhouse that Alexei found for us. I found a very good tree to sit, and I have been going there to read many books."

"To pry, in the most basic sense, means 'to pull open'," I explained, smile growing steadily stronger as I leaned against him the slightest bit, ready to pull back quickly and with an apology if he resisted. "In the physical sense, to pull open a box or rip a stone from the ground; in terms of speaking it can be taken as 'to try and pull information from a person unwillingly'. I wanted to make sure I wasn't asking you to speak about something you in which you weren't comfortable."
I knew my explanation was a long one, so I made sure to speak clearly and pause at times so he could work out the meanings of what I'd said, but in a subtle fashion. "I enjoy reading a great deal too, though I usually do so in my solarium, where I also do my painting."

I nodded solemnly at her explanation. It was a good word to know. And then she leaned against me and I smiled. "Solarium," I said slowly, tasting the word. "A sun room?" I asked, trying to puzzle out the meaning. "I am sorry, I do not have a good vocabulary."

"Yes- it has a great deal of windows and is round, so the light is always good," I explained, glad he hadn't moved but too shy to say or show it. Still, I felt myself growing more lighthearted again as my body relaxed. "Many use it for sewing, but I'm not terribly good at it and instead use it to paint."

Steeling my courage I pressed a bit closer to him, laying my head lightly against his shoulder and knowing if he decided to jerk away now I'd look very silly indeed. "The light probably helps, but beauty is mostly in the eye of the beholder," I teased lightly as I glanced up at him.

Oh Laima, if she had any idea the picture she made, looking up at me through her lashes like that. My hand came up under the pretense of tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, but I caressed her cheek and neck before and after. "Sometimes, beauty is very real," I murmured, looking into her every varying blue eyes. "To the eyes of everyone."

His hand ran gently over my skin and I arched toward it unconsciously, flushing a bit with pleasure of his touch and what I hoped dearly was a compliment. "In Terre d'Ange that sort of beauty is common," I nearly whispered. "But even here there are degrees of it, and I cannot claim to have ever possessed the skill to encompass the greatest part of such loveliness."
