"People can be so short-sighted and selfish." I said letting a low throb creep into my voice as my thumb crept up her inner thigh.

Unless it came to reading, I was never one for patience. Smiling slightly to hear the want in his voice as I withheld my own instinct to wriggle slightly closer to his hand I instead let mine creep another inch up his leg as well. "Some people can, yes," I agreed, eyes flashing slightly. "But some are not."

"That's right, some are generous, and patient and far seeing." I wasn't sure if she was even paying attention to my words anymore. I was barely paying attention anymore for that matter. The soft skirt under my hand, or rather the even softer leg beneath it, was far more intriguing than anything I was likely to say in the next few minutes.

This time I only half-heard what he said; personally, I was rather tired of talking and was feeling more inclined to act, but some people cared about appearances and so I kept my patience as much as I could. "It's true- but unfortunately, most of those people are the jokers themselves," I said, my voice pitched slightly lower and with an undertone of a purr.

Fishing in my pocket for a second I pulled out what was undoubtedly enough for my two pints, as well as Jess', it occured to me I didn't know her full name, glasses of wine, and a generous tip on top of that. "How did you come here?" I asked.

"I walked," I said with a grin, wondering what he'd had in mind. "Lately I've become a bit of a wanderer as well, a useful hold-over from my time in the country. What about yourself?"

Smilling I said, "I too walked." Tilting my chin down a little I added, "What say I walk you home? I hear the City is rife with unsavoury characters. No place for a lady, trickster though she maybe."

"I'm too social a creature to refuse company," I said with a smile, wondering if he any ulterior motives and part of me hoping so. "It's not terribly far to my City-home."

"I'll lead where you follow, lovely Sidhe." I said, rising from my bar stool and offering her my hand.

Taking his hand with a smile and lightly stroking the back with my thumb I smiled a quick thanks at Sophie and then led him out into the streets.
