"Well I have to take over the estate in four years, but that doesn't bother me. I'm not the roving sort. Not that, that's too say I plan on growing up. I can have all my fun right here at home." I took a sip of my ale and amended, "Well, back in Siovale, at home. I mean."

"You must have some very interesting things in Siovale then," I said with a raised brow. "My fun at home is the outdoors sort and spending time with my sisters, usually getting into trouble and giving my mother more grey hair. In the City, I have found, there is a larger variety of fun to be had." It was in my nature to flirt, but really, I was only doing so lightly. Smiling, I took another sip of wine.

Thinking of the days leading up to my departure, I couldn't help but agree that home could be interesting enough, so long as I kept in on it's toes. "My fun at home is mostly hunting and sport. But I'm always ready to try new things." I said with a quirked eyebrow.

"It's good to be open-minded in the City, I have found- I don't know what your estate was like, but I'm from a sleepy little manor. It was wonderful for childhood and for relaxing as an adult, but not for variety. Then again, it made me stronger than most of the coddled nobles one sometimes sees, so secret benefits abound. Not to mention all of the limberness from a childhood of climbing trees." I was starting to feel the effects of the wine slightly- my endurance of drinks was still weak, it seemed- and I licked my lips slightly, smiling at their numbness.

Her words were flowing freely and I couldn't help but notice the wine touching them. Benifits aplenty perhaps, but apparentally constitutional fortitude was not one of them. Smiling in response to her slightly addled one. "Well, variety is the spice of life." I said raising my glass to hers in cheers.

Taking a deep breath I felt myself steady a little, my grin becoming less wavery. "True enough," I said raising my own glass. "May you have as much variety as you can possibly stand."

My body was starting to cope with the alcohol even more deeply as I took another sip. Somehow I was getting the feeling he wasn't the type to be a fun drunken companion, so I mentally made a decision to slow down on my inbibing. "What plans do you have while you are in the City? Are you going to Midwinter?"

"A Masque thrown at the Night Court, dancing and beauty all around? I wouldn't miss it. I even had my costume made at Eglantine, just to get into the spirit things even earlier. What are you going to go as?" Unthinking, I took another small sip.

"I'm sure you'll be wonderful." I said gravely, but with a slight smile tugging at my lips. "Perhaps I'll see you there and we could take a turn around the dance floor?" I half suggested, half asked, leaning in a tiny bit more, and placing my fingers very lightly on her knee.

"In green and with red hair if you want to find me," I teased, letting my fingers play over the back of his graceful, long-fingered hand. "My veil won't be covering my tresses at all. Still, it would be nice if you would give me a hint." Smiling a little sweetly I cocked my head slightly, letting my hair fall over the line of my neck.

Smiling charmingly I replied, "It seems that, once again, we are in accord on something." Just as smoothly as he had I let my own hand drift toward the inside of his thigh by a bare inch. Alcohol and desire were beginning to take light in my blood and self-control had never been my strong point. Jaynx had once said I had the makings of a hidden sensualist and he couldn't have been more right- sensation was definitely somethng that rated high on my list of things to experience.

Rolling my eyes teasingly at the wryness in his tone, I raised a brow. "You seem to dislike the idea of agreeing with anyone," I teased. "Are my statements really so unnverving?" Gently I reaced out and pushed the hair back from his eye, looking for a moment at the grey coolness of them. "For all of your professions of mischief are you really reserved in spirit?"

"I couldn't imagine being an only child, so I have no idea," I said with a smile. "Though I was for two years, before my next sister was born- I'm the eldest, you see." My eyes were slightly half-lidded with pleasure at the sensation of that well-boned hand on my skirts, the fabric he was bunching causing the lower hem of my skirt to dance slightly. "Some people will never appreciate a joke unless someone besides themselves is the butt of it, I think."
