Countdown & Info on the New Board - Please Read!

Things are wrapping up, both on Terre d'Ange and on the new board! Yes, we have been cryptic with the name as much as with the URL, but we know how damn wily some of you guys are (which isn't a bad thing!), and we wanted to have the board set up before everyone started popping over.

The projected opening date of the new board is October 14th. At that time, we are going to give out the URL to the new board, and you guys are welcome to come over, start joining your characters and checking out what's different! To that effect, there are a few things we should discuss with you.

• Please do not start any new threads after October 4th on the old board (TDA). The board will remain open for one month following the new boards opening. Once that month is over, the board will not be available for posting on. It will remain up for archival histories, however.
  
  
• Upon joining, please make a Player Account (PA). We will be using PA's rather than characters for contacting you, and if another player needs to contact you for some reason, they have one main account of yours to send a message to. This will keep things from becoming lost/missed on accounts you rarely check, and will eliminate the need for mass PMs to clear out on all your characters. When we have information to send out to everyone, we will send it individually to each player.
  
  
• The rules have changed. After you have made your PA, please read the rules over and sign your name to the bottom of them, acknowledging you have read and agree to them. You may not RP on the new board without signing and agreeing. This will go for current board players, as well as any future players who join our site.
  
  
• Once you begin making characters, please post them in the Character Check-In thread. With the multitude of characters that will be created there, it's a place where Staff can go through it and put places in their correct groups. We are using phpbb over there; there is not a place at this time to put custom text under a character name. (such as Queen of Terre d'Ange on Corettas here.) This will be up to you to put on your character yourself. In the Profile section, there is a space labeled "Title." Please use it correctly; if incorrect or blank, a staff will have to fix/add it.
  
  
• Character avatars are 150x150 px, as opposed to the 100x100 here.
  
  
• There are threads available for listing your character in the Character Profile section. For example, there's a thread for Priest/esses, a thread for craftsmen/others who work, a thread for bad guys, etc - that way, if you're looking for something in specific, you can look there to try to find the type of character you want/need.
  
  
• The bio format has changed. Not a lot, but this should hopefully give a little more information without being cumbersome. Please take note, and when you move your characters to the new board, use this format:

Question....the new board isn't open until the 14th, but we can't post on this board after the 4th. Why the ten days difference, or is it just a typo?

Oh no no, you can post here, just no new threads to be started.. mainly so things can wrap up here in preparation for the jump there. What we're shooting for is everyone who moves over will know exactly where their characters stand when the move, and not have to wait for threads to finish up here first.

There's always going to be circumstances that differ, though, so if anyone would like an extension, please PM Niky or I to discuss it

Will the PAs be used for ooc matters as well? (I'm assuming there will be an OOC subboard, ha!) It might probably be helpful, you know, to those who don't know automatically that Bev plays Svetlana Romanov and 30948309483098 other people as well, for example.

Also: I'm barely keeping up right now and I'm pretty harried for the upcoming 5 days, so is it okay if I put off worrying about moving my people over until academic madness is over? Because I know I just won't be able to put in the time until, er, late next week, if not next weekend....

We'll still give another month for wrapping up threads here, and I would say to only start a thread on this board if it is something you want to rp out before moving over (for instance, the thread we have with Silvie, Noemi and Christien about the poisoning).

Oh, and don't worry about moving everyone over tomorrow, that's just when we're opening it up for people to start, there's nothing saying you have to be finished by a particular time, so don't stress!!
