With the war on, supplies were slow coming in, and now that Marie had gone the shop seemed too quiet. I puttered nervously about the shelves, restocking items. My storeroom shelves were starting to look bare, I was hoping for peace in the realm, and soon.

I was wandering, hoping to perhaps come across Ai – I was hoping I might commission another set of earrings from her. I'd been complimented me on them, and I'd been rather pleased – it was something I wanted to tell her, too. In such times of thriving, every little victory deserved to be celebrated.
But somehow in my walking about, I'd come to a place I hadn't visited in a while, and found myself looking at the sign – Shahrizai and Sons. I'd not seen the sole Shahrizai I'd once knew since Longest Night, and I remembered both the night of the assignation, which had been wonderful, and the next morning, the taste of coffee and a slightly... tense conversation - though what about, I couldn't quite well remember.
Ah, but I'd never quite made amends, had I? And I felt more self-assured, more humble, too, now that I had my own trade to worry about, among other things.
And so I took a deep breath and pushed the door open. “Good afternoon,” I said, smiling politely. Of course it was him – he was looking preoccupied, and I feared it might be a bad time.
[OOC: Assuming this is before she leaves for Camlach, if that's alright. ^^]

"Good afternoon," I said, as I looked up from the shelf where I was busily lining jars up just so. "Would you care to - " I stopped, setting down the jar in my hand. "Mademoiselle Geraldine," I said, walking up to her. "It had been a long time."

I curtsied lower perhaps than was necessary, and looked at Aramis only once I had straightened up. “My lord Shahrizai,” I replied, smiling a little. “It has, indeed.”
I was happy to see him again, I found. He seemed busy, though. “Should I have called sooner?”
The question was asked with a touch of timidity – if I should have, then I would have, but it seemed... perhaps the timing was just right.

"Madamoiselle, I would never presume to say that you should do anything other than as you wish," I said. "Though the sight of you again gives me much happiness."

I smiled elegantly, looked at him frankly, eyes clear of any possible plotting. “Oh, my lord, but you do speak with charm, and had I known that my presence were so pleasurable to you, I might have stopped by sooner. I daresay that I am happy for a chance for reacquaintance. It has been a while since Longest Night, has it not?”
It was a tricky thing, to bring up our assignation, I knew, but as I was not here to fetch another, but simply to present myself to him perhaps in a different light, and make amends for a quarrel the grounds of which I could scarce remember, I hoped the openness of my manner would be enough to convey the innocence of my intentions.

"Yes, it has," I said. Now that she was here, I couldn't remember why I hadn't thought to see her again. "Have you been well?"

I smiled a little, happily, the smile I always smiled on good days, when it was sunny and I felt in control of my life.
“I have, my thanks,” I replied, and though I felt tempted to simply turn to show him the top of my finished marque, I waited, so as not to appear to be boasting. “And yourself, my lord?”

"In a bit of a slump, actually," I said. "Personally, I am well, but I hired a girl, an in-law of sorts, to work in the shop, and she recently resigned. Letting her go was hard; she was a real asset to the store."

“I'm very sorry to hear that,” I replied compassionately. Somewhere in my mind I wondered if this in-law of sorts was more to Aramis than an employee, and I wondered – but really, it was none of my business. “Though perhaps in these harried economic times, it might be... a saving of sorts?”
I was trying to be economical myself and had no staff at the salon, which, alas, was not going as well as I'd hoped. I blamed it on the war.
