Name: Briallen de Loréan
Age: 16
Race: d’Angeline (L’Agnace) and Alban
Gender: Female
Height: 5’7”
Home Province: Primarily raised in Alba
Natal: Last week of Winter
Appearance: Briallen’s mixed blood blended in a way that left her very pretty in Alba and pretty but unremarkable in Terre d’Ange. Those who know her mother would cast her the near spitting image with her large brown eyes and auburn hair. the fine curves of her bones and lusciousness of her lips more than hint at her father’s bloodline.
Personality: If just told of her actions, many would think Bri courageous, but in fact it just never occurs to her that she might be hurt or unwelcomed when she does things. From the moment she could move on her own, Bri has been driven by the need to see and experience everything. All of her experiences get recorded in the leather-bound journal she keeps with her at all times. Bri is smart if still naïve for all that she has seen and done. she looks upon the world as a tale that has yet to be written and it is with joyous abandon that she pursues the story.
History: Clement de Loréan is the younger brother of Severin de Loréan, father of Sébastien de Loréan. While Severin saw to the daily running of the estate, Clement decided to take to traveling and expanded the estate’s interest through trade. Severin sent Clement to Alba in search of stock with which to expand the bloodlines of the horses on the estate. In Alba, Clement met and fell in love with Lilwen, a bard of minor renowned in Alba. Lilwen traveled with Clement while he was in Alba and it was during that time that she became pregnant and gave birth to Briallen. Clement did not wish to completely abandon his daughter, but duty called him back to Terre d’Ange. Lilwen refused to leave Alba, so a deal was struck. Once Briallen was old enough to travel on her own, she would spend summers at Loréan, but the rest of the time in Alba.
Bri grew up a happy and curious child, often causing those looking out for her welfare moments of terror when they would discover her in the midst of danger when they thought her safely tucked in bed or studying. Summers soon became Bri’s favorite time of year for not only did she get to travel across the straights, she got to spend time with Sébastien and Savage. As they grew, the two boys were far more like brothers to her than cousins and it was often them that saved her from dangers she never even knew were there. During her months in Alba, Lilwen would pass on all of her tales to her daughter as well as the lore of her homeland and all the other knowledge she had gained in her years. Lilwen knew that the island was too small to hold her daughter for long and that her unquenchable thirst for knowledge would take her away someday soon.
It was during one of Bri’s summer visits that Terre d’Ange went to war with Skaldia. Briallen was ready to follow Seby into war, chronicling everything she saw and aiding wherever she could, without hesitation. Sebastien protested, wanting to protect her both physically and emotionally from the things she would see, but in the end he agreed, knowing she would go with his permission or without and at least this way he would b able to keep watch over her.
