There were many wonderous things in this City that were at times hard to believe, though perhaps with the number of people here it wasn't as surprising as it may have been in Euskerria. People from many nations came here seeing the peace of the d'Angeline gods and the relaxed laws, or the fashion and culture of a peaceful people, and when they did they brought a piece of their own heritage with them. This place bore hints of several others with its herbs and bits of magic, and it was purely by curiosity that I'd been drawn here.
There was a scent in the air that was both healthful and somewhat dark, as though there could be great good or great harm that came of the things here, but I pushed that bit of superstition aside and simply looked around. There was an air of mysterious quiet to the place, one that blocked out the noise of the City outside, and I simply accepted that as I moved between the shelves. Occasionally a jar would catch my attention and I would stop to examine it, then go on to the next thing. I still wasn't sure that I believed in what this shop sold, but others did, and where there was space for skepticism it seemed wrong to call it wrong without at least knowing what it was about.
Besides, if there was something to this maybe it would give me some luck. It certainly couldn't hurt.

I was in a quiet sort of mood as I stepped into the shoppe, though just why I came in I wasn't sure. A need for change, mayhap, something different, a want to explore or something else that I didn't understand. I smiled to the girl behind the counter though, and began making my way slowly down the isles, curiously looking over little ornaments and charms. I wasn't sure whether to touch things or not, so wisely I kept my fingers to myself as I moved, resolving only to pick up something if I had any inclination to actually purchase it.
Quiet as the air was in here, I could hear another person in the shoppe, moving two isles over. The aire of the place coupled with my quiet mood made me.. Elua, I wasn't sure, not quite on edge, but not wanting to be alone either, and so as nonchalantly as I could, I left the isle I was in and skipped the next one, choosing to go down the one with what turned out to be a man browsing the wares. He wasn't d'Angeline, had nice clothes and dark hair, but that was all I took in as I gave him a small smile before beginning to browse again. It was comforting having someone close, even if I had no idea who they were.

The aisle I was currently in was filled with little jars that seemed to hold candles with various colors and scents, but there were also some that seemed to hold herbs, or dust, or even liquids that had other things floating in them. Then there were crystals and bones, and some pouches painted or stitched with different symbols, some that I recognized and some completely foreign to me. Everything I saw was more puzzling than the last, but I wasn't willing to stop my explorations yet to ask the attendant any questions as yet.
Reaching over I gently picked up one of the pouches, this one white with designs of red and blue that seemed almost Hellene and smelled heavily of sandalwood. Very little in my education had involved religion and magic outside that of my home, its neighbors and the Tsingani but this didn't resemble any of those things. Perhaps it was an amulet?
My thoughts were made into murmurs at the approach of someone else though and I looked up to see another beautiful blonde woman, d'Angeline, with quiet eyes and a gentle smile. I couldn't help but return it with a wider one of my own before I looked back at the shelves and tried to collect my thoughts again. The people here really were beautiful enough to drive a person to distraction- an idea I proved as I turned back to the shelf to set the bag back down and knocked one of the candles onto the floor at exactly the same time, then started to stoop down to retrieve it.

He smiled at me, wide and easy-going, and I instantly liked him all the more for it. I was just beginning to turn back to the shelf before me again when I saw something drop out of the corner of my eye, and I glanced over in time to see a candle rolling away.
"Oh Elua, don't tell me things are jumping off the shelves now," I quipped, flashing him a mirthful smile as I stooped next to him, bending in a lady-like fashion to collect the candle that had nearly rolled into my foot. "It's.." I glanced past him towards the front desk, and lowered my voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "It's so... eery in here." My eyes on him again, I gave him a grin as I stood, offering him the candle.

I was surprised when the girl knelt down to pick up the same thing I'd been seeking to retrieve, but my smile stayed in place as I watched her and reached out a hand to take what she had. "I don't know whether they're coming to life or were simply looking to escape my company and be in yours," I replied, my accent clear to my own ears though I knew the language well enough that I wasn't often misunderstood. Besides, I could see why things might gravitate to her, she was lovely and had an open sort of smile.
As her voice dropped I listened more closely and looked around at the dark, shadowy corners and the mysterious contents on the shelves before actually taking the candle from her hand. "Yes, it does seem a little mysterious," I whispered back. "But that's what drew me in. There aren't really shops like this in Euskerria. Is that what brought you here as well?"
