Character Played By (the person in your avatar): Josie Maran
Name: Ykaterina Azarov, known as Katya to friends and family
Title: Vikontessa
Age: 22
Race (Lineage Origin): Ruskovian
Gender: Female
Home Province/Country: Ruskovia
Appearance (1-2 Paragraphs): Katya is very different from many of her fair-haired brethren, taking on instead the darker qualities that are also known to Ruskovia. Her hair is a deep chestnut brown, golden and copper strands throughout, making her hair seem to almost glow in the the sunlight. Her eyes are dark pools, full of mirth or sadness or whatever she happens to be feeling. She is of average height, slim but not overly so. Her skin is pale in the cold winter months, bronze when she returns from her time spent in warmer climates.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs): Katya is a woman who knows who she is and is perfectly at home with that knowledge. She is smart, deeply humorous, and as much of a hedonist as a Ruskovian woman can be. The strictures of her society chafe at her, but she has learned over time how to move within them. She is pragmatic, knowing that the 'right' way of doing things is not often the smartest or best way. She sees the world as it is, rather than as it should be, though the cynicism of that view sometimes gets to her. Lighthearted, she does not take things too seriously, the product of a noble family who has never gone hungry or wanted for anything.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs): Katya comes from an ancient lineage, her family having held their title for generations. Though they are not the highest ranked, the Azarovs have made it a point to always have a presence at court. Katya's parents, Nikolas and Ilyena, had only one child, and they doted on her from birth. Far from being spoiled, however, Katya was a quiet, intelligent child, perhaps too much so for her own good. She did well in her studies, was obedient, though not all the time, but enough so that she did not often trouble her parents. Her father died when she was fifteen, and for a time she lost herself to grief, but felt stronger for it when she came out the other side. Her mother, however, never fully recovered and though many sued for her hand, she never remarried. Katya's carefree days had ended, but she was still at heart an optimistic young woman, and when she was seventeen, she spent a few years traveling with some other children of noble families, as was fashionable at the time. Always chaperoned, of course, because there was only so much freedom a Ruskovian aristocrat is allowed, but she always managed to have fun despite the restrictions imposed upon her.
When her mother passed away, she was merely two and twenty, and now a Vikontessa. A marriage had not been arranged for her yet, because it was thought that they would have more time before it became necessary. Since Katya's parents had also been single children, she had no male relatives to take over the duty, putting her in the choice position to choose a husband for herself. Of course, she knew she would have to choose wisely, but at the moment, she is content to entertain suitors and enjoy the time she has as a single woman in society.
