My lamb,
I have survived our first encounter with the Skaldic forces. We ambushed them. There were some wounds in my unit, but thankfully none dead yet. I'm sorry I can't send a longer message, but I need to check on my men.
Love you and miss you, Lucien

Wolf cub,
Thank you for the news. My heart soars to know you are safe. I know your men are in good hands with you as their leader.
I love and miss you more with every passing moment.
Come home safe, Phreya

My dearest lamb,
Doubtlessly you've heard, but Alain de Mauvais fell during our attack, and Landis de Verreuil lost an eye. I don't know if you're familiar with either of them, but I knew them from Akkad. Alain was a good man, it pained me to hear him fallen. I don't know yet how Landis will fare, other than I think he'll live. We are preparing for more. I do not yet know if we'll attack them or they'll attack us, but the camp feels different when it's time for another battle. I will write again after it's all said and done. Don't worry though, Jaime is a good general, he'll see us through.
I've been thinking about that little weekend retreat that we had been talking about. Just you and me and no clothing. I'm sure I'll be home soon enough that the weather will still be nice enough. And if it's not, perhaps we can go visit Clairmont? I know my mother is dying to meet you, and we can spend a leisurely time traveling there and back. Camlach is beautiful in the fall. Maybe if I'm lucky it will snow early and we'll be trapped there for the winter. I jest only, I know you enjoy the grand balls and fetes of the winter months, though they seem so long away now. Soon enough I pray, you'll be back in my arms.
Dreaming of you, Your Lucien

My Beloved Lucien, My heart grieves with yours for the loss of a man such as Alain du Mauvais and the injuries to those as brave a Landis de Verreuil. It is an awful truth that nations such as the one we are blessed to live in are defended with the blood of good men. I pray that this war is over soon and that our losses are as minimal as possible.
As much as I love the city, I cannot think of anything better than wintering with you at Clairmont. A weekend would be lovely, but being with you for an entire season would be even lovelier. Perhaps a small wedding there as well, just those closest to us in the place where we shall raise our children.
Longing for your return, Phreya

My lamb,
Your last letter brought me such happiness in a very dark time. The enemy counterattacked, and caused much destruction in the small farming communities scattered through the countryside here. Thinking of going home with you for the winter was such a comfort as we tried to help and defend. A wedding sounds heavenly. I can't wait to hold you in my arms again, and holding you as my wife would make it even sweeter.
Would you write my mother, and tell her that we're planning to visit for the winter? She'll be overjoyed, she very much wants to meet you. But please don't tell her of our plans to wed just yet. If we tell her too soon, all hopes of a small intimate ceremony will be dashed. She won't be able to help herself, she'll start inviting the entire countryside to try to make me happy. It's one of her quirks. But I think the two of you will get along very well.
I must go now, but know that your love is such a comfort.
Love you and miss you, Lucien

Beloved, I am torn between the joy of knowing you are well and the grief of hearing the damage that has been suffered by innocents. I am going to speak to my factor and see about starting a fund to help those affected rebuild as soon as possible.
I have written to your mother and she is overjoyed at us coming for the winter. Her letter was filled with hints about a wedding, but I kept that to myself.
I miss you my love, more with every passing second. Come home safe.
Love always, Phreya

Love,
I am still in one piece. Nothing I can report. Thinking of you all the time.

Lucien,
The news that you are still in one piece gladdens me more than I can express. Being apart from you is growing harder every day and I am having to fight the desire to come to the front to be with you. I know you will say I am safer here, but I may be of some use there instead of just sitting here and worrying.
I love you, Phreya

Love,
Do not come. I love you too much and it is far too dangerous. Please, stay safe and in the capital. I will be home soon enough, and then we can spend so much time together that you'll grow tired of me.
If you need to take your mind off of things, go to my desk. In the back of the lefthand set of shelves, on the bottom, there is a leather bound journal that I kept when I was studying in Tiberium. I fancied myself a bit of a poet back then, so I apologize in advance for my truly terrible verse. When I get back, we can laugh at how horribly naive I was.
I love you Phreya. I beg you, stay safe.
Yours, Lucien

My Love,
There is not enough time in eternity for me to grow tired of you.
Thank you for the journal, for sharing it with me. I have spent every night since your letter came curled up with it. It makes me feel that you are here with me and the bed not quite so empty.
I love you more than words can say, Phreya
