I was far more nervous meeting Judith than I had any of the other women I had attempted to court. I didn't know much about her, but I did remember that she was to be a Baroness. I had struggled with selecting the right flowers, for some reason daffodils didn't seem appropriate. And I still felt that roses were far too strong. I decided to go with tulips, selecting a 6 red ones and having them properly wrapped in a bouquet.
I arrived at the restaurant dressed in a dark blue suit with a white tunic and dark blue doublet. I had been told by my sister that it brought out the color of my eyes.
When I made my way inside, I spoke quietly to the hostess to make sure that our table had still be reserved. I decided that it was better for me to wait by the door, rather than to settle at the table.

Bollocks, I was late for that stupid lunch invitation. I near flew out of the carriage and into the restaurant, nearly bowling over a handsome young man in blue carrying flowers. "Oh! Pardonez-moi, monsieur, but I'm so terribly late, I must find my date for lunch!"

I turned to find a dark haired woman, my date bump into me. I gave a soft grin and bowed to her, "It is no problem at all. Lady Montaigne? I am Marquise Renard de Valliers. Our table awaits." I offered her my arm and then began leading her to our table. I had spoken to the owner to get the best table, which had a gorgeous view of the of the restaurant's garden. I hoped she would like it.

"You are my lord de Valliers?" I asked, then laughed out loud. "Oh dear, I'm terribly embarassed! It is lovely to meet you, sir."Accepting his arm, I let him lead me to the table.
