Though there were many who would say my life was nothing but indulgence, luxury is a matter of levels and when one is accustomed to certain things, it takes something new to feel like luxury.
With this in mind, I decided to visit the Bathhouse. Why not? It had come to me as a spur of the moment impulse, and those were often the most enjoyable.
Smiling, I stepped inside and glanced around, getting the lay of things.

I'd been told to be by the entrance – to entice possible johns, if I could. One came in – handsome, with jet-black hair that was hard to ignore, in fact, and that reminded me of another with similar hair coloring. It made me smile to myself.
He was looking about, apparently seeking his bearings, and I put on a sweet, charming smile, and strolled in his direction, waving in a friendly fashion.
“Good day, m'lord,” I ventured, and then I curtsied eyes alight. “Is there aught for your service?”
I was wearing simple clothes, but they were ever advantageous, showing what cleavage I had, and my slim waist through the dress. I was barefoot, but they were clean and I wore a small bracelet on one of my ankles, for luck.

My gaze came to rest on the girl, her amazing hair making me smile. “Yes, I’d like to avail myself of the top line of services offered here,” I replied. “This is my first time here, though so if you might inform me of what is offered I would be very appreciative.”

He spoke like a book, and I smiled a little, thinking that words are indeed a powerful weapon. I wished I could wield them thus – but I'd never learned.
“Well, m'lord,” I said carefully, “if you wish for the standard service, there are the baths, both warm and cold. The warm one is relaxing, the cold one is invigorating. There is a steam room as well, and a warm room, though I reckon you may want to save that for the winter. If you wish to be personally tended, here are massage rooms as well, of various... persuasions.”
I inflicted the last word lightly, though I suspected he knew exactly what I meant.

Her final words caused the corners of my lips to curl up in a smile.
“Well then… I think a warm bath and a massage sounds just the thing,” I said. “Do these services come with a personal attendant? Yourself perhaps?”

I grinned my best grin and batted my eyelashes. “As it please you, m'lord, it would be an honor to serve you.”
I curtsied again, and added, “in whatever capacity my lord wishes.”

“Excellent,” I told her. “My name is Gabriel, what should I call you?”

“My name's Alayne, my lord Gabriel,” I replied with a little smile. “But call me as you wish, if you like.”

“Alayne,” I said, tasting her name as it slid over my tongue. “Oh, I like your name just fine.” Smiling, I offered her my arm. “Lead the way.”

“This way, please,” I intoned after I'd slipped my arm in his. “If his lordship will do me the honors...” I wasn't being exactly irreverent, but I put some playfulness in my tone, assuming he might enjoy it.

I chuckled softly and let her lead me. I was still getting a feel for her, wondering if she was being engaging or snide. For her sake it was the first, I didn’t take well to the second.

I led Gabriel to the front desk, then, where I explained his query, and let the attendant handle all matters, so that things would be done as Tigris wanted.
I didn't care much for such things – but I'd already infringed on protocol once with Necthan, which I would never regret, and once was enough.
