Character Played By (the person in your avatar): Odette Yustman
Name: Soraya de la Cruz
Title: Condesa Tetuan
Age: 18
Race (Lineage Origin): Aragonian/Akkadian/D'Angeline
Gender: Female
Height: 5' 5"
Home Province/Country: Aragonia
Appearance (1-2 Paragraphs): Soraya looks like an exotic princess from a fairy tale. Her hair falls in ebon cascades and her skin is a light, nut brown. She moves like a dancer; sensually and gracefully. The only hint that she has D'Angeline blood in her veins comes from her eyes; a vivid violet at odds with the rest of her appearance. She is beautiful, however the trademark D'Angeline features which are sharp in those with direct descent have been softened in hers, due to the dilution of her bloodline.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs): Quick witted and silver tongued; Soraya is often scathing. She can draw attention with a mere crook of her finger. A terrible tease, she has been known to lead her admirers on, sometimes unwittingly, but usually deliberately as she likes to be cold and in control. Despite her love of manipulation she always stops short of seriously hurting those she deals with. She can be very protective and fierce of those who are close to her, and her ambition means she plays to win; a typical L'Envers trait. Soraya has the potential to be very level headed and diplomatic, like her father and Nicola L'Envers before her, but her current thirst for life outweighs any such sensibilities.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs): Soraya's father was Cervantes de la Cruz, grandson of Serafin L'Envers y Aragon. When he was seventeen, his father died and he inherited the title of Duque Castilla. His mother, having made a strong political alliance herself in her youth, bade him marry a distant relative, Sharhzad Shamabarsin of Khebbel-im-Akkad. Sharhzad herself was of a cadet line descended from Valere L'Envers; which meant that any children they bore would have L'Envers blood on both sides.
Soraya was their only surviving child, her mother having died giving birth to still-born twin boys when she was eight. The death was a great blow as they had been very close, and there was a part of her that became distant after that. Nevertheless, her father still doted on her and they continued to travel between Khebbel-im-Akkad, Aragonia and Terre d'Ange on diplomatic assignments. Soraya enjoyed these journeys so much so that she never spent more than one year in one place, though another reason might be because she is restless and unsure of what she wants to achieve in life. As a result she lives a rather frivolous lifestyle, travelling between countries though she loves the glamour of Terre d'Ange above all else, having spent a lot of time there during her early teen years, as her father wanted her as far away as possible from Khebbel-im-Akkad during the war.
