Oh, how I miss you, every day seems more gray and empty than the last. We're at war, and I've ridden away from my wife and unborn child because without you, I simply cannot care for their fates the way I should. If I had never left...
It is cold here, even in summer, and I long for the warm days by the river in Kusheth. I dream of you, of that place, and the first time I held you in my arms. It is so strange to me that 'love as thou wilt' could never apply to us, and yet there could be no greater love than the one I bear you.
I know you shall never read my words, but writing to you makes me feel connected to you, somehow, and I shall set these words adrift upon the river and maybe someone will find them, read them, and know that you were loved.
Always yours,
Raen
