Character Played By (the person in your avatar): Jamie Pryde
Name: Marcel de Layne
Age: 23
Race (Lineage Origin): D'angeline
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0
Home Province/Country: Eisande/Terre d'Ange
Appearance (1-2 Paragraphs): Marcel is a bit of the odd one out in his family when it comes to looks (among other things). Though he shares the brown hair with his siblings, his is much lighter, with traces of blonde, and he is the only one of them who possesses green eyes. Where features are concerned, he shares the chiseled jawline and high cheekbones of his brothers, but the similarities end there. He is also the shortest of the brothers, though by no means is he a short man.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs): Marcel can be summed up in one word: bitter. Being the middle child, he always felt slighted and without purpose. Jacques stood to inherit the title of Comte, Guy was a Cassiline, Dyan married to a Comte of her own. The younger brothers, Marc and Henri, were fun-loving and somewhat shiftless in Marcel's opinion, and they were off to Tiberium to "study." Even Sophine, the baby, seemed content with her lot as a minor noble with no real prospects. Marcel has a hot temper, though underneath all of the bitterness and anger, he is actually a nice person, caring deeply for people and having an uncanny ability to empathize with the feelings of others. He appreciates beauty, in art or song, or even in the world around him, though he would be hard-pressed to admit it.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs): As the middle of seven children, Marcel has always been somewhat of an aimless person, flitting from hobby to hobby but never really settling into anything. During his years of fosterage in Camlach, he did show some affinity for the military, and for a time that was where he stayed, until the pain and suffering of war took to great a toll on him. He returned home to Eisande, forever to follow in the shadow of his elder brothers, Jacques and Guy.
For some time he lost himself in drink and opium, but all of that changed when he fell in love with a young widow, Maigrey, who had a small daughter. Falling in love with her, Marcel gave up his ways, only to be shocked to find out that she had agreed to marry his father (also a widow). Stunned and in disbelief, he has gone full force back to his old ways, to the dismay of his family.
