He’s tall to the point of being imposing to most. He has deep-set eyes of the most vivid, piercing blue, giving away his familial bonds almost at once. His general expression is stern, with a semi-permanent scowl. He seems to be ever-thinking ever plotting.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs): Where most Shahrizai are known by their cruelty, Auberon is known by his cynicism. He takes humor from sarcasm and frequently dishes it out. He’s a bit on the pessimistic side, but someplace in side, deep down wants to be loved. He has a rough curmudgeonly shell however which is extremely difficult to penetrate. He takes his work seriously and though there have been rumors of false dealings he knows better and his silver Shahrizai tongue quickly puts them to rest. He’s also a man of justice and a man of ambition.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs): Auberon Shahrizai was born on a rather dull and gloomy day in an otherwise glorious summer, and his life has reflected it ever since. As a child he wasn’t prone to go outside and play, preferring to listen to his father discuss business and matters of state. He idolized his fathers dignity, the somber way that he read the order of affairs, the way his clothes made him seem tall and the others around him insignificant. His mother, a woman of vanity taught him that the way to make a woman, or anyone you wanted affection from, happy was to lavish them with riches and expensive things. He wanted three things in life then, to achieve what he saw as happiness, respect, money, and importance.
As a young man he achieved those things through his parents mostly, but when times went bad he found he would have to find a new way to achieve them. It was then he moved to Elua and began working in the royal bank. There he met a woman, Enide Morhban. She charmed him, sharing his love of sarcasm. She, unlike his mother appreciated the gifts, but the relationship was deeper. Unlike his parents they actually loved each-other. That love soon led to a marriage. For five years they tried without success to have a child, but it never managed to affect the connection that the two had for one another. The nect year, however, Enide announced that she was pregnant and for the first time Auberon was able to take pride in something other than himself. Enide, however died during labor giving birth to a pair of stillborn twins. Auberon was thirty seven and Enide was twenty one.
After that Auberon’s cyinicism took on a darker tone. He spent many a night in both Mandrake and Valerian when his anger and grief were the strongest. He succeeded in beating the hurt and the emotion out of him. He tried unsuccessfully to remarry, but either his gifts sent a bad impression or the women he pursued could not stand him. By the age of forty Auberon resigned himself to being alone, Head of the bank and the head of an empty house. So he has continued to the present day.
