I had just come from Bello Boutiques; my boxes had been taken by the foot man and placed in my carriage for safe keeping and I was once again on the look out for places to continue shopping. Since my marriage to Gratien there was very little he allowed me to do and shopping was likely the only really fun thing to do.
These days I was allowed only to do four things; go shopping, go to the market, go ridding with an approved escort or perform what ever sexual acts he desired of me. Gratien was a man of varrying tastes and it all came out in what he did. Despite how much it enraged me how he would bring woman home to our bed -with me in it no less- or how much he to push to humiliate me, I had been forced into this position and I gave into it in hopes that one day I'd have a way to get my freedom from him.
Either way, on days that I was free to do clothing shopping I did, it really was the only thing that gave me joy. I walked down the street dressed in a satan gown the colour of champagne, styled in the modern Aragonian fashion. As I walked I slipped and fell onto the curb, tearing my slipper as I did. "¡Mierda!" I exclaimed as I found myself sitting on the side walk next to the street.

I had another meeting at the playhouse which left me in the artisan’s district once more. While I walked I felt a light breeze run through my hair and I closed my eyes to take it in, the softness of it made me smile and I breathed out a name --I wanted a hat. It was a complete whim, but I wanted one. I had a gentleman’s walking stick and I needed the hat to go with it. I knew that there was a bevy of clothing stores along the way and so I’d stop into one and see if something suited me.
I turned a corner and the first thing that I saw was a woman sitting on the curb. I surmised she’d been shopping and had slipped. I rushed over to her, knowing that helping was the only thing one could do in a situation like this. I offered her my hand. “Let me help,” I said. My voice was smooth and rich and some said it was a little hypnotizing. I don’t know. I added in a smile for friendly-measure.

At first when I heard the footfalls of some one moving toward me I assumed it was our driver Jean-George coming to help me up; I was about to wave him away as well. But when I looked up to see the dark hair and eyes of a stranger I simply stared up in slight confusion. To add to that he was strikingly handsome, his voice soft like honey as it a flower spoke his words. "Oh yes." I said softly, my words tainted with my Aragonian accent. "Thank you very much. I'm afraid my slipper is in disrepair; just something else to buy I suppose." I let out a little chuckle, mostly nervous, as I blushed in both embarassment and the words I had spoke.

In a second it was clear that she was from Aragonia and I smiled at my apparent affinity for finding those of other lands. My hand was still held out to her, waiting to pull her up. I gave her another smile and responded to her. “Well this is the place to find them. I’m actually here to purchase a hat. Fancy it, me looking for a head covering and you looking for a foot covering, yet still we manage to find one another. We can perhaps help each other pick out things ...” I then realized I had no name to call her by nor had I given her my own. “I’m Necthan Seith-Nun.”

I reached out and took his hand, realising with a blush that I had been staring as I rose from my place on the curb to standing as I did. Just as I had stood, just barely releasing his hand, the loudest bang of noise startled me and I jumped toward him practically into his arms. Pressing myself to him I blushed again and then looked back over my shoulder to see that it was just a thunder storm looming over head.
"Oh goodness, please forgive me." I looked back to him flushed, his eyes dark and romantic, but I pulled back from him.

She got up and I smiled, happy in even the most trivial successes. It was then that a peal of thunder rang out and she all but lept into my arms. Instinctively I wrapped my arms around her to shelter her. When she did pull away I looked from her to the sky above us with a mixture of wonder and fear. My dark eyes danced in the motion of the sinister clouds and my hair shifted in its oncoming breeze. With my hand I moved it back and turned my attention to the Aragonian. “I think we have all the more reason to find a store, and with haste,” I told her, punctuating it with a touch of my hand to her arm.

I looked back to the sky again and then back to Necthan, suddenly realising I had yet to give him my name. "Yes of course, how correct of you." I answered and we began walking toward a shop. "And it's Lola by the way, Princess Lola de las Aragonia." I gave him my maiden name without thinking. I was so used to my family name and I was very rarely called by my married name; only the staff address me with my Somerville surname.

“A pleasure, your Highness!” I said, as though it were the most common thing in the world. I couldn’t help but add on her given name as well, just to see how it sounded, “Lola,” it dripped from my honeyed voice in a way that reminded me of some rich candy. I loved it’s strong o and light a. The entire title flowed like a song when she said it. “You have a very lovely name,” I said honestly.
Another roll of thunder came in and my eyes darted about. I spotted when looked to be a suitable clothing store. “Let’s look in here,” I suggested quickly, opening the door for her.

"Thank you." I murmured with a hidden smile and a blush colouring my cheeks but also followed Necthan inside the store he had chosen.
The shoppe was nice with a variety of items, gowns and slippers included, which made me happy and I began to look around at what they had. Gold had become my signature colour and because of it I was going for anything like it, yellows and lavenders as well. My gaze was immediately drawn to a gold summer gown and I went to it right away.
"You have good taste Monsieur." I said to Necthan with a little smile as I looked back to him shyly.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile. “But you and I both know I picked this out of necessity, and of course we’ll have to stay here until it flucitates away.” I only realized after I said it that I had slipped in one of my made up words in there, but I shrugged, figuring she’d know my meaning. I watched as she seemed pulled towards a certain gold dress and I followed her to it. “Well now, I think that should suit you just fine, your Highness Lola,” I said reaching from behind her to finger the garment lightly, giving her a smile. My hat could wait a little bit, besides, it looked like we had a while.

I admired the piece happily thinking how wonderful it would look on me, I imagined hosting a great fete with all my friends... If I had friends that is. I sighed a little then as I listened to Necthan, going stiff as I felt him come up behind me, his hand reaching out to touch the fabric. The feeling of him behind me made my back warm and I shivered a little as I tried to focus on the gown rather then him.
"Yes, it's lovely." I replied softly. "I like gold very much but I wonder if I should try something else." I turned then to look at him, so close to me and now face to face. "What...what do you think?"

I think you should try it on," I said softly as she turned around and faced me. I didn’t really notice how close we were to one another and probably wouldn’t until she spoke again. “You never know what you think of it until it’s on you. Besides, it’s a summer dress and well.” I peaked outside as the rain was pouring down. “It’s summer is it not?” I had to laugh a little at myself at that. “But go on and I’ll pick out a few hats, and when you come out I’ll tell you what I think of the dress and you can tell me what you think of that hats. Deal?”

I nodded a little shyly as I looked up into his dark eyes for a moment and then broke myself from my reverie and giggled a little at his words. "That sounds like a good idea." I said softly and then smiled, taking down the gold gown and handed it to an attendant that gestured for me to follow. I took one quick glance back at him over my shoulder then headed with her to the curtains. I entered into the area and began undressing as soon as I was sheltered. Once I was naked I pulled the gold gown on and then asked the attendant to do me up. She obliged and I settled my gown on me before I stepped out from behind the curtain. "What do you think?" I asked him then as I stepped toward him.

While she was out I managed to find a few headpieces that I thought suited me, a couple flat caps, two feathered, two not. I also picked out a feathered hat, such as a marksman might wear, I set them on a small table which seemed to be there for a purpose of sorting purchases and then waited for the princess to return.
The moment she stepped out I smiled, for the dress did look lovely on her and I was certainly not one to lack a sense of aestheticism. I looked at it and stepped closer to her, not realizing she was doing the same and giving us not a whole lot of space between. “I think it’s stunning,” comes his honeyed, hypnotic reply.

When he came toward me I felt a blush and I couldn't hide the grin on my lips. I looked down coyly, my hands in front of me before I glanced up at him. "Really?" I asked softly. "Thank you." I turned around slowly as I looked down at it and studied it from my perspective.
"It's lovely." I added then and moved to the rack with more gold gowns. "Perhaps I could try on a few others for you and you can tell me what you think." I suggested, looking at him over my shoulder with a smile still on my lips, my fingers skimming over a gold gown that was more revealing.

"Sounds like a plan," I said to her, "Though I really do like the one you have." I then shooed her away with a grin, only realizing afterwards I had yet to show her the hats. I put one on and waited, enjoying this little diversion as the thunder crashed around us. She was making it easy to take my mind off of such things.

I chewed my lower lip for a moment with a little grin and nodded as I picked out a couple different gold gowns and then went back to the curtained area. I picked out items that were both benign and ones that were rather sexual and decided that I wanted to try on one of the racy ones first. Pulling it on I asked the attendant to help lace me up then stepped out from behind the curtain. "What about this one?" I asked, my voice softer then before I as turned again and showed him the full scope of the gown.

When she stepped out wearing something that any other man would have found turned them into a puddle of lust I simply raised my brows at the impracticality of it. It displayed her body well, and it was a lovely body that she had, and would have given many a man the crudest thoughts. I walked over to her and touched the fabric of the almost non-existent strap. It took me a little while to find the words. “I don’t think you need a dress like this, my princess. For one can see in your face how beautiful you are.”

He didn't like it. He didn't like it and he didn't seem at all interested in any gown like it. I was going to ask him why but didn't, most men would have swooned at the sight of me but he didn't. "Alright, I'll change into something else." I said softly, feeling very unsure what had just happened. He called me beautiful but didn't behave like a man who lusted after me. I went back behind the curtain and this time I chose something less revealing, just a gown I would usually picked out. It was nice enough but not really racy in away fashion, I was sure he would disapprove of this one too. "How about this one?" I asked just as I pulled the curtain back and stepped out.

I sensed disappointment and I was somewhat confused by it. She left to change again and I could hear the thunder crashing outside and I turned to give it an angry look. I smiled as the rumbling quieted and I waited for her to return.
She came out in something that made me smile and allowed me to appreciate the female form without it staroogligizing me in the face. It showed of the curves of the body and also left her shoulders bare, the simplest form of tease and it seemed very “Lolonic.” I smiled at her, widely and nodded. “It’s beautiful... and it matches you well.” I let my eyes run over those curves in a way that I didn’t intend to be rude. “I think it might be your best choice yet,” I purred softly.

He looked at me so different this time and I was surprised to say how much it surprised me. His eyes raked my body as though I were naked and I blushed deeply, feeling my nipples harden beneath the gown as I smiled and lowered my gaze.
"Thank you." I said softly as I went toward him, this time noticing the hat he was wearing. Feeling strangely bold I went toward him and when I came up in front of him I reached up, my hands adjusting his hat so that it sat better on his head. Mean while my body arched inward a little, my stomach just brushing up against him as I focused on his hat.
"It's very handsome." I said in a softly voice as I lowered my hands and looked into his eyes, my lips in a flirtatious and shy smile.

She came close to me, very close and I could feel her stomach touching me and for a flash thoughts of sex came to my mind and I smiled at her. “I’m glad you like it … but we must see how the others look now musn’t we. Would you mind picking out the next one for me?” I let the thoughts go away, but now I found it hard, seeing the dress in a slightly different light, literally even as the lightly flashed.

He was so handsome, his smile so soft and familiar that I couldn't stop the continued flush that crawled across my chest, neck and cheeks. "You look good in a hat." I said softly as I picked out another hat and brought it to him, I pressed myself to him once more, this time more firmly as I took off the one he was wearing and replaced it with another, this one more fancy then the last.
"Very nice." I said gently, my hips pushing up against his as I leaned back to examine him, my eyes going to his face then up to the hat I was settling on this head then back to his eyes and finally his lips. What must they taste like. "There." I said pulling back from him completely as I tossed the first hat aside as I turned away and began looking at other gowns in other colours.

I was only mildly aware of her body now, my eyes looking down into hers and smiling, licking my lips before speaking. “So this one then, Lola?” I asked, taking it off my head and leaning against the table. I let her name roll off of my tongue smooth and round and it made me lick my lips again. I would probably end up purchasing both of the hats, my favorite and hers because, the way I saw it, a man could not have too many hats.

I nodded a little as I picked out another three gowns and then turned to look at Necthan. "It suits you." I answered as I went behind the curtain again and picked out one that I liked before I changed out of the one I was wearing, knowing I'd put it aside to purchase. I changed into one of the two brown coloured gowns I had chosen, the first a lighter brown colour, the second very similar to Aragonian style and I was looking forward to seeing what it was like. "Which do you prefer, this one or the one before?" I asked curiously.

I tapped my chin and then responded. "I believe that the lighter colors suit you better. However I like both of them very much. You look lovely no matter what you are wearing," I informed her. It was true, she had an appeal and a shape that made almost anything she wore look excellent, but it made sense that a Lola could do that. The name had a rhythm and I found it playing in my head. "Maybe," I offered teasingly, "You should try it with one of my hats?"

I chuckled softly, his words still playing in my ears and over my skin as I found longing in a reason to come near to him. "Which hat would you choose for me?" I asked then, stepping toward him a little though I kept my distance this time.

“Hmmm.” I thought about it. “You know I think the fanciplumian hat would be just a little too much. It would steal from the dress and the lovely person underneath it.” I then looked at the table and decided one of the simpler and floppier caps would be best and I walked around behind her. “Now this, this here should work just nicely for you, Lola.” I took her hairs and straightened it out behind her, letting my fingers take delight in the feeling of it. I walked around in front of her and let the hair drape over her shoulder. “Yup, tis quite beautiresting, beautiresting indeed.”

I furrowed my brows and turned to look at him, the hat firmly on my head. "What is... beautiresting?" I asked curiously. "I've never heard that word before." We were standing close to each other again and this time I could smell him, his natural masculine smell making me want to lean into him and run my hand over his chest.
