  Jacques is tall and well built, light to dark brown hair, brown eyes. He is the eldest child of the de Layne family, which includes (in this order): Dyan Gilot (28, Deceased), Guy de Layne (26, Cassiline), Marcel de la Courcel (24, King), Marc de Layne (22, missing), Henri de Layne (20, missing), and Sophine de Layne (18, out of the country). Set to inherit the Comty and all the inherent lands and titles therein, he was groomed from birth to be a leader. Always responsible, stoic, doing the right thing, Jacques was kind and compassionate, but believed in duty above all else. When his father pulled the rug out from under him and gave his inheritance to Marcel to get him away from his young bride, Jacques was furious, and has become bitter of late. He could have been King in Marcel's place, but instead he is no more than Steward of his brother's lands. He is going to come to the City to demand more of his brother, however, since war has broken out, he may instead choose to join the battle and ask for his due afterward.

  He comes to the City to demand his due from his brother, he may or may not join the war effort, that's up to the player, and he hopes to be awarded lands and/or a bride of high standing. While he starts out bitter and angry, it is not his true personality, so there should be some growth back to his original personality.
