Character Played By (the person in your avatar): Kristin Kreuk
Name: Chantal mab Morwen
Age: 17
Race (Lineage Origin): Alban (Maghuin Dhonn/Cullach Gorrym), D'Angeline
Gender: Female
Height: 5' 3"
Home Province/Country: Alba
Appearance (1-2 Paragraphs): Slight and graceful, Chantal has inherited the dark hair and brown skin that is the stamp of the Cullach Gorrym. However she also bears grey-green eyes from the Fhalair Ban, a throwback to her great grandmother, Grainne, Lady of the Dalriada. She has fine features and appears almost wraith like, something of an almost otherworldly appearance.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs): Having grown up in the wilderness of Alba, Chantal has become rather wild herself. She finds it hard to trust and her moods can be somewhat mercurial and contradictory. She has a mischeivous streak, borne of the eldritch gifts she has inherited from her Alban ancestors. She enjoys mind games and challenges.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs): Chantal's blood lineage is very complex. She is descended from the Lady of the Dalriada and Fergus of the Maghuin Dhonn, through their son Conor. Aware of the cursed blood running through his veins, he sought to marry one of the princesses of the Cullach Gorrym, which resulted in a daughter, Morwen. For the most part she grew up in relative peace, until she became aware of the truth of the Maghuinn Dhonn, and decided she wanted naught to do with any of it; electing to marry a D'Angeline ambassador who had arrived in a delegation sent from Terre d'Ange, to get away from it all.
Chantal was born from that union, though her father died shortly afterwards, leaving her nothing but her name. Sensing that her daughter was as fey as any Alban child, Morwen decided to raise Chantal in isolation. They lived contentedly together, Morwen tutoring Chantal to read her dreams, though steering clear of the gifts of the Maghuin Dhonn. Eventually, Morwen passed away, leaving Chantal truly alone.
Though her mother wanted naught to do with the Maghuin Dhonn, Chantal still sought them out and learned their ways. She understands that she is a child of diluted blood, and not wholly accepted by any of the Alban tribes, yet by the same token she belongs to them all. She spends her days like a wild creature, hunting and practising her limited gifts of magic and the sight. Sometimes she wonders about her father's country, and entertains notions of maybe one day going there now that her mother can no longer object.
