I could tell that Eric was a bit nervous and that made a lot of sense, especially since I knew about his history and everything that went along with it. Giving him another comforting smile I patted his arm, then took another look around. There was Victoire, looking as though she was feeling a bit better but still with some darkness in her eyes, and I watched her for a moment before a voice behind me caught my attention and I jumped slightly.
Turning around I saw my cousin Ghislain with a lovely woman, looking very happy indeed and I gave him a cheerful smile. "Hello Ghislain," I replied, then noticed we were at the front of the line and faced the man who was standing and greeting people. "I am Noemi," I replied with a polite curtsy, my smile never fading. "And you must be the Duc de Clairmont, and Princess Phreya. It's wonderful to meet you both, and congratulations on your engagement. This is my friend Eric Lamont, and my cousin Ghislain de Trevalion, and his escort." I didn't know Henrietta so I couldn't really introduce her myself but I was sure my cousin would.

“No, I haven’t,” I said, my cheeks coloring softly. I sighed. “I haven’t been able to find the right time to tell Christophe, and I have to tell him first. If he’s alright with it, then he’ll help me with the others. I’ll do it soon, I promise.”

It was rude to correct nobles 'higher' than oneself, so I said nothing as Amie introduced me as Fellstone and not de Valliers. I knew that at some point the name would be asked about. I could explain then.
I offered my hand with a smile and a short bow. My Skaldic pride bristled that I even did that much. I was never one to politic.
"The pleasure is all mine, Lady Trevalion." I replied, my eyes never leaving hers. "And please, just call me Hal."

I glanced behind me and saw a lovely woman on the arm of a very princely looking man. His looks certainly suited his title. And she would make a wonderful princess if she wasn't already.
Noemi introduced us and I bowed with eyes lowered, saying nothing, but proud to be here, and to be introduced as Noemi's friend.

Noemi introduced us and I then added. "This is lady Henrietta Langois," I inched a little closer to her and briefly whispered. "Never met them before today." I was so happy to have her beside me, and to, in a sense, show her off.

My lips curved into a wicked smile, and I pulled a little harder on her strap to draw her closer to me, then released it. My hand moved to fall away, but I let it brush over her breast as it did, my fingertips catching and pinching her nipple on the way.
"And do you plan to be a good girl for me, Jessamine?" I murmured, my gaze hawkish, intent, boring down into her own as we stood close together.

By the time we arrived, the party seemed to be going well, and I smiled as I exited the carriage behind Delaunay. "I'm so excited for your sister and Lucien," I said, casting my smile and my gaze both up at him as I slipped my hand into his arm to walk up to the building together.

He answered me at last, after introductions were made, and I gave Ghislain a warm, private smile before greeting those around us. "Good evening," I greeted, dipping into a curtsy befitting my station to them, and upon rising I gave each the Princess Phreya and the Duc Lucien a friendly smile. "Congratulations on your impending marriage, your Highness, your Grace."

I found myself falling into the depths of his eyes. I could lose my dignity following him, but the connection was so enticing I didn't care. I moved closer to him as he pulled on my strap, and then watched while he released it. I felt both a sense of relief and a hint of disappointment.
My voice was high pitched and slightly husky, "If that is what you wish of me, m'lord." I enjoyed obeying, but occasionally I would be bad, just to see how much punishment I could endure.
I was so pulled in by Kendrick, I barely saw anyone else around me, including the muscular half Skaldi man I had met a few days ago.

It seemed that most of the family was turning out and I recognized Amelie easily enough, flashing her a crooked grin in return for her smile. Sophie had asked me to watch out for her as well and I fully intended to, not only because of the money but because she was another Princess and I wondered if she shared Sophie's tastes and tendencies. What if I managed a tryst with both of them, two sister Princesses? That would be new and very, very enjoyable. As the introductions continued though I kept my features mostly smooth and gave a slight bow in reply. "Nice to meet one of the Princess's companions," I replied in a sedate tone as I wondered what she meant by that word purely for the sake of curiosity.

I’d heard there was a fete, the engagement of two somebody’s that were important to society here. All that mattered to me was that there’s been an invitation arrive at the house and there were to be women there. I could always report that I was looking over women who might be presented to me by the Queen, see how they were out in society, but I didn’t really care for having to have a reason.
Dressed in black breeches and gold shirt with a splash of red around my waist, I entered the fete. Snatching a glass from a passing tray, I sipped at the overly sweet wine as I looked around the room.

I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about her response, though it was more or less what I'd expected. I brought my hand to her waist and tugged her against me, my fingers capturing her midsection, thumbs hooking down to her inner hips and fingers 'round to her tailbone.
"For the rest of the night, I'd like you to call me Master. In public, in private; you won't address me as anything else until I give you leave to."
My lips found her ear, and I gave the lobe a light nip before I drew it between my teeth and suckled it. This bloody function was as uptight as a Cassilines arse, and already I was ready to leave. My hands tightened and pulled her flat against me before I let her earlobe go, and disengaged myself completely from her. Lifting my glass, I took a drink and cast my gaze out, seeing Emeric in the crowd and surrounded by a bunch of girls. Working, I figured; I'd not met his charge and I had no interest in her. Princes and princesses, from my limited experience, were haughty and irritating.
"Lets mingle." I held my arm for her by reflex as I glanced at her, giving her a predatory smile.

I sucked my breath in again, when he pulled me against his hard form. I could immediately envision what it might be to press against him nude. I wished that we were both nude then, and the members in the room faded away.
I nodded at his command to call him Master. My lips curved into a smirk, because I loved the idea of speaking in such a way in public. I spoke softly, "Yes, Master"
I craned my neck slightly to the side to give him better access at my ear. I let out a soft moan as he nibbled on my ear. I let out a breath of air as he let go of me as if he had grown bored of me. It only excited me further.
I took a sip of my wine and watched while he looked about the room. I smiled back at his predatory smile and responded in a submissive tone, "Yes, Master."
I looked about the room for the first time, and my eyes landed on Hal. I noticed that he was with a female noble that I hadn't seen before. My eyes drank him on for a moment, wondering if he had gotten my letter telling him the cancel of my debut. I had sent it only hours ago, so there was a chance he had not received it yet. I hope he wouldn't be too disappointed at loosing the opportunity to bid for me. Of course, he could contract me at another time.
I turned back to Master, ready to follow where ever he would lead.

I kept trying to avoid Kendrick, but where ever I want, I was watching him. I tried to look at the art, but my eyes just kept traveling back to him. He kept leaning into her, plucking the straps of her dress, and the longer I watched, the more irritated I became. The more irritated I got, the more angry ... why did I even care?
And all I could drink was water or juice, because the midwife said no alcohol as long as I was nursing, and as irritated as I was, I wasn't taking any chances with Jace. I toyed with the idea of leaving, but I didn't want to give Kendrick the satisfaction ... even though he didn't know I was here.
Sighing, I forced my eyes away once more, wandering through the crowd and trying to find a vantage point from which I could not see Kendrick, nor he see me.

As the young man next to Amie's sister speaks, my eyes flash towards him. The barest hint of a smile turned up the corners of my mouth. There were so many ways to answer such a thing, but Amie's honor was possibly at stake in such things. I liked her and would never besmirch her.
"Merely an escort to this event, in this case. " I replied to the unspoken question. It was the truth at least.
I glanced back to Amie's sister, an apologetic look upon my face at my introduction having been disrupted. I turned back to the other man coolly. "Hal de Valliers." I extended my hand in greeting to him.

My sister was engaged and I was very happy for her, especially since I liked Lucien and I was first of all looking forward to having a brother in law as well as my sisters happiness. She was marrying a Siovalesse man and there was a lot to be said to the fact that our family has had a long standing relationship with the province itself, ever since my father was adopted into Phedre no Delaunay's house hold. My sister and I, despite being of a Kushieling background, had grown up in the Montreve countryside.
So of course when the news came to me that she was having a fete I was going to go no matter what and I was most definitely going to take Azabel. The only issue that I had was how much I wanted to tell everyone that Aza and were once again engaged, but I wouldn't are ruin my sister's day just because I was happy with my relationship.
When we arrived at the fete I exited first and then helped Azabel down before we headed inside. "I'm happy for them too." I replied as I smiled to Aza then leaned over and kissed her cheek. "I'm happy that she's happy because I know how much she loves Lucien." We entered the building and I spotted my sister right away. "Should we greet them right away or grab a drink first?"

I had held my tongue as the man was borderline rude to us, first not giving me my proper rank and then smirking at Emeric. But it was a near thing. I wasn't one to pull rank, but neither was I one to have it stripped from me either. "Amelie you simply have to tell us how you met Hal," I said. Mai had told me that she would be safe to arrive with her escort, but now she was introducing him as her companion? Who was this man? The older sister in me demanded to find out.

I missed out on a bit of the conversation as I was too busy being mortified that I’d gotten Hal’s surname wrong. Of course he would rather be introduced by his D’angeline name, you ninny! By the time I recovered my wits, Sophie was asking us how we’d met. This presented me with something of a dilemma, because I did not wish to lie to my sister, but neither did I wish to upset her with the truth. I decided on the truth, simply because if I was going to do something, I should be able to accept the consequences of it.
“I went out on my own not too long ago, and there was a cutpurse in the Square. He stole a woman’s purse and I intervened, foolishly, I know, but luckily Hal was there to protect me. He ran the man off, and offered to escort me for the rest of the day, so that I would be safe.” I tried to paint the incidence as lightly as possible, though my encounter with the thief was sure to upset my sister, no matter that it had come to naught.

My smile widened a little, an I had to work to keep it tempered. My eyes followed his fondly, and I reached with my free hand, smoothing a nonexistant wrinkle out of his shirt over his stomach, and secretly loving the little excuse to touch him like such.
"I think it looks rather spectacular on you too. Mayhap my wedding dress should be this color," I added, teasing and not at the same time. As long as I was married to him, I didn't care what color I was wearing.

My smile took on a decidedly cocky cast as I began strolling with her, leading her 'round the room. I had no real intentions on pampering her and patting her head whenever she was good, but then again, I wouldn't do that to anyone. If she pleased me she would know, just as I was sure if I was pleasing her she'd let me know.. again and again, louder and louder.
My cocky smile hooked slightly, and I strolled through the crowds, my gait rolling and sauntering. Already I was growing bored with the party; I'd gone because I could, to keep my face known among society, but I was not a sociable person. "Lets finish our drinks and head out of here, little one," I said, but as the words left my mouth I saw a flash of blue-black hair that I'd recognize anywhere.
Naia.
What in the blue balls was she doing here? She didn't bring our son, did she? She left him alone? My brows furrowed, and I drew us to a halt where I stood, watching her from over the top of a faceless couple. "On second thought, I see some business I must attend," I murmured. Breaking my gaze from Naia, I took Jess's face up in mine and pressed my lips to hers, stealing a quick, sharp kiss from her. "Come."
It irritated me severely, how my night with my Valerian adept was being interrupted by the need to confront Naia. I glared now, not bothering to mask my features, not caring if anyone knew I was aggrivated; why should I? I released her arm in favor of putting my hand behind her, not on the small of her back up quite securely upon her buttocks. I might be interrupted, but I wasn't going to let any opportunities pass.
We reached Naia, and I glared at her. "Lady Shahrizai. What a surprise to see you here."

It was as she walked about the room that I noticed Mine. And the man she was with... angry and glowering, sauntering. My blood ran cold, but I ripped my gaze back to the two before me. I was keenly aware of Amie at my side. Besides, what was Mine, to me, really? We'd only just talked. Amie and myself had shared, something. I wasn't quite sure just what, but it was there.

I was already relaxed and enjoying myself, on Delaunays strong, self assured arm, and I cast him a smile as we entered the foray together. "Lets get a drink.. I'm sure they're both quite busy," I replied. My opposite hand came up to toy with his fingers of the arm I held, sliding over them idly as I looked about us. "It looks like a goodly amount showed up," I added.

I walked beside Kendrick/Master, through the room, smiling and giving a nod to others as I passed them by. Besides, Hal- I hadn't seen anyone I recognized. And then my eyes lit up on my cousin, Landis! I tried to see if he could see me, but then I heard Master talk about leaving. A part of me wanted to stay and socialize, but apart of me wanted to be with Kendrick. I liked the idea of having him make decisions for me, it sent a thrill to my torso.
I took a sip of my wine and looked up at Kendrick/Master when I noticed that he had seen someone of interest to him. I saw his expression and then heard him talk about business. I wondered if this was economical or personal, but it didn't seem appropriate for me to ask. I was beginning to believe that he liked it when I was quiet, and that suited me fine.
He looked away from the person, and then lifted my head for a kiss. I eager complied, enjoying the sharp contact. His treatment was sending heat coursing through my veins. I could feel my thighs dampen, and I hoped that I wouldn't drip onto the floor. I loved the sound of his one word command.
I sucked in my breath when I felt him place his hand on my bottom and began directing me that way. I walked beside him, allowing him to lead me to whoever it seemed he was intent on speaking to.
We stopped in front of a dark haired, beautiful blue eyed woman. I gave her a shy smile, silently admiring her. I wasn't sure if Kendrick/Master would introduce me or not. I almost wished he wouldn't, since it would put emphasis on my presence as a sex object. I was becoming more and more anxious to be with him alone.

Oh Gods, I hadn’t managed to avoid Kendrick in the least, and now here he was, with his little red-haired … daughter? The girl looked too young to be out of the house, much less on the arm of someone like him. I almost felt sorry for her.
“Lord Deveroix,” I replied in the same tone he’d used. “I didn’t expect to see you here. Were all the bars and whorehouses in the City full up tonight?” I did not even acknowledge the girl, trying not to pay any attention to how pretty she was and how soft and shiny her hair looked in the soft light.

The adept was a quiet thing, apparently either not having anything to talk about or assuming I preferred her that way. Later, I'd see that she not only talked, but screamed, but now? Now, I was glaring at Naia, my hand tightening on the rear of the adept I'd contracted.
Naia was pushing me, I could feel it, hear it in her voice, and it only served to make me more mad. What right did she have to have an attitude with me? I wasn't the one abandoning our newborn for a night out.
"I wouldn't know, Naia darling. I'm not on a first-name basis with them as much as I'd like to be." My mouth smirked, and my chin lifted haughtily, but when I spoke again, it was through my teeth. "Where's Jace? Why aren't you with him?"
