I came in with Noemi, my eyes widening at once as I took in the decorations and all the excitement. I smiled at her and gave her hand a light squeeze. "It seems wonderful so far, thank you for inviting me along." I wore a white coat with a high color and slate blue trimming. My pants were slate with white trim. I wore no gloves, allowing the little bit of scarring on my right hand to show, a little redder than the skin around it.

The Princess had her little chat with the woman of the engaged pair and I stood by idly as she did so, then followed Sophie as she moved on. "Oh, I never refuse a drink," I told her with a charming crooked grin, more people coming and going but none of them really catching my attention at the moment. "What are the choices for such a posh party as this, Princess?"

"I did promise I'd show you a party," I told him with a light laugh, then started to step inside, gently drawing him along with me until we were inside. There was art on all of the walls and for a moment I simply stopped to look at it. What a clever place to think of holding a party! No matter what there would be something to look at and think about even if the guests had to wait before greeting the host and hostess. I didn't know either of them, but the Princess was a distant cousin of mine and I'd met her brother Delaunay at the fete when Victoire and I had come to the City. "I should go up and say hello to the engaged couple," I replied a moment later, giving Eric another smile. "Do you want to come? If not I can wait for a few minutes or you could look around."

I looked around still, at the art, the people. For a second, a split second, I felt completely inadequate. But then Noemi spoke to me and all that went away. "I'll come with you," I told her.

I asked Henrietta if she would like to accompany to the Engagement fete and the answer was met with a resounding yes. I figured she would reply in kind but still the answer made my heart jump. In the short time we'd been together I was falling for her hard. I wore my finest Azure suit with gold trim, real gold in the threads. She was on my arm, looking like a gem as we entered, just behind my sisters and their "bodygaurd." I had a surprise in mind for the night as well, and it was partially what kept the smile so bright on my face.
I leaned in and whispered to Henrietta, "I'm so glad you could come. You're without a doubt the prettiest thing here."

The moment I'd received Ghislains invitation to accompany him to the engagement fete of Princess Phreya de a Courcel and the Sovereign Duc Lucien de Clairmont, I'd begun planning; what I would wear, my hair, how the night would go, my jewelry and perfume, shoes and accessories... a thousand different things, and mostly to cover up my own nervousness, not that I'd ever admit that. By the time Ghislain arrived to take me to the fete with him though, I was calm and smiling, having squelched anything but composure.
Arriving now, on his arm as I was, I was filled with pride and self-satisfaction. I was fond of Ghis, and that he was fond of me as well was a marvelous thing. I turned to smile at him as he spoke, but his words brought a tiny little laugh, something small and private, shared only between us.
"You flatter me," I responded, my eyes dancing as I looked at him. "Surely the bride-to-be will outshine all the women here," I added, my fingers drawing against his arm, enjoying the little contact of affection.

I was rather self-satisfied these days; my.. er.. well, Naia had given birth to my son, and Emeric was back in town again, apparently content to actually stay around this time. I was glad to have him, to know I wasn't alone anymore. With Father, Julie, Vincent and Mother all gone, some days I felt as if I hadn't another soul to call family on the earth, and now I had two. Two!
It was all cause for celebration, and I couldn't think of a better way than contracting some sweet tulip from Valerian. A virgin; it was her debut night tonight, and I was rather pleased, too, that I'd managed to disrupt her debut auction and have it closed before it could begin. Granted, it cost me more than it otherwise would have, but it fit my mood perfectly tonight, and as far as I was concerned it was money well spent.
Smiling as the carriage arrived, I exited first and held my hand out for Jessamine, acting the part of the gentleman for now; that, too, suited me. "Here we are," I said, stating the obvious, but what else did one say to a perfect stranger?

I had been a somewhat disappointed when I learned that a noble wanted to purchase a assignation before auction. I had been looking forward to listening to the bids, but then I realized how it would be better for my future to accept such a patron. Although, I had dreamed of Hal winning me over, I was not upset about someone else winning- after I saw him. He had purchased a dress for me, and so far seemed the gentleman. He was also incredibly handsome, and I was finding it difficult to keep from starring at him.
The dress he purchased for me was of a light golden color, which was perfect for my skin tone and bright red hair. The halter top had a very deep cleavage with a line of strips of fabric across. There were loose ruffles that went down the front and then a slit from knee down to ankle. It was stunning, giving a glimpse of my silky flesh, while still being appropriate for the engagement fete'.
I took his hand as I made my way down the stairs, making sure that I didn't trip. I knew how important it was to be graceful. He had chosen me to come to this fete', and I was determined not to embarrass him.
I searched my mind to figure out who the fete' was for, so that I could at least keep myself well informed. When I remembered, I asked in a soft tone, "Are you friends with the Duc Clairmont or the Princess Courcel?" My Dowayne had told me that this was a very exclusive party, and so I assumed that Kendrick would know one or both in the couple.

I was just finishing my first circuit of the room, feeling a bit tired already, and wondering if I'd get a chance to greet the happy couple before I went running back to Jace, when I saw him - Kendrick. I was surprised but pleased, perhaps we could ...
I realized with a start that he wasn't alone. A girl was holding his hand, a slip of a thing with red hair and I felt a sudden drop in my belly. I felt my fingernails digging into the palms of my hands, and I had to force myself to relax. Why should I be jealous, Kendrick was nothing to me besides Jace's father. Still, I remembered another party, where he'd placed his hand on my swollen belly and we'd shared a moment that had made me look at him in a different light.
I whirled around suddenly, not wanting him to see me, and tried to find someone else I knew, anyone else, not wanting him to know that I was here by myself. The only person I recognized was Emeric, who would never do. I cursed and at least tried to put as much distance between myself and Kendrick as I possibly could.

I’d been thrilled when the news came that Lucien and Phreya were engaged. In fact, I was so happy for them that I even forwent my usual black and white attire and got a shirt to coordinate with Joie’s gown.
We joined the queue of those waiting to greet the happy couple and I smiled at Joie. “Leave it to Lucien to make such a big deal out of getting her to say yes,” I said with a chuckle.

"Not in my eyes," I whispered back to her, allowing myself a quick but full look at Henrietta in her red dress with a slit that revealed much of those perfect legs. I glanced around, trying to decide where we should go. First off of course would be to greet our hosts for the evening and offer our congratulations, so I began leading us in that direction. After that, well I should like to talk to our new bodyguard. Oh and of course cousin Noemi!

Still a virgin, my Valerian adept seemed so sweet and unassuming with.. Well, everything. I half eyed her, expecting to see her eyes pop out of her head when we arrived, but she held herself with more poise than I'd have thought; I was glad for it, though it did lose a bit of entertainment value.
"Know them?" I said, repeating her question back to her with a slight raise of my brow. "No, I don't know them. My title speaks for itself.. I imagine it's much the same for most of the people here."
Leading her up the path and into the building, I didn't hesitate, but looked around the room. My chin was raised slightly at a cocky angle without thinking of it, and I began our slow circuit by walking towards the right. "Have you ever been to a party outside the Night Court, little one?" I asked, glancing down at her as I stopped a server. I plucked a glass of red wine for her off the tray and held it out, waiting for her to take it before I selected my own.

The decor of the room was quite luxurious, but I managed to keep shock from my expression. I would be going to these places more often and I needed to become used to the extravagant decor. I picked up a glass of wine after Kendrick chose his. I had a fairly low tolerance for alcohol, so I would have to be sure that I didn't drink too much.
I nodded when he mentioned that he didn't know the couple. My lips curved up at the nickname he had given me. I shook my head, "No...I had the chance to explore some of Night's Doorstep, but I've never been to the Temple District before. " I took a sip of my wine, unsure of what else to say. I didn't want to come off as immature and say something foolish. I was his eye candy for tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted me to be seen and not heard.

"Alright," I agreed, still smiling as I brought my hand to the crook of his elbow the same as I would have for anyone else, then started to lead him toward the greeting line. "See, the man is Sovereign Duc Lucien de Clairmont from Siovale, and the lady is Princess Phreya. I've never met them but I guess this is my chance." The line moved forward and I watched for when we'd be able to speak to the engaged couple.

How utterly proud I was to be here, on Ghislains arm like this. The smile on my mouth stayed as he took a quick once-over of me, and I caressed his arm lightly with my fingers as we walked. I didn't mind wherever he was taking me, content to follow him through the crowds; he knew more people here than I I was sure, being the secondary sister to a small household.
"You look quite dashing yourself," I added softly, my voice pitched for him in hopes of not embarrassing him in front of anyone else. "Do you know the Duc and Princess very well?"

I was excited to be here, a fact that was enhanced only by the comparably good humor Quinn bore. My hand held his, a more intimate embrace than normal couples, but I enjoyed the close contact it gave. He looked utterly lovely, and I was as proud as ever to be with him.
His words made me laugh, and I gave his hand a soft squeeze. "You two definitely act like brothers together," I said, smiling fondly.

I just nodded and kept in step with her. My eyes looked to the couple and smiled. Those eyes then wandered around. The men all looked so dashing, and the women were all so very beautiful. I wanted to explore but I found myself pulling closer to Noemi.

“If I’d had a blood brother, I would have wanted him to be just like Lucien,” I replied, smiling. I brought our joined hands to my lips and kissed her knuckles. “Have I mentioned how spectacular you look tonight? I love that color on you.”

Once she took the wine, I selected a stout glass of brandy for myself and the servant glided off. I watched her as she took little sips, and for a moment I paid attention not to the people around us, but to the little slip of a girl on my arm.
"You do look quite ravishing in that dress," I commented. Brazenly, I brought my free hand up to draw my index finger over her collar bones, then dip down her sternum to stroke the flesh between her breasts. Curving my finger, I plucked at the straps that held her gown together, and a wicked smile filtered over my mouth.
"Tell me," I said curiously, my voice a low rumble in my chest. "What would you do if I cut these straps, right here and now, and exposed your breasts to everyone surrounding us?"

I blushed at his compliment and responded in a soft voice, "You have excellent taste in clothes. The dress fits perfect." My eyes took in his as I felt his finger trace over my collar bone and stroke the flesh between my breasts. I sucked in my breath, as I felt my whole body heat up at the light touch.
My tongue came out of my mouth and swiped lightly across my bottom lip when I saw his wicked smile. I was so eager to please him. I breathed out slowly when the deep rumble of his voice sent shivers through my torso.
I licked my lips again before looking around the room. I wondered what the other guests would think were he to do something like that. Although, I wanted to give myself more time to respond, I allowed myself to respond the way I truly felt I should respond in my spirit.
My eyes met his as I spoke in a soft submissive voice, "I would do whatever you wished of me, my Comte" I could feel my knees trembling at the thought of walking about the fete' with my breasts exposed. Would he really ask me to do such a thing or was he merely trying to arouse me? Either way, I was anxious for his response.

We got into the line to greet the hosts and I just smiled in reply to Henrietta. We came in behind my cousin Noemi and the young man accompanying her. I wondered for a moment if it was a suitor. He seemed to be her age, or perhaps a year younger. I gave her a light tap on the shoulder and waited for her to turn around. "Hello cousin!"

The next couple approached, and once more I smiled, though I was taken aback for a moment when the couple turned into a foursome. "Princess Noemi I presume? Thank you for coming. Though I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the rest of your party," I added, looking to the people around her. Alright, perhaps I could do this whole hosting thing, though Phreya was still far better at it.

Mercy's words stung in a way that she probably didn't realize; seeing people together and happy reminded me of what I didn't have. I may not have been able to become a Casseline as a child but the life I led now was perilously close to one, filled with discussions of battles and strategy and with only the contact of friends in the midst of all of that. "I'm very glad that he's found love," I replied instead, smiling slightly and taking a sip of my wine. "Though I've never wished for anyone to be married off and taken away. Has that happened to many of your friends in Aragonia?"

"A fete like this? They'll have just about anything that tickles your fancy," I said with a wry smile before I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to find Amelie, escorted by a very good-looking redhead. I didn't give him the once-over with my eyes, though it was tempting. "Hello sis," I said with a smile, kissing her on the cheek.

The prospect made her nervous, I could tell, and I toyed with the idea of letting a drop of brandy fall onto the exposed side of her breast only so I could bend and lick it off. I wanted to taste her skin, to feel it beneath my hands, to see what exactly her mouth could do to my prick.
The thought of it made my phallus twitch and I pulled a little harder at the strap, a threatening gesture preceding the actual snapping of it. "Tell me how it would make you feel," I growled softly, not quite sure yet whether I was going to break it or not.

I could feel my heart rapidly pumping in my chest as he pulled harder on the strap. The anxiety was driving me crazy, and I could already feel a dampness between my thighs.
He growled into my ear and I wanted to move to my knees at his command. I continued my soft submissive tone, "Humiliated... embarrassed..... aroused..." My words were brief and to the point, and very honest.

"Either," I replied with a chuckle as we entered into the guild hall and were immediately surrounded by beautiful works of art. Thankfully Marie outshone them all, so I didn't get distracted. I received not a reply to my question to Ghislain; he looked at me and smiled only before turning to greet someone he named cousin, and I had to check my feelings before they could manifest on my face. I wasn't accustomed to being ignored; it shocked me, hurt me, and irritated me all, but there was no point in holding onto the feelings.. not with everything else. Instead of my face falling, I smiled instead and remained silent, letting Ghislain talk to whom he willed until I was called upon to speak.

I returned Sophie's kiss of greeting and flashed a smile to her bodyguard, before introducing Hal. I had practiced all the day before pronouncing his name right, because it would have been horribly rude to mispronounce it.
"Sophie, may I introduce you to my..." Escort? Date? Friend? "Companion, Baron Hjalmer Fellstone. Hal, this is my sister, Princess Sophie de Trevalion, and Emeric Deveroix." I realized after I said it that putting their names together like that might suggest they were a couple, but I hoped it wouldn't be noticeable to anyone else.
