Felicja is and looks to be the product of Camaeline and Skaldic heritage. Her father being a Camlach lordling and her mother from Skaldia, Felicja's has come out with very fair hair, so light it is almost white and shines like platinum in the sun during summer, though it has some honeyed undertones as well. It reaches far down her back, full and straight, though she sometimes curls it to frame her face and fall down her shoulders like spun silk. Her eyes are a clear, icy blue that never shift or change, but sometimes make her appear a bit spaced when she stares off into the distance, unfocussed, even when her mind might be, though it does have the tendency to wander. Her skin is the palest cream - as white as ivory, though her cheeks tend to flush a pretty soft pink when she is under the influence of Opium, which she tends to indulge in as often as possible in her profession, seeking the inner silence it brings, even if she is using it to ply her art. She tends to be an outside thinker, though she often keeps much of her odd or liberal thinking to herself, having learned better in Cereus House, unless, of course, it is a vision of sorts, then she is sure to share it with whomever it affects - whether it be a patron or her younger sister, also a Gentian, or with the Dowayne of her House. Albeit rather quiet and seeming even frail at times, she is a lovely girl, and a strong girl with unwavering belief in her ideals. She can be hardened at times, and does definitely have a chip on her shoulder when it comes to the topic of family, specifically her father. Otherwise, she is sweet and kind with that underlying fire to fight for what she believes to be right, coming from the blood of her parents' lines, though certainly not directly from either of them, at least so she believes. She is beautiful like all d'Angeline, though the sharper angles of her jaw and cheeks are more from her mother's side, as is her figure. She is not terribly full at the chest or hips, appearing more waiflike than voluptuous or curvy as many other d'Angelines and adepts tend to be. Felicja is of average height and moves with a sort of whimsical grace that makes her appear as though her head is in the clouds. Having spent a few years in Cereus, in her silence, she tends to appear a little snobbish, having perfect carriage when she sits and walks, and having spent a few years in Eglantine, she has picked up the skill of drawing quickly and with more accuracy, but now in Gentian, where she belongs, she has found her centre and is far happier there than when she was in any of the other Houses.
History:[/b]
Magda, a Skaldi woman with big dreams of splendour and beauty, came to Terre d'Ange from one of the bordering Skaldic settlements, a pretty young thing with bright unassuming eyes, a little bit of coin and extremely overzealous dreams to see the beauty and finery of the angels she knew lived in the nation just next door. She had packed up her belongings to go find herself a job, to make some coin and perhaps even marry herself one of these beautiful beings who would take care of and provide for her. She was allowed this without much of a fight, and so she ventured to Camlach, the closest province of Terre d'Ange to seek out work. There she went from estate to estate, seeking a job as a maid with her rough d'Angeline, but she did not fair terribly well. She had spent all her coin, and relied on a little trick she had been taught in her homeland by her own mother, dowsing with a stick to find food and water and direction. She had not known how hard it would be, and was going to give up until one day as she was travelling a dirt road, a man nigh ran her over with his horse. Dismounting, he apologized with a bow and a smile that melted her heart, and introduced himself as Damien Gregoire. To her, things were looking up. He offered her a ride back to his estate, which she readily took. Once there, she explained, as best she could in her broken d'Angeline, that she was looking for work as a maid. To him, she was a pretty face, and ready and willing to please, and to her he was the ticket she needed. He kept her as his maid and mistress, coming to her to clean his clothes, cook his meals, and sate his desires. She figured that, one day, he would do the right thing, ask her hand in marriage, especially when their first child, Felicja, came along, but still nothing changed. When Felicja was two, another child was born, a boy who they named Edvin (Edwin), and again, two years later, their third child, Felicja's little sister, Kasia, was born. By this time Felicja was four.
Felicja struggled with the two languages, taking better to her mother's language as her mother learned more d'Angeline and tried to teach her children both. Her mother taught her how to dowse, telling her thought to keep this ability a secret as she was not sure how it would be viewed in Terre d'Ange. Felicja helped around the estate, cleaning, milking cows, and once using the pendant her mother gave her to find a location for a well. Felicja did not socialize much, though she did become friends with a few children of neighbouring estates. She did not have many friends though as she was ostracized for the most part, due to her quiet nature, and the fact that she was a bastard child with a Skaldi mother.
Damien's estate was having some trouble - feeding and clothing his bastard children and his mistress maid was makig him run out of funds, and he was forced to marry a woman of higher standing with a prosperous estate of her own. The single requirement she had was that he denounce his mistress and her children and send them on their way, which he did for fear of seeing his own name and estate muddied and dwindle to naught. So on Felicja's 7th birthday, and a week before his wedding date, Damien explained to Magda that she had to leave him and find employment elsewhere. He suggested she go back to Skaldia, but she knew this was not an option, for it would only bring disgrace upon her family and herself to return with nothing but three fatherless children. Damien suggested then that she take the children to the Night Court, even suggesting the girls would do well in Cereus House, but she did not want to part with her children unless it was necessary. He gave her a bit of coin and she left, heartbroken that she was cast aside thusly, but still grateful to him for the hospitality he had given her over the years and the lovely children she had. With that, she packed up her children and left, still optimistic that the kindness she was once shown would be shown again, and looking for another home as she made her way across Camlach towards the City.
Magda and her children struggled. She found nothing to do in the provinces, as no one was willing to hire a maid with three children they would have to also feed and house, and two of them being two young to make themselves useful in a household anyways. It quickly became imperative for her to separate herself from her children. Remembering Damien's parting words, she took her little girls to Cereus House, begging in her d'Angeline, which was still accented and broken, but far better than when she arrived. The House took the two girls, but the boy they would not take, and so she kept him, hoping that as he grew he would be able to provide for her.
From then Felicja and Kasia were raised in Cereus, though the two were separated when Kasia went to Gentian and Felicja was sent to Eglantine. The Dowayne saw that she had a future in art, seeing the multiple sketches she had made, and mistaking it for artistic talent. When she was in Eglantine, though, they realised that what she was drawing, the rough sketches she hurriedly made in something of a dazed trance, were the visions of things to come, and so she was taken into Gentian. Her learning was very disjointed, but she picked up traits from each house she inhabited, the stoic grace of Cereus, the artistic ability of Eglantine, and finally she was reunited with her sister in Gentian. Now 20, she remains an adept in Gentian House, specializing in reading runes, dowsing, pictomancy and reading the entrails of disembowelled animals. She loves Gentian, and truly feels at home there as she grows and learns the various ways of parting the veils of life and death and time to help those who seek her find the answers they need.
