I accepted the quill and signed next to my first signature that I made nearly two years ago. One less step I needed to take to be a recognized fully marqued adept. Finishing the signing, I handed the quill back.

I took the quill and then added my name to the others. Straightening up, I smiled and offered him my hand. “Congratulations,” I said.

“My pleasure, Crispin,” I said, smiling as we shook hands. Then I released his hand so he could dress.

He released my hand and I returned to where I had left my clothes so I could change into my clothes. It took me a few minutes because of the fresh marque, but I emerged fully dressed and a smile on my face.

When he appeared again, I smiled. “Feel free to come back should you need any ointment or if you need remarquing,” I told him.

"I will, thank you." I wanted to show Kaden and Octavian once I returned to the House. Not in that order, of course.

I watched him go, feeling a sense of pride at having helped him attain his freedom, then returned to cleaning up.
