Name: Baron Alain de la Fontaine
Age: 52
Gender: Male
Height: 6’1”
Race: d’Angeline
Appearance / Personality:
Alain is what one might expect of a man with a good d’Angeline upbringing who has already seen and experienced many years. He is mature and reliable, steady and dependable, yet still has not lost his youthful nature. He knows how to have a good laugh and is not one to shy away from flirting with the ladies because of his age, if anything, it actually encourages him further, for as he says he has “twice as much experience” as other men that might be courting them. He is very empathetic and sensitive to the feelings of others and is quite a gentleman, someone who is very easy to get along with and avoids skirmishes whenever possible. A charming older man, he knows how to treat a woman though he is not quite ready to take on a long term lover just yet, it does not stop him from flirting or taking on short term affections.
Despite being an older man, Alain looks rather well and dashing for his age. His eyes are a deep brown, seasoned with knowledge of his many years while his hair, which used to be a bright blond, is fading to white, but somehow it suits him all the better. His hair is short and he keeps himself clean cut despite a bit of five o’ clock shadow he leaves from time to time to keep up a slightly rugged, yet distinguished appearance. Much to the surprise of those who do get into bed with him, his back is fully marqued with the seal of Orchis
House, though it is a tad bit faded. He still wears his wedding ring, too attached still to take it off just yet.
History:
Alain was born to a lower aristocrat family, but was raised in Orchis House after being deemed acceptable under the Dowayne. He was a rather popular adept at his time, successful, and seemed to take his canon ‘thou, and no other’ to most parts of his life, despite being an adept. He knew how to fall in love with the little intricacies of his patrons, to appreciate them for their unique qualities, and being quite empathetic, it made it easy for his patrons to get close and feel safe and secure around him. While he absolutely adored even the most minute qualities of his patrons, he completely fell in love with everything about Marie de la Fontaine, a young daughter to a Baroness who wanted to steal him away. And in fact, she eventually would, finishing off his marque for him with a rather hefty patron gift for his birthday. It was then that the two were practically inseparable and while he still worked under Orchis House, it was to Marie that he gave his coin to, that they might be seen as lovers.
He was not long at Orchis House before he retired, saving up enough of his own money and eventually asked Marie to marry him. Her parents, however, were quite against the union, however, the two eloped, making it through several years of rough times, even giving their first son to the Night Court, before Marie’s parents relented and finally permitted them to return home as a couple and it was then that Alain took on his wife’s surname, as he no longer was affiliated with Orchis House at all. They proceeded to have three more children together and generally lived, having quite a happy marriage with one another, at least until the flu epidemic swept the City of Elua and took his wife from him, just the year prior.
With a year, he has learned to cope though he still misses her dearly, to him she was his one and only, though he realizes that she is gone and has to learn to move on.
