Name:Ghislain de Trevalion
Age: 24
Height: 5'11
Gender: Male
Race: D'Angeline (Azzallese and a bit of Namarrese)
Home Province: Azzalle
Appearance: Ghislain is handsome to be sure, the perfect blending of his family's heritage. Born with almost white hair that eventually grew into a sandy blond. His eyes are a summer blue that reflect nothing but a carefree young man. Though Ghislain is fit and athletic, almost lithe his his build, he is not as tall as some of his kin boasting only 5'11. Something he is teased about, often referring to his height as what he inherited from his very short mother.
History: Born to Léander de Trevalion and Aveline Patricé, Ghislain is the eldest and the only son of five. Aveline is the second eldest from a Comty in Azzalle, small but with a lot of money, the marriage to her and Léander was made some time after her eighteenth natal. Though Aveline's house was of strong Azzallese, there is a small heritage of Namarrese within her lineage.
Léander is the second son of Ghislain nó Trevalion and Bernadette de Trevalion. Léander was always a quiet child and for the most part a quiet man. Often over looked, he always felt loved but it was Lucien that seemed to be the prize son and that never bothered Léander. He grew up unassumingly, an excellent education, all the things he could ever want, and he wanted for nothing till he meet Aveline. The marriage was a happy one, built on love, and though Léander's parents were unsure of whether it would be a politically proper marriage, they soon gave way to their child's love.
Léander and Aveline where happy as they grew older, learning each other and creating a home within the small estate down the road from his parent's Duchy. After six years of marriage Aveline gave birth to their first child. Ghislain was named after his grandfather, a noble name by his parent's standards.
As a young boy Ghislain was much like his father, quiet and unassuming, often reading, or alone as he played with the frogs at the pond. For many years he bore a strange fear of horses, and some of the larger animals on the land, so it was often that he stayed inside practicing his arithmetic. He was an often gawky and gangley young boy, awkward and often walking into things, breaking things and causing a hassle to the staff.
His mother often kept him close though, promising him that he would grow out of it. And soon enough he did, at thirteen he began to blossom, growing a foot within the summer. In his fourteenth year, was the first time he caught the eyes of the young ladies, and the strange and awkward boy before long became smooth and sophisticated.
Between the ages of fourteen and eighteen Ghislain spent his time around many females. First of all his four sisters, Sophie (2 years younger), Amelié (4 years younger), Cadice (5 years younger) and Rochelle (7 years younger) as well as their friends, his mother, and the staff. He spent many summers playing the game of courtship with the young girls, continuing his education, and at his family's insistence learning to ride properly (though he never fully got over his fear of horses). His father also hired him a instructor to teach him to bare arms. Léander had never felt the need to learn himself, so he thought it best for his son to learn just in case. The sword was not something that Ghislain was overly fond of, often feeling awkward with it, but he is passing proficient at it. He is a good wrestler though, his body perfect for doing so, lean for speed but muscular for strength. His childhood and youth was a carefree one, his family always having money, despite the lack of title, it made for a comfortable upbringing. Though he grew up the cousin of the crown, Ghislain and his siblings did not spend much time at court. Both Léander and Aveline agreed that court wasn't important for their children to be happy, and though Ghislain and the girls were not overly exposed to their royal lineage, they were sill raised with court manners and all the proper education that money could buy.
At eighteen Ghislain left for Tiberium, finding himself engrossed in the wonders of learning and new friends. He fit in well, though he didn't quite have the mind of those born of Shemhazai's lineage, he was in intelligent and kept himself busy with classes. For Ghislain this was probably the most exciting time in his life, he fell in love with a young maid (though things didn't work out between them), he learned all he could, and he gained much in the way of a life. Had he been any other young man he would have stayed their permenantly.
For the most part Ghislain has been living entirely in Tiberium, only returning home for six months when he was twenty, when his father had an accident on the estate. Léander hit his head very hard and slipped into a deep sleep for a fortnight, only to die in that very sleep.
Ghislain was torn in his feelings about his father's accident, as is Ghislain's personality he believes that all things happen for a reason and though he cried, he didn't mourn for too long believing it useless to mourn a man who no longer existed. He knew his father would be safe and taken care of in Terre d'Ange-that-lies-beyond. It had been a horrible time and Ghislain stayed on his family's farm till everything had been settled, leaving his mother and his sisters in charge of the estate, and then he returned back to Tiberium, finding solace there. When the war in Akkad broke out Ghislain was one of the first to sign up in for the Navy, and sailed, ferrying soldiers toward the war far away.
When the war was over Ghislain returned to Terre d'Ange as a decorated soldier, as a member of the Navy he was respected and well liked by all earning the respect of his seniors. Though Ghislain never saw battle on the field, he certainly saw much of the water and much of the devastation that came with the war.
The first thing that Ghislain did was return to his family's estate, deciding that despite his want to return to Tiberium, that his home was Terre d'Ange and that his family needed him. So there he has stayed, working on the land and rediscovering his home land. It was heart breaking when his cousin Prince August perished, bringing up thoughts of his father's death.
Now recently, Ghislain has heard of the tragic death of his other cousin Prince Sabriel, and though he mourns, he is in shock of the fact that the title that Sabriel quickly inherited has now been passed to him. He now prepares to come to the City of Elua and join others at court as he is offically made Sovereign Duc of Azzalle.
