"The side door," I chimed in, though it was just my opinion, I was no expert in these matters. I offered my reasoning as food for thought, "If the trouble has spilled over, it might not be wise to prance right up to the front door. We don't know if Andraiya was specifically targeted or if there is more at work here."

I picked up the poker, the last of the horses calm now, and pulled her into an empty stall. "We hide," I breathed, doing my best to hide us here. We had done what we could, now we waited for help to arrive. We had been brave, but we were also both royal. I had done my duty as a nurse, now it was time to do my duty as a princess to keep my head the heck down.

I huddled with her in the stall. It might have seemed strange, but I felt more secure here in the stables with the horses than I had outside.
I was still scared though and I kept hold of Sophie’s hand as we waited for the guard.
