Somewhere off the coast...
I'd finally caught her; it was rare to hear of a woman pirate, but Blackheart Bessamine was the most notorious of them, an actual female captain. As I went below decks, to the brig, I was curious what sort of woman she would turn out to be. She was rumored to be beautiful, but pirates were notorious for tall tales even more than for looting and raping. Little did I know that she would live up to the tales and then some.
She was a commoner, but she was clearly d'Angeline, that I could see as soon as I set eyes on her. Likely, Azzallese, but I was not sure of that until she spoke, and I heard the slight accent on her tongue, "So you're the one who finally caught me, de Morhban. At least it wasn't some green boy, barely fitting his captain's uniform." Her voice was almost a purr, and I couldn't help but wonder if she thought she would seduce her way to freedom. Giving her another look, I realized that it might just be worth letting her think she could.
"No, as you can tell, Bess, I'm far from a green sailor," I responded, a smirk on my lips as I approached closer to the beam she was tied to, as if on display for me, "Still, I had to see if you were as impressive as the stories say. And, I have to admit, it is almost a shame I caught you…almost."
She laughed at this; she certainly did have spirit. "You've caught me, true. But that doesn't mean you have to turn me in, my lord," she responded in a somewhat breathy voice, licking her lips deliberately as she met my gaze, "I'm certain we can come to some sort of agreement. There has to be…something…I have that you might want?"
It was tempting, in a way, but I was not about to let her go just for a night or two of pleasure, not after all the crimes she had committed. "Now, as fun as that sounds, Bess," I told her, reaching to draw my thumb across her cheek, causing her to inhale sharply, "You know that it will take more than tumbling into my bed to get me to let you go. Now if you had something to sweeten the pot, something I could take to my admiral to explain why I let you go, well, we might be able to work something out."
"What about the hideout of the crew of The Cursed Strumpet?" she asked me then, wiggling against the post she was tied to in a rather delightful manner, "I can tell you exactly where to find them."
The Strumpet was a boat I'd been hunting for quite some time, and bringing them to justice would certainly satisfy the admirals above me. "I think we might be in business. Of course, I will have to keep you in my custody until they've been caught," I told her, not bothering to hide the hungry look in my eyes.
